WWE WrestleMania 41 Day 1 Highlights And Reactions
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - APRIL 7: Paul Heyman gets ready to address the audience during Monday Night ... More RAW at Target Center on April 7, 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. (Photo by Rich Freeda/WWE via Getty Images)WWE via Getty Images WrestleMania 41 kicked off from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday. I live blogged the entire show. The biggest story: Paul Heyman pulled the ultimate double-double cross turning on his client and friend to give Seth Rollins the win in the main event. It was a fantastic ending to the main event. Becky Lynch loved the ending. Take a look at every entrance, big moment and reaction from Day 1 of the grandest show on the professional wrestling calendar. WrestleMania 41 Night One Results and Celebrity Sightings As They HappenMIAMI, FLORIDA - APRIL 11: UFC CEO Dana White is seen on stage during the UFC 316 press conference ... More at Kaseya Center on April 11, 2025 in Miami, Florida. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC)Zuffa LLC Yes, that’s the correct image. The UFC CEO, Dana White, and WWE’s business buddy under the TKO umbrella handled the WrestleMania 41 foreword. That was a mild surprise. Jelly Roll handled the singing of "God Bless America" to open the festivities.SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - APRIL 05: Jelly Roll performs onstage for Coca Cola Live during the 2025 NCAA ... Predictably, he received a rousing reception from fans.Triple H (Photo by WWE/Getty Images)WWE via Getty Images World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jey Uso def. (c) Gunther – NEW CHAMPION Entrances The World Heavyweight Title match opens the show, but record producer Salvatore had a brief appearance to usher in Uso’s arrival. Jey’s entrance was supersized on a WrestleMania level. He entered through the massive crowd. Uso was far more subdued than normal, despite Las Vegas Raiders cheerleaders being on the scene and other massive levels of pageantry. Appropriately, Gunther entered with little pomp and circumstance, befitting his no-nonsense style. Celebrity Callouts There was also an acknowledgment of combat sports powerbroker Turki Alalshikh. Big Moments It took less than 30 minutes of the entire program for us to see not one, but two finishers landed with kick outs. We didn’t just see the finishers land with kick outs, Gunther also used a slight distraction to land a blow with the championship belt to Uso’s head. Jey kicked out of that too–after a splash from the top rope from the Ring General. Uso hits Gunther with a taste of his own medicine. Jey lands a power bomb on the champion that set up three Uso splashes and a rear-naked choke that led to a submission win. WOW! I thought Uso would win, but not by submission. That is unbelievable. Awesomely, Jimmy Uso joined his brother in the ring to Yeet and celebrate the win. Awesome moment for the Samoan dynasty. Def Jam and hip-hop icon Rick Rubin, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and famed illusionist Chris Angel were highlighted. World Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) def. (c) The War Raiders (Erik and Ivar) - NEW CHAMPIONS The tag-team title match is next and WWE is running a strong story-building vignette setting the scene for this match. This match has been arguably the least-built scrap on Saturday and Sunday. Entrances The New Day came to the ring in matching ring attire that looks like they are a part one of the new sub cultures introduced in Patch 8 of Baldur’s Gate. I mean that as a major compliment. In actuality, I believe it is a callout to Clash of Clans, which is a sponsor for this match. The logo and representation is all over the ring. Woods is rocking faux hawk with the sides braided, and it’s dope. The War Raiders have the vibe as well, though it’s not as loud. Some felt the New Day were paying homage to Giant Gonzalez. Celebrity Callouts Kittle got involved in a shouting match with the New Day before the match started. Jelly Roll got more screen time along with comedian Michael Che and actor Oshea Jackson Jr. Big Moments This move was crazy from Ivar. He did also come close to botching his signature moonsault. His foot appeared to slip, but he landed it without too much consequence. What’s with the quick wins tonight? Woods gets the pinfall victory thanks to Kofi assisting with leverage on Erik. This was the right call, but another oddly awkward ending. Jade Cargill def. Naomi Entrances Naomi’s new entrance has dumped the high-energy dance track and the neon light. It’s now all about metal music and caution tape. It’s a great look–especially for her new persona. Jade Cargill’s entrance had a local Las Vegas weatherman. Cargill emerged rocking her signature short hairstyle for premium live events and a gold trimmed attire that accentuates the storm concept. Both women have made a major statement