Anker’s Soundcore Bluetooth Speaker Is Practically Free, Now on Amazon for a Steal
Bringing an audio speaker into the bathtub with you used to be, well, inadvisable. At best. And many of those portable Bluetooth speakers that boast of being waterproof are only seaworthy to a point. Then there is Anker’s Soundcore Select 4 Go Bluetooth Shower Speaker, which rocks a degree of waterproofing so great that it floats. Skeptical? It’s worth a $20 bet to find out, which is what the Soundcore Select 4 Go is selling for right now at Amazon during a 39% off sale. We’re not advocating that you make using the Soundcore Select 4 Go in your bath or pool as a regular habit, but should an accidental dunking occur, the Soundcore Select 4 Go can be immersed in up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes without damage. It’s barely half a pound in weight and has a built-in loop for your showerhead, handlebars, carabiner, or anything else you want to attach it to for great sound on the go without fear of the elements. See at Amazon Big Sound, Little Speaker The hand-sized Soundcore Select 4 Go cranks out 5 watts worth of clear, beautiful sound from any Bluetooth device you choose to pair it with. It’s USB-rechargeable with the included cable, and a full charge gets you 20 hours of listening time. Even after 300 charging cycles at max current, the Soundcore Select 4 Go’s battery retains 95% of its performance. Between that and its amazingly durable construction, this should provide years of portable listening. You can also double your pleasure by pairing two Soundcore Select 4 Go speakers to your Bluetooth device — they’ll assume stereo separation with one taking on the left channel and the other one the right channel. This 39% off Amazon deal is the perfect time to grab two Soundcore Select 4 Go speakers and set them up for clear, long-lasting, budget-friendly stereo sound. Take It Anywhere The Soundcore Select 4 Go has “shower” in its name, and it is indeed a perfect shower speaker thanks to its long battery life and IP67 waterproofing. But it’s also ideal for the beach or a day out on a boat — remember, in case it goes overboard, it floats — or clipped to handlebars or a backpack for a day of outdoor adventuring, because it’s also rated IP67 for dustproofing. It work equally well indoors in a dry room, but when you have this kind of insurance against the elements, that almost seems like a wasted opportunity. The Soundcore Select 4 Go comes in six colors, but only the black model is part of this 39% off Amazon deal. When you can save $13 and the performance is identical, why be picky about the color? Head to Amazon now and lock in a summer of outdoor tunes free that will last regardless of the elements. See at Amazon

Public Space as a Tool for Community Healing: Scales of Intervention in Latin America
Public Space as a Tool for Community Healing: Scales of Intervention in Latin AmericaPresented by:Save this picture!Parque Pavuna / Embyá - Paisagismo Ecossistêmico . Image © Douglas LopesPublic spaces are more than just physical voids in the urban fabric—they are stages for social interaction, cultural expression, and collective memory. In times of social fragmentation and environmental stress, these spaces can serve as catalysts for healing, offering safe environments where communities can reconnect. Through thoughtful design and participatory processes, public space interventions can rebuild trust, promote mental well-being, and foster a renewed sense of belonging among community members. Save this picture! These public spaces can take various forms depending on the context. Some are large-scale interventions, such as parks, where landscape design and urban equipment create new spaces for the community. Others may be smaller urban design actions, like revitalizing streets and sidewalks through the use of color, sports programs, vegetation, and furniture. Still others may take the form of small-scale installations—a pavilion or structure that, when placed strategically, can foster a cohesive and safe social environment. In the following examples, we explore projects located in Latin America that illustrate these three approaches to public space design. From expansive parks that reshape neighborhood life to subtle yet impactful improvements in everyday streetscapes, and small-scale installations that activate forgotten corners of the city—each case highlights how design can respond to local needs and foster inclusive, engaging environments, making architecture a powerful tool for healing communities. Maybe it’s time to admit this one simple truth about Google Workspace
Let’s be honest: Google Workspace is the Pepsi of productivity apps. It’s fine, good even, but Sheets will never be Excel. If Google Workspace is Pepsi, then Microsoft 365 is a crisp, cold Coca-Cola, and this is one refreshing deal you can even share with the whole family.  It’s now only $99.99 to get Microsoft 365 for a full year for six different users. Check it out.  What’s included There’s a reason so many people are paying a little extra to get Microsoft 365. This version comes with quite a few extras, including  Word Excel PowerPoint  Outlook MS Editor Clipchamp OneNote 6TB of cloud storage you can share with the whole family  Personal data and device protection through Microsoft Defender  Some of these apps, like Word and Excel, are old staples, but now they have the latest AI integrations that can seriously save you time.  Other apps like Clipchamp and MS Editor are a little newer. Clipchamp is a video editor that’s a whole lot easier to use than some competitors. MS Editor is a new way of checking your grammar, spelling, and usage in all your writing. It’s kind of like having your own digital proofreader.  This subscription lasts for one year and works on all sorts of devices. Use it on your PC, Mac, iPhone, or Android. That’s another major benefit of getting the subscription. One payment gets apps for the whole family, regardless of which device they use for school or work.  It’s only $99.99 to get a Microsoft 365 1-year subscription for six users, but it won’t stay that way.  StackSocial prices subject to change.  Microsoft 365: 1-Year Subscription (Family/Up to 6 Users) – $99.99 See Deal

Scotland’s Isle of Skye was once a dinosaur promenade
News Paleontology Scotland’s Isle of Skye was once a dinosaur promenade Fossil footprints reveal both carnivores and herbivores strolled by an ancient lagoon A theropod dinosaur and a sauropod dinosaur strolling through soft sediments on what’s now the Isle of Skye in this artist’s reconstruction. Tone Blakesley and Scott Reid, CC-BY 4.0 By Carolyn Gramling 1 hour ago Scotland’s remote Isle of Skye was once a bustling dinosaur thoroughfare. A newly discovered set of at least 131 fossilized footprints dating to between 170 million and 166 million years ago reveals that both long-necked sauropods and carnivorous theropods splashed through the shallow waters of what was then a balmy, subtropical lagoon, imprinting their tracks onto the soft sands. These fossil trackways reveal that two main groups of dinosaurs casually strolled across what’s now Prince Charles’s Point on the Trotternish Peninsula of the island, paleontologist Tone Blakesley of the University of Edinburgh and colleagues report April 2 in PLOS One. Sets of three-toed tracks point to bipedal carnivorous theropods, which were probably species of megalosaurs, based on previous fossil data from the region, the researchers say. A second group of footprints, round and huge, were probably left by a species of sauropod. Based on the spacing of the footprints, the dinosaurs that left these tracks weren’t in any hurry or heading anywhere in particular. The tracks don’t have a consistent direction, and the spacing indicates that the dinosaurs were moving at a walking speed — in other words, they were casually milling about, the team suggests. Two footprints in the sand, with the difference in surface feature heights shown using color, reveals the imprints of two different dinosaurs’ feet at the ancient lagoon. At left, a theropod footprint shows the imprint of three toes, and at right, a sauropod footprint has rounded toes.Blakesley et al./PLOS ONE 2025 CC-BY 4.0 Fossils of dinosaurs dating to the Middle Jurassic Period, between about 175 million and 161 million years ago, are relatively rare. It was a harrowing time environmentally, marked by widespread volcanism and tectonic activity linked to the breakup of the supercontinent Pangaea, the opening of the central Atlantic Ocean, elevated carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, high temperatures and swelling seas that rose and engulfed much of the land surface. Those aren’t great conditions for preserving fossils. Sign up for our newsletter We summarize the week's scientific breakthroughs every Thursday.
