A day before the formal launch, the Chinese tech brand has shared new teasers online, disclosing the key specifications of the Reno 14 Pro. The Oppo Reno 14 Pro is confirmed to arrive with a 6.83-inch screen with slim bezels. It will offer battery upgrades over last year's Reno 13 Pro. It will come in three colourways, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The Oppo Reno 14 Pro is expected to run on a Dimensity 8450 chipset.Oppo Reno 14 Pro SpecificationsIn a post on Weibo, Oppo has confirmed the display and battery specifications of the upcoming Oppo Reno 14 Pro model. Like last year's Reno 13 Pro, the upcoming model is teased with a 6.83-inch display. The flat screen has narrow bezels and a hole punch cutout on the centre for the selfie shooter. It is confirmed to feature a 6,200mAh battery, which would be a considerable upgrade over its  predecessor's 5,800mAh battery.The Oppo Reno 14 Pro is teased to include a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. For reference, the Reno 13 Pro has an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. Oppo has also shared a few camera samples of the upcoming handset, showcasing the camera advancements of the new sensor.The launch of Oppo Reno 14 Pro will take place on May 15 in China at 4pm (1.30pm IST). It will be announced alongside standard Reno 14, Oppo Enco Clip earbuds and Oppo Pad SE tablet.The Oppo Reno 14 Pro is already confirmed to be released in Calla Lilly Purple, Mermaid, and Reef Black (translated from Chinese) shades. As id Software sits on the verge of releasing DOOM: The Dark Ages to the general public, one of the artists working at the studio has published a host of screenshots on his own website that might give us a hint to what the original concept for DOOM 4: Hell on Earth would have looked like. Along with those, the artist – Thao Le – has also uploaded screenshots that might indicate an early attempt at reimagining the original Quake using modern technology. According to Le’s website, the screenshots feature scenes and models that that were used directly in id Software’s in-house idTech 5 engine, and also doesn’t include finishing touches that you would typically see in a game, like radiosity rendering. According to Le, several of the scenes depicted in the screenshots were created by making use of a combination of existing assets from DOOM as well as original assets. The overall theme for these, as described by Le, is a re-imagined environment from Quake with modern touches. “It has two parts,” explains Le on the website. “The first one is stone and old machinery ‘melted’ into each other in the weird way that is not familiar with human logic. Gears, chains are moving to create dynamic [environment] and can be used as game play. The second part [environment] has just stones with very mystery structures in which stones are dynamically float or animated that causes the environments keeps changing during the combat.” When it comes to DOOM 4: Hell on Earth, Le has described the overarching themes of his work on the game’s environments as having to created a city with the key words being “abandoned” and “destruction”. The environments in these screenshots, which you can check out here, were created using idTech 4 that once again doesn’t feature finishing touches like PBR or Substance rendering. According to the resume on his website, Le has been working in the gaming industry since 2001, when he joined Lucas Arts and worked on titles like Gladius and Star Fighter 2. In 2004, Le moved to EA Los Angeles, where he worked on titles like Medal of Honor, a cancelled project dubbed Tiberium, a Lord of the Rings game, and Golden Eye. Since 2008, however, Le has been working with id Software. After having worked as an artist on the cancelled DOOM 4: Hell on Earth, he also worked on other shooters by the studio, including both Rage titles, DOOM (2016), and most recently, Quake Champions. Interestingly, Le hasn’t listed more recent games like DOOM Eternal or the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages as projects he has worked on. In the past, various developers from id Software have revealed quite a few details about DOOM 4. Celebrating the release of DOOM (2016), designer Kevin Cloud spoke about the cancelled project, saying that it felt more like a story-based game and less like one that could belong in the DOOM series. “We explored a direction and got to a certain point and felt like this really wasn’t capturing what we felt like was going to be a strong DOOM and what the fans would want from it.” More recently, footage from the cancelled title has been released for the sake of preservation courtesy of id Software and documentary-maker Noclip.

