These fan-made Helldivers 2 cinematics have convinced me a movie could work
I originally had a good deal of skepticism when Sony announced a film based on Helldivers 2, simply because it’s hard to imagine how the game can translate into a movie. Someone’s already made Starship Troopers, after all, and it’s hard to imagine the antics that emerge from your typical match translating to the big screen. Over time, my position has softened, and a large part of that is because of the phenomenal work fans are doing in creating their own cinematics inspired by Arrowhead’s work. One fan, posting on Reddit under the name Sad-Needleworker-590, posted his own trailer using a few clips of in-game cutscenes, voice lines from the game, and footage filmed from his own games. The end result is chilling; some of the shots of a lone Helldiver jogging through a blood-red sunset or preparing to face off against an Automaton Factory Strider genuinely gave me goosebumps. There are also some great action scenes, cut short enough to provide thrilling glimpses into the action-packed, lethal life of a Helldiver. The trailer took about four days to put together. “I like Helldivers because it brought back to me that forgotten feeling of a good video game,” Sad-Needleworker-590 told Polygon via direct messages. “Even if it uses same game mechanic in every mission it still really fun to play with random people, or friends. And the game looks really good, each shot is cinematic masterpiece itself.”I’ve also enjoyed following Martechi on YouTube, who creates works in the Warhammer 40K and Helldivers 2 universes alongside his own setting. Martechi creates videos that look like they could exist in some theoretical, wildly ambitious update from Arrowhead themselves. Using the mechanical context of his user ID and the Super Destroyer HUD, this cinematic space battle between Automatons and Illuminate looks real enough to fool the unwary observer. While some fans don’t care to fight the Illuminate, YouTuber EPG-6 created an animation called “Showdown” in which a Helldiver uses a hatchet and a shield to go head-to-head with an Illuminate Overlord. I, for one, absolutely hate fighting the Overlords because they can take so many shots, so it’s satisfying to see one in such a tense tussle with a Helldiver.Lumis Entertainment is another YouTube channel with some intriguing teasers for upcoming projects. One video is called Helldivers 2 - Teaser and shows glimpses of an upcoming animated fan film. In a longer crossover animation called Helldivers 40,000, a Helldiver is on the rocks against an oncoming Terminid swarm. Just when hope is lost, drop pods arrive, bringing Space Marines. As a fan of both franchises, I feel comfortable agreeing that these two would get along famously. There’s no news on the upcoming film, besides knowing that Arrowhead itself won’t be too involved in the production. “We’re not Hollywood people, and we don’t know what it takes to take a movie,” Arrowhead Game Studios creative director Johan Pilestedt said back in January. PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures will be at the helm, but if these fan creations prove anything, it’s that the gameplay can nicely translate into cinematic snippets.See More:

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Releases Out Of Early Access In September
Menu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Releases Out Of Early Access In September David Carcasole • Apr 10, 2025 at 04:49pm EDT Developed by Funday Games and published by Ghost Ship Games, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is the rougelike auto-shooter spin-off of first-person co-op mining shooter Deep Rock Galactic. The top-down adventure launched in early access on Steam in February 2024, and Ghost Ship Games announced today it'll launch out of early access later this year. Announced during the Triple-I Initiative Showcase, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will hit its 1.0 launch on September 17, 2025. It'll be available on PC through Steam at launch, though hopefully, once it hits 1.0, we'll hear something about when it'll be moving to consoles. Over 1 million players have already dived into Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor since its release a little more than a year ago, and in that time, Funday Games has released multiple new biomes and characters for players to try out, with more sure to come when its 1.0 release arrives. Unlike Deep Rock Galactic, which has a co-op focus, Survivor is a single-player game that challenges players to take down waves of hordes of aliens. At the same time, you search for anything and everything shiny and valuable. Funday Games promises that the 1.0 update will be "the biggest update we've ever made," though the exact details of the update remain unclear. Fans are hoping that it will include the anticipated endless mode, which was previously delayed from the last content update for Survivor, as Funday Games opted to focus on getting Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor ready for its September 1.0 release instead. The trailer for its release date does show players, though, that a new mechanic, 'Gear,' will be added with 1.0. Unfortunately, we don't have any concrete answers to how players get it, what functions gear has, or any other questions players have about it. Funday is holding off on those details until the game's release is closer. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor's release date wasn't the only news from Ghost Ship Games during the Triple-I Initiative Showcase, as we also got word that a closed alpha test for Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core will be taking place soon, ahead of the game's early access launch. You can sign up for a chance to participate in that playtest on Rogue Core's Steam page.