with their entrance. Big Moments Cargill put on a power display in this one. Naomi was strong in support as she has been during the entire build, but this was about showing Cargill doing things no other woman in wrestling history has ever been able to do from a pure power standpoint. Cargill literally caught Naomi full dive and turned it into a jackhammer. Look at this: This finish was excellent too. Cargill and Naomi knocked it out of the park in this match. There was a Lil Yachty and Lilian Singh sighting in the crowd. United States Championship Match: Jacob Fatu def. LA Knight (c) – NEW CHAMPION Entrances Jacob Fatu began his ring walk with Solo Sikoa, but the latter didn’t walk the aisle with him. Fatu was wearing a werewolf mask, but he handed that to Solo. Sikoa took the mask and went backstage. LA Knight was chauffeured to the stage in a white Maserati. Big Moments This match has stolen the show, so far. Fatu and LA Knight put in work with a series of memorable spots. The crowd came alive for this one with chants for both men battling at the climax. The two sent the message early on that this one was going to be amazing. Knight gave up the title, but not before delivering these kinds of moments. He countered Fatu’s moonsault with a BFT. El Grande Americano def. Rey Fenix Fenix steps in for the legitimately injured Rey Mysterio. Entrances EGA came to the ring with traditional El Mariachi music, sepia tone and fully embracing his pseudo luchador persona. WWE and Fenix deserve credit for putting this entrance together on short notice. Celebrity Callouts White is there after all. The UFC CEO is shown in the audience. WWE has purchased the Mexican wrestling promotion, AAA and one of their stars, Vikingo got into the action a bit with EGA. Big Moments EGA aka Gable just pulled off a top-rope maneuver that I’ve ever seen before. Wow! A lot happened with EGA’s loaded mask, and all of it was amazing. Here’s the finish. You can tell this match was abbreviated due to the short-notice construction, but all things considered, it wasn’t horrible. On June 7, WWE-AAA will feature a live event Worlds Collide. Overall, I’d agree with Justin LaBar’s post. Shawn Michaels Announces the Attendance: 61,467 Celebrity Callouts Actor Stephen Amell and former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya are shown. WWE Women’s Championship Match: (c) Tiffany Stratton (c) def. Charlotte Flair Entrances Stratton entered the match in a custom Barbie box, and that was an awesome touch. Charlotte entered in a Rolls Royce and was the first performer to have pyro in her entrance, for whatever that is worth. Big Moments Charlotte spent most of the early moments of the match battering Stratton with some pretty stiff shots. Charlotte even took time to lay the groundwork for what might be her next feud. Hello Stephanie Vaquer. Charlotte pulls out the powerbomb. Fans can say what they want about Charlotte, but she is proving why she is the greatest woman in wrestling history. She is doing a masterful job of telling a story in this match. She’s dropping expertly placed soundbites mid-action and in some ways carrying some of the more physical moments. This match has been really good. Stratton retains with a Prettiest Moonsault Ever. As I said, great match. Daddy Flair agrees. 2025 WWE Hall of Fame Recap Peacock shows the best moments from the Hall of Fame scenario. The entire class took the stage and got their due. Triple Threat Main Event: Seth Rollins def. Roman Reigns and CM Punk Entrances Seth Rollins just something here. He came out dressed in all black with a branded flamethrower. The lights went black and he then appeared in all white and illuminated. Roman’s entrance nearly brought a tear to my eye. It is reserved, and he was alone, but when you look at the large LED screens, they are displaying members of the Samoan dynasty. It was beautiful. Put the ones in the air. CM Punk’s vignette might have been the best in history. Three words: This Fire Burns! In Living Colour sang him to the ring, and that was amazing too. Big Moments There have been so many amazing moments. It’s hard to keep it all straight. I’m just going to list them until the finish. Heyman has turned on Reigns and Punk with low blows to both to set Rollins up for the win. Now, if you're already looking ahead to tomorrow, here’s what’s set for Night 2. WrestleMania 41 Night Two Card (7 p.m. ET on April 20 on Peacock) Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena WWE Women’s World Championship Triple Threat: Iyo Sky (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair Women’s Tag Team Championship: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez (c) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria Intercontinental Championship Fatal Four-Way: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. Penta vs. Finn Bálor Sin City Street Fight: Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul Randy Orton vs. ???