After years in development, beta tests, and delays, Square Enix has finally canceled the next Kingdom Hearts game, Kingdom Hearts Missing Link. The development team behind Missing Link announced the game’s cancellation on the official Kingdom Hearts website.“Although we worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players, we determined that it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time, leading us to the decision to cancel development,” the team said in a statement.On a slightly more positive note, Square Enix said it is “hard at work” on Kingdom Hearts 4, which will continue Sora, Donald, and Goofy’s adventures in a new story arc.Here’s the developer’s full statement on Kingdom Hearts Missing Link’s cancellation:We have made the decision to cancel the development of KINGDOM HEARTS Missing-Link.We wish to convey our heartfelt apologies to everyone who has been looking forward to the start of service.Although we worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players, we determined that it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time, leading us to the decision to cancel development.We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to everyone who gave us their support and assistance with the multiple closed beta tests. Missing Link was in development for Android and iOS devices, and was subject to multiple closed beta test since 2022. Square Enix last updated Kingdom Hearts fans’ on Missing Link’s fate in November 2024, when the publisher announced it has “made the difficult decision to delay the release” — which was originally intended for 2025.It’s unclear what, exactly, Square Enix couldn’t pull off with Missing Link, but the prospect of creating a compelling, sustainable, and profitable live-service mobile game in a crowded and entrenched market is daunting. Square Enix has also signaled it will “pursue a shift from quantity to quality” philosophy and “a regular launch cadence, focusing its development efforts and investments on titles with substantial potential to be loved by customers for years.” Apparently, Missing Link did not meet that bar.Square Enix hasn’t said much about how Missing Link tied into the overall Kingdom Hearts saga. But Square Enix has turned previous stories told through browser and mobile games into animated shorts and movies. Apple's 20th anniversary iPhone will adopt design changes that have never been seen in the industry so far, and it will celebrate two decades of the device. The radical design of the 20th anniversary iPhone will be completely bezel-less and without a visible frame, something that users have been demanding and, to be fair, craving for years now. Back in the day, we used to see unreal concepts of an all-screen design, and it appears that the company is finally molding our dreams into reality. The 20th anniversary iPhone will feature a completely bezel-less display with no visible frame on the sides A new report from ETNews claims that Apple plans to use "four-edge bending" display technology for the 2027 iPhone models. This means that the iPhone's display will not only bend from the sides but also from the top and bottom, making it a completely bezel-less iPhone without any frame bolstering it. We have previously seen the screens melting onto the side of the device on various Android flagships, but Apple's rendition could be a lot different and more complex. The true edge-to-edge display will show content flowing on all sides of the device, portraying a completely seamless experience. We have recently covered that Apple's 20th anniversary iPhone will make use of "mostly glass," presenting a curved iPhone without any cutouts in the display. This means that the company aims to subtract the Dynamic Island on the front and place all sensors and cameras under the display. The report is also in line with The Information's details, which claimed that at least one iPhone model in 2027 will feature a truly edge-to-edge display. Bloomberg also highlighted in a prior report that the iPhone would be a 'Pro' model instead of the standard or the 'Air.' The change will mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone and a radical design leap forward from the iPhone X, which launched in 2017. The iPhone X was a major step in the right direction as well, and Apple has kept more or less the same design language until the iPhone 16 Pro, with the Dynamic Island replacing the notch being the only difference. The company will achieve the new feat with a new OLED display driver IC (DDIC) based on 16nm FinFET process technology. Currently, the traditional driver uses a 28nm planar process. It will also allow the device to save power while delivering the same or better output. The new 16nm process is also a vital addition in terms of efficiency, as devices are getting thinner with each update, especially after the company announced the iPhone 17 Air. With a few other efficient power-saving mechanisms, future iPhone models could deliver the same all-day battery as the current models, if not better. The report mentions that Samsung and LG will be Apple's suppliers of choice for the technology.