The show takes a GI Joe-inspired approach to its storyline. With M. Bison's Shadaloo crime syndicate threatening the world, Guile puts together a team of elite world warriors like Chun-Li, Blanka, Ryu, and more to take him down. Of course, the series was also designed to be something of a toy commercial, but it's still a fun relic from a bygone age of entertainment. To flesh out your Street Fighter Blu-ray collection, you can pick up a couple of films based on the long-running fighting game franchise. The 1994 live-action movie starring Raul Julia as M. Bison and Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile is still the best of the bunch thanks to its many quotable lines. You can pick it up in either a standard Blu-ray format for $10.33 (was $15) or in a premium Steelbook Edition that's on sale for $25 (was $35), and is perfect for displaying alongside your painting of M. Bison Crossing the Alps. There's also a new 4K remaster of Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie that's on sale for $26.37 (was $35), which has been seen as a massive influence on the series thanks to its stylistic action and groundbreaking animation.Continue Reading at GameSpot

One Nintendo Switch 2 Game Could Be the Yin to Deltarune's Yang
Deltarune, Toby Fox’s episodic spiritual follow-up to Undertale, has two more chapters already set for release with the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch on June 5, 2025. If Eric Barone’s Haunted Chocolatier joins too on the new console, Switch 2 could achieve that ideal balance of contrasting indie games once again. Since Stardew Valley was in development for about four years before release, Haunted Chocolatier might still not be out for another year. However, with so many games currently working through Switch 2 issues, it could end up launching right around the time it becomes a smooth sail for all.

Duskfade’s nostalgic take on action platforming is coming to PS5
Hi PlayStation players! I’m excited to introduce you to Duskfade, an all-new 3D action-platformer coming to PlayStation 5 in 2026. Duskfade is a brand-new action-platformer that fuses the nostalgia of classic PlayStation titles like Jak and Daxter and the original Ratchet & Clank games, with modern gameplay and a deeply heartfelt story. You play as Zirian, a young workshop apprentice, as he embarks on an adventure to restore time itself to a world enshrouded by eternal night, discovering vibrant locations on a wondrous adventure set within a stunning clockpunk world. The game is being developed by the talented team at Weird Beluga Studio, a group of passionate action-platformer fans who want Duskfade to rekindle that magical, timeless feeling of those classic, fan favorite titles. Check out the brand new trailer below – and welcome to the world of Duskfade. Play Video A nostalgic yet fresh take on action-platforming  Duskfade is the kind of project that really excites us here at Fireshine Games: it’s a heartfelt tribute to the golden age of 3D action-platformers, packed with tight, fluid gameplay, stunning world design, and a deeply emotional story that hits hard in all the right ways.  Every movement, fight, and environment has been carefully crafted to feel tactile, electric, and full of momentum, whether rail-grinding through crystal caves or fending off clockwork foes. Players will jump, dash, grapple, and glide through gorgeous levels that rekindle the magic of classic action-platformers, and we can’t wait to bring this dream game to players around the world next year. Here are some comments directly from the development team to help you get a better understanding of their vision for Duskfade: “Our game takes inspiration from Jak and Daxter and Ratchet & Clank, with movement that has been designed to feel agile and fast. Flow is a core focus, and we want players to feel like Zirian is gliding through the world, chaining actions seamlessly and covering large distances without losing momentum.” – Tomás Manzano Sobrido, Lead Programmer “The combat in Duskfade takes cues from games like Ratchet & Clank and Kingdom Hearts, with additional mechanics inspired by contemporary action games, like a responsive dodge roll, layered in to add depth and keep the action feeling fresh and dynamic” – Esteban Marin Illana, Game Designer A story of loss, love, and moving forward  Beneath the vibrant visuals and explosive combat lies something far more personal. Duskfade tells the story of siblings Zirian and Allira, who find themselves pulled into a mysterious reality shaped by memory, grief, and the echoes of their past. It’s a game about navigating loss – inspired by real-life experiences from the development team – and learning how to hold onto what matters while moving forward. “Losing a loved one always leaves a deep wound, especially when they were your guide and role model. That’s what happened to me with the Ioss of my grandfather. However, it gave me the strength and the inspiration to write this story.” – Ricardo Chorques Mesa, Narrative Designer How a group of friends turned a passion into Duskfade  Weird Beluga’s story started in 2019 when five university friends entered the PlayStation Talents competition with a passion project and walked away with awards for Best Game and Best Art. With the momentum and support that came from PlayStation Talents and Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain, they made a big decision: they dropped out of university, founded Weird Beluga Studio, and got to work.  Just two years later, in 2021, they released their debut title, Clid the Snail on PS4 and PS5, a full-circle moment for a team that grew up playing on PS1, PS2, and PS3. That early backing from PlayStation didn’t just launch their first game, it helped shape their entire journey.  Today, three of the team’s original five developers, Tomás Manzano Sobrido, Diego Redondo González, and Ricardo Chorques Mesa, are still driving the studio forward. We at Fireshine Games are thrilled to be partnering with them to bring Duskfade to life.  Emotional resonance and representation in gaming  With Duskfade, Weird Beluga is setting out to create something that goes beyond being a fun action-platformer. The game is also part of a growing wave of indie games that embrace emotional storytelling, personal themes, and inclusive perspectives. Whether you’ve experienced grief yourself or simply want a game that connects on a deeper level, Duskfade hopes to offer something meaningful and universal to every player beneath its spectacle. “We’re aiming for a striking contrast in our game: a colorful, innocent visual style inspired by classic games, paired with a deep, emotional narrative. Beneath the vibrant world lies a story that explores serious real-world themes, adding weight and meaning to the adventure.” – Diego Redondo González, Lead Artist  Duskfade is more than a passion project – it’s a heartfelt tribute to classic action-platformer favorites wrapped up in an emotional narrative. Stay tuned for more updates and a deeper look at what makes the game such a special journey soon, and we can’t wait for you to experience Duskfade for yourself when it launches on PS5 next year.