    I bought a $12 Apple Watch Series 10, it’s bizarre
Table of Contents Table of Contents Apple Watch in name and style But not in nature Apple could learn from this imitation One of my favorite things about Huaqiangbei, the world’s craziest tech market, is the diverse range of wares available in its various stalls. Visit this market in Shenzhen, China, and you’ll find thousands of small retailers selling a wide range of products, with the majority being branded or inspired by Apple.  I found $9 AirPods Pro that were original and a great bargain, as well as a host of drones and other tech products. The strangest purchase? This $12 Apple Watch Series 10, which resembles the original Apple Watch at least until you start using it.  Recommended Videos Here’s the story of a bizarre Apple Watch Series 10, which is, in fact, an Apple Watch, but also definitely isn’t.  Related Nirave Gondhia / Digital Trends If you saw this on someone’s wrist, you’d immediately think it was an original Apple Watch. It features the same large display, digital crown, and power key that you’ll find on an official Apple Watch.  Turn it over, and it also appears to be an official product, although it lacks some of the hallmarks that you’ll notice when you place it next to an authentic one. It features a ceramic case, a heart rate monitor, and comes with a sport band that is identical to an official Apple product.  When you turn it on, there’s no setup; instead, it boots directly into the homescreen, which resembles Watch OS. Even the app drawer features the same zoomed-out view as on Apple’s products.  Nirave Gondhia / Digital Trends There’s a host of apps that all feature the same icons as the Apple Watch and work well. There are also a few apps you won’t find preloaded on an Apple Watch, such as Alipay, which is one of the two super apps used by everyone in China in every part of daily life. There are also shameless copies of most Watch OS apps, including Activity, Workout, Messages, and much more.  You could be fooled into thinking that this is an official Apple Watch. However, once you start to dig in further, you’ll quickly notice that it’s not an official Apple Watch. Nirave Gondhia / Digital Trends The most appealing thing about the Apple Watch is its connectivity to your iPhone. The least appealing thing about this Apple Watch? There’s no way to connect it to your phone, at least that I have found.  To pair it, you first have to go into a settings menu that tries to mimic Watch OS, but fails miserably. Instead of the general menu, you have a universal menu, which is the result of a bad translation from Mandarin to English.  At the bottom, there is an option to pair with a new phone, which generates a QR code that you need to scan with an app. However, there is no indication of which app to use for scanning. If you simply use your phone’s camera, it redirects you to a random Google search, which is the default behavior for most phones when they cannot recognize the endpoint for the QR code URL. I spent an hour trying to find a way to connect this, but to no avail.  Nirave Gondhia / Digital Trends Beyond the lack of a companion app, there are also a few other notable aspects. The haptics are strange and activate in two stages. The touch response on the screen is considerably poorer than that of Apple’s products. There’s also a host of apps that are downright strange and do very little, such as one that lets you make it an AI Watch, whatever that means.  Despite this, some people would be happy using this as their watch, especially given its price and a few of its features.  Nirave Gondhia / Digital Trends As shocking as it sounds, Apple could learn from this watch. First, the app drawer features a kaleidoscope view that allows you to cycle through all installed apps in a more intuitive and user-friendly manner than the list or grid views, which are also available. Second, this Watch has slightly better step counting than the original Apple Watch Series 10 on my other wrist.  The biggest surprise is that, aside from notifications and phone connection, this is fundamentally a good watch. It accurately displays the time, and the fitness and activity features work. Although it lacks the polish of an official product, and you’ll likely never receive an update, it’s available for a fraction of the price.  Nirave Gondhia / Digital Trends Dubbed the Watch S10 Pro, it’s not a Pro watch and doesn’t offer the full experience of an Apple Watch, but could be ideal as a starter watch for a child or if you’re extremely limited by budget. After all, it costs less than 5% of a real Apple Watch and offers considerably more than a $10 watch you could buy anywhere else. For most people, that’s a worthwhile trade-off, even if it won’t be making its way onto any best smartwatches list anytime soon. Editors’ Recommendations

