How Do I Create This Insane Particle Path Effect? I’m Stuck!
I’ve been trying to recreate a particle effect similar to the one made by Yudho_xyz, but I just can’t get close. I attempted using Trapcode Particular in After Effects, but it didn’t give me the result I wanted. The particles in his work seem to follow hundreds of complex paths, and it looks incredibly fluid and dynamic. I feel like manually creating this in Blender or AE would be nearly impossible — or at least insanely difficult. If anyone has any idea how this was done — maybe a tool, plugin, or even a workflow suggestion — I’d really appreciate the help! submitted by /u/GODDUMB [link] [comments]

AI vs. Hollywood: The Fight Over Creativity’s Future
Member-only storyAI vs. Hollywood: The Fight Over Creativity’s FutureThe Battle for Copyrights in the Age of Technology5 min read·Just now--A Clash of Worlds: Hollywood’s Struggle with AII remember the first time I felt the chill of AI’s shadow over Hollywood. It was a sunny afternoon, the kind where the California sun seemed to promise endless possibilities. Yet, as I sat in a bustling café, eavesdropping on a conversation between two film students, I caught snippets of their debate over AI’s growing role in the entertainment industry. Their excitement was palpable, but so was their fear. They spoke of AI-generated scripts and digital actors with a mix of awe and apprehension. It was then that I realized the magnitude of the conflict brewing between Hollywood’s creative soul and the relentless march of technology. The Allure and Anxiety of AI in EntertainmentAs I delved deeper into the world of AI in Hollywood, I discovered a landscape filled with both promise and peril. On one hand, AI offers the tantalizing prospect of reducing production costs and streamlining processes. Imagine a world where AI handles mundane tasks, freeing up creatives to focus on storytelling. Yet, this very efficiency threatens to overshadow the human touch that breathes life into art. The fear of job loss looms large, with AI potentially replacing writers, editors, and even actors. The idea of AI-generated characters using an actor’s likeness without consent is a chilling prospect that strikes at the heart of artistic integrity. The Copyright ConundrumThe battle lines are drawn, with tech giants like Google and OpenAI on one side, and Hollywood creatives on the other. Tech companies argue for access to copyrighted content to fuel AI innovation and maintain global competitiveness, especially against Chinese rivals. But Hollywood isn’t backing down. Over 400 industry figures have rallied, urging the White House to uphold strong copyright protections. They argue that diluting these protections would undermine the very fabric of America’s creative industries. The Strikes that Shook Hollywood

The Molasses Flood Has Been Fully Absorbed Into CD Projekt RED
News The Molasses Flood Has Been Fully Absorbed Into CD Projekt RED As of April 1, The Molasses Flood now no longer exists as a legal entity. Co-founder Damian Isla has also announced his departure. Posted By Joelle Daniels | On 10th, Apr. 2025 CD Projekt RED has announced that it has now fully absorbed The Molasses Flood into itself. This means that The Molasses Flood now no longer exists as a separate legal entity. The announcement was made through a statement on the official website of The Molasses Flood (via Eurogamer), which reveals that the merger went into full affect on April 1. “We want to let you know that on April 1, 2025, The Molasses Flood LLC (“TMF”) merged with CD PROJEKT RED Inc. (“CDPR Inc.”), a company being a part of the CD PROJEKT Group,” wrote The Molasses Flood in its statement. “As a result of the merger TMF, in its former legal state (of a separate legal entity) ceased its operations, while CDPR Inc. assumed the rights and obligations of TMF.” The studio did say that, while it is no longer an individual legal entity, its work on The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow will not be affected by this move. On the completion of development, CD Projekt will continue to publish the games. “The merger will not affect the availability or distribution of ‘The Flame in The Flood‘ and ‘Drake Hollow‘ video games, which will continue to be published by CD PROJEKT Group,” it wrote. The Molasses Flood co-founder Damian Isla took to LinkedIn to talk about the merger in more detail. In a post on the social media website, Isla referred to the move as being “the end of an era.” He also referred to the merger as being a good thing for the studio, crediting it with helping break down organisational barriers. “To be ultra clear: this is a GOOD AND HEALTHY thing for the studio, and it was long-expected. It breaks down some organizational barriers, and better integrates the TMF team with the rest of the amazing CDPR org,” wrote Isla. “Overall, it shows a very bright future for Project Sirius (aka “the multiplayer Witcher game,” of which I was the Design Director for three years). It’s going to be an amazing game, one for the books, and I cannot wait until the rest of the world learns about what we’ve been working on.” However, Isla does note that he has decided to “not follow TMF on this transition.” He has stated that March 31 was his last day with the studio. “Obviously this is a big change,” he wrote. “TMF has been a huge part of my life for the past decade plus, and I’m proud of have been a part of building something that lasted as long as TMF did, in a market environment often quite hostile to tiny teams like ours. I think we made some beautiful, memorable and quirky things, and I’ve also gotten to work with some of the kindest, most generous and talented people in the industry.” CD Projekt had acquired The Molasses Flood all the way back in October 2021. Since then, The Molasses Flood has been working on its own projects, as well as Project Sirius, which is going to be a multiplayer game based on The Witcher franchise. Market Whiplash: Media Stocks Slump Again Following Brief Rebound on Trump’s Tariffs Pause
Following one day of respite, the U.S. stock market returned to its downward spiral Thursday amid ongoing concerns tied to President Donald Trump‘s proposed tariffs. Media stocks briefly rallied on Wednesday when Trump announced a 90-day pause on the planned tariffs for non-retaliating countries while simultaneously instituting a 125% tax rate increase for imported goods from China. But the initial impressive spikes on that news didn’t hold more than 24 hours with many entertainment companies seeing their shares fall again by the time the U.S. market closed Thursday, including Disney at $85.23 per share (-6.8%), Warner Bros. Discovery at $8.10 (-12.5%), Netflix at $921.17 (-2.6%), Comcast at $33.68 (-4.3%), Paramount Global at $10.92 (-2%), and Amazon at $181.22 (-5%). Related Stories Before the closing bell rang Thursday, Trump dismissed China‘s decision to reduce the number of U.S. films it allows to play in the country’s theaters. The China Film Administration confirmed the reduction earlier on Thursday and when Trump was asked about the move at a press conference, he responded: “I think I’ve heard of worse things.” Popular on Variety On the tech side, following a one-day burst, Apple was down to $190.42 per share (-4.2%), Meta to $546.29 (-6.7%), Alphabet to $155.37 (-3.5%), Nvidia at $107.57 (-5.9%), Microsoft at $381.35 (-2.3%) and Roku at $59.27 (-7.2%). Looking at the market overall, the tech-centric Nasdaq Composite index was down 4.31% and the S&P 500 fell 3.46%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average took a 2.5% hit, dropping 1,014 points. By comparison, on Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 8% — its biggest one-day jump since March 2020. The tech-heavy Nasdaq soared 12%, marking that index’s biggest one-day gain since 2001. The S&P 500 rose 9.5%, its biggest bounce since 2008.