How to solve the Laboratory periodic table puzzle in Blue Prince
The Laboratory in Blue Prince is home to two puzzles: the periodic table puzzle and the machine puzzle. Both puzzles are intertwined with one another — you’ll need to solve the periodic table puzzle in order to adjust the electricity on the machine. Below, in this Blue Prince guide, we’ll tell you how to solve both Laboratory puzzles, including how to get the period table code and how to power up the Laboratory machine. How to solve the periodic table puzzle in the Laboratory There are two things you’re looking for in the Laboratory to solve the first puzzle and get a hint for the second: the code (a blank periodic table with numbers) and a copy of the periodic table. The code is on the bulletin board next to the machine with all the levers in one corner (first image above). The periodic table is in the opposite corner above a bench with a microscope (second image). Once you have both, you can start to piece together the answer. Take the numbers in order from the code sheet and match them to the atomic symbols (one- or two-letter abbreviations) on the filled-in periodic table. Do that, and you’ll get a sentence (after adding some spaces): PUSH THREE UP AFTER NINE. How to power the machine in the Laboratory Before adjusting the electricity levels on the machine, you need to turn it on first. To power the machine found in the Laboratory in Blue Prince, you’ll need to connect a powered Boiler Room to the Laboratory. This can be done by connecting a Boiler Room directly to the Laboratory or through the ducts that can be found on the ceiling. These ducts will carry steam to each room that its connected to — as long as the room has ducts. A few examples of rooms with ducts include the Security Room, Passageway, and Archives. Once the Laboratory has been powered by the Boiler Room, you can now use the solution from the periodic table puzzle on the machine. First, pull lever #9 and then pull lever #3 to power and unlock the Blackbridge Grotto, a permanent addition that allows you to access one offline terminal from the network each day. For more Blue Prince guides, here’s our full walkthrough on how to reach Room 46, plus how to unlock another permanent room with the Orchard, open the West Gate through the Garage, or how to solve the dart puzzle in the Billiards Room.