White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks points out one part of the government that needs more money
David Sacks said the US government should be strict on chip export controls. Become an Insider and start reading now. Have an account? David Sacks said on the All-In podcast that US-made chips should have strong export controls. He said some Western tech companies turn a blind eye to existing rules. Sacks said the Bureau of Industry and Security could use more resources to enforce export controls. David Sacks, the White House's AI and crypto czar, is a strong proponent of DOGE's work to slash the size of the US government. But one area he said could use more resources is at a little-mentioned federal agency, the Bureau of Industry and Security, which enforces export controls on US-made chips.During Friday's episode of the All-In podcast, Sacks said China continues to get its hands on regulated chips from the US despite export controls."I think clearly the shell companies, the front companies, are set up by either the Chinese government or entities in China to evade the export controls because ultimately they want the chips," Sacks said. The US government has implemented restrictions and rules around China's ability to get US semiconductors, including those from Nvidia. On Wednesday, Nvidia said it expects a multibillion-dollar charge due to a licensing requirement to send H20 chips to China. The White House advisor added that another issue is that Western companies will ignore where their chips end up."I do think there are a lot of Western companies that will look the other way or turn a blind eye and just haven't been enforcing the rules as religiously as they should because it's profitable not to," he said. "This is where I do think that the US government has to be pretty tough."Sacks said there needs to be a crackdown on loopholes companies may use to send their chips overseas, and more monitoring and inspection.According to Sacks, doing so would require more resources for the Bureau of Industry and Security, which is under the Department of Commerce's purview.Sacks said he felt the agency was "understaffed relative to the importance" of enforcing export controls."This is one of the few areas of the government that I actually think needs more resources," Sacks said.A BIS spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It's disappointing that we are going 8+ years without an official Nintendo Left Joycon with a D-Pad.
Bman94 Member Oct 28, 2017 2,600 I'm a big fan of Fighters and Platformers. I'm excited for the Switch 2 Edition of Street Fighter 6, since it looks to be a very competent port of the game and I love playing Dragon Ball Fighterz on the go. It's just so incredibly disappointing that Nintendo hasn't sold a left Joycon for a cheaper price that has a Nintendo specific D-Pad instead of the face buttons. If I remember correctly it took a while before 3rd parties got their hand on making a left Joycon with a D-Pad, and even then, they never felt as good as a Nintendo D-Pad. Do people not want this? I would have thought after 8 years there would have been more of a outcry on no proper D-Pad solution but I guess I'm in the minority.   cardboardboxer Member Oct 28, 2017 3,210 I love the D Pad on my Hori Compact Pro. Yeah yeah no HD Rumble no Gyro, I still use it in handheld mode 99% of the time because its so comfortable and the D Pad rocks. Can't wait for the Switch 2 to get its equivelent, hope it doesn't take four years again.  joffocakes Member Nov 15, 2017 1,920 The original Switch one was great for games like Mario, Celeste, Hollow Knight etc but I definitely had to be quite deliberate with it when playing Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, particularly half-circle motions. Interested to see how the new one holds up for SF6 training.  Jimnymebob Member Oct 26, 2017 21,938 Yeah, it's awful, and it's one of the main reasons I hardly ever use my Switch in handheld mode, and don't have a bunch of 2D platformers and fighting games for it. I feel like everyone who likes the Joy-Con d-pad should be forced by law to use a horizontal Joy-Con when playing multiplayer, and not being allowed to fob it off to whoever they're playing with while they use the Pro Controller.  Audiblee Member Mar 14, 2025 802 I expect we'll go another 7 or 8.   brinstar Member Oct 25, 2017 11,976 Yeah, I had the Hori Zelda one but it's missing features. I wish they'd make an official one.   Darkreaver Member Feb 16, 2024 724 All e official dpads are garbage. I'm a hardcore fightgame player and i always focussed on 8bitdo. Anyway, maybe the switch 2 pro controller is fixed. There are btw options for switch 1 btw. So will be for switch 2. Just not official. But lets be honest, why should we care about official anyway?  Dash Kappei Member Nov 1, 2017 5,498 Yeah, and while I'm thankful we at least had Hori's, the lack of wireless functionality meant I couldn't use it to play shmups/pinball in TATE on Flip Grip… I wished so much for an official Joycon w/ Dpad :-/   Kenny_Blankenship Member Jun 1, 2023 2,299 I don't think that was ever an expectation given the joycon's functionality.   TheAggroCraig This guy are sick of the One Winged Slayer Member Nov 6, 2017 7,171 This is NES joycon erasure   Shoichi Member Jan 10, 2018 12,271 within the first few months of owning it, I modded my left joycon to have a dpad. Had to put it back to how it was originally though as the split joycon usage with others was used more than I thought especially on traveling and dpad prevented it and didn't really want to buy another set at the time. I wish Nintendo would just sell an official variant of the joycon in stores with a dpad setup.  Last edited: Yesterday at 3:45 PM Lant_War Classic Anus Game The Fallen Jul 14, 2018 25,084 Kinda surprised nintendo never made a "dpad-centric" joycon for the switch that had a traditional dpad on top   SixelAlexiS Member Oct 27, 2017 9,037 Italy Kenny_Blankenship said: I don't think that was ever an expectation given the joycon's functionality. That hinged joycon is actually kinda wild!  spman2099 Member Oct 25, 2017 11,277 It was such an obvious peripheral that we should have expected Nintendo to never make it. They love not doing the obvious thing that would make people happy. It is the Nintendo way.   Bede-x Member Oct 25, 2017 11,789 Yeah, it's a shame. A handheld without a D-pad is just a bad handheld.   Derbel McDillet ▲ Legend ▲ Member Nov 23, 2022 23,125 Darknight said: Ya, I wish there was an official option, but I just ended up modding a set of Joy-Cons and put my own d-pad in. Even nicer is how easy it is to modify the detected color so it could match the color of my shell replacement. I have multiple sets of Joy-Cons so it's easy for me to switch to a different pair if I need the stock setup. Click to expand... Click to shrink... Joy Con 2 Pro coming to you for $100. Even do the color buttons. And add in some analog triggers (which they wouldn't). I'd roll my eyes at the price, but this is definitely a layup.  joffocakes Member Nov 15, 2017 1,920 Jaded Alyx said: I suspect SF6 may be fine given its huge input buffer. Click to expand... I thought about how the separate buttons in the joycon 'd-pad' aren't functionally that different from the buttons on a leverless controller - and that i'm often getting super arts when I don't want them, thanks to how generous the input buffer is.   TheLastOfPizzaCrUSt Member Jul 27, 2020 2,181 I was thinking of a Switch controller for PC gaming, is the dpad that bad? (for platformers, 2d games)   BennyWhatever Member Oct 27, 2017 5,425 US What I really want is for one where the dpad/direction pad buttons are on Top, with the joystick on Bottom. That doesn't even exist with 3rd party.   Hoa Member Jun 6, 2018 5,892 I'm fine with them providing the option but I like the buttons.   brochiller The Fallen Oct 25, 2017 2,255 Surely they have data showing that people use the joycons FAR more in regular handheld mode than they do holding them sideways. Could they just not have put a D pad on the left and still allowed people to press directions like buttons when it gets used like that the rare times it's needed?  JuniperAndSage Member Dec 27, 2019 6,885 Seattle TheLastOfPizzaCrUSt said: I was thinking of a Switch controller for PC gaming, is the dpad that bad? This thread's about the Joycons, which have 4 separate buttons instead of a D-pad.
