• Xbox Handheld Gaming Console to Arrive With Custom AMD Processor, Tipster Claims

Microsoft is said to be developing an Xbox handheld gaming console, and details of the device's specifications have surfaced online. While Asus is expected to launch an Xbox-branded handheld device with a dedicated Xbox key in the coming months, Microsoft's device could be equipped with a low-powered processor developed by AMD, according to a leaker. Microsoft is also expected to launch its next-gen gaming console in 2027, which is expected to compete with the purported PlayStation 6.AMD to Develop Custom Chip for 'Real' Microsoft HandheldAccording to details shared by user KeplerL2 on the NeoGAF forums, Microsoft will use a custom low-power APU designed by AMD on its handheld gaming device. The leaker doesn't provide additional details related to the power consumption or the architecture of the processor. The user claims that the custom APU designed by AMD will be used on the "real" Xbox handheld from Microsoft. Meanwhile, the Xbox branded handhelds that are produced by other OEMs like Asus, will be equipped with other processors like the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme, Intel's Lunar or Panther lake CPUs, Nvidia's N1, and the Snapdragon X Elite 2.Previous rumours had suggested Microsoft's first-party device might be equipped with an Arm-based chip, which sparked concerns related to backwards compatibility. If the leaker's claim is accurate, then the Xbox handheld should offer compatibility with a wider range of titles. While there's no word on when Microsoft's own Xbox handheld console will make its debut, Asus is expected to launch an Xbox branded model soon. The Asus ROG Ally 2 was recently listed on the US FCC website alongside the 'Project Kennan' model, which appears in a black colourway with an Xbox button. The black variant of the ROG Ally 2 is reportedly powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 ExtremeAPU, paired with 64GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the white variant has a less powerful AMD Aeirth PlusAPU. These models are expected to sport a 7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The next-gen ROG Ally console could debut soon with some notable hardware upgrades, and Asus previously teased its arrival via a post on X. At the time, the company didn't specify whether it would be an Xbox-branded device, but Microsoft responded to the post with a meme, which might have been a hint at the collaboration on the upcoming Project Kennan handheld device.

  • How to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu in Pokémon Go — should you pick Single or Rapid Strike?

Pokémon Go players can now evolve Kubfu into Urshifu, but the big fighting bear has two forms: Single Strike and Rapid Strike. Which one should you evolve your Kubfu into? How do you even evolve the Kubfu to begin with?

We’re here with the answers. Since the Kubfu can only Dynamax, the choice is pretty clear, based on what’s available in-game right now.

Below we explain how to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu in Pokémon Go and which of the two formsyou may want to pick, if you only have one.

How to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu in Pokémon Go

Depending on which version of Urshifu you want, you’ll need to complete a slightly different task. No matter which one you want, you will need to set Kubfu as your buddy.

For Single Strike Urshifu, you’ll need to defeat 30 dark-type Pokémon in raids or max battles with Kubfu as your buddy.

For Rapid Strike Urshifu, you’ll need to defeat 30 water-type Pokémon in raids or max battles with Kubfu as your buddy.

Kubfu does not need to be used in these battles, just set as your buddy.Once you meet that requirement, you can use 200 Kubfu Candy to evolve your little bear into a big bear.

Should you pick Single Strike or Rapid Strike Urshifu?

The general consensus is that the Single Strikeform is the better of the two forms across the board.

For PvP, Silph Road expert JRE47 gets into the nitty gritty in his own post, but notes that Single Strike is the correct choice among the two.

As for PvE content, the main lens to look at Urshifu through is aimed at Max Battles. Both versions of Dynamax Urshifu have their faults — Single Strikeis technically outclassed by Gengar, and Rapid Strikeis outclassed by Inteleon. Both of these are also not great fighting-types when compared to Gigantamax Machamp.

That being said, there’s just not many dark-type Max Battle attackers around right now, so Single Strike is probably the better choice. As of this writing, we don’t know how Gigantamax Urshifu is going to roll out. Will it be another research? A raid day event? But we’ll tackle that bridge when we get there.

You can also totally just pick which one you like better. In the image below, Single Strike Urshifu is on the left and Rapid Strike Urshifu is on the right. They have few differences outside of their stance.

How to get more Kubfu in Pokémon Go

As of writing this, there’s only two ways to get Kubfu.

Complete the first step of the “Might and Mastery” seasonal Special Research. This research needs to at least be started by June 3 at 10 a.m. in your local time, or you lose the chance to get it.

Buy the “Fuzzy Fighter” Special Research for This research is available again until May 27 at 8 p.m. in your local time. Once you buy it, you can take your time completing it. It was previously available at the start of the season for a limited time. If you bought this research at the start of the season, you cannot buy it again.

But, yep. That’s it! Though keep in mind that like we mentioned above, Gigantamax versions of Urshifu will likely debut in the game at some point. We don’t know how or when, but seeing as the Kubfu we got is Dynamax and not Gigantamax, you’ll be able to get both big bears at some pointin the future.

  • Embracer Group Rebrands to Fellowship Entertainment

Today, Embracer Group announced a rebranding to Fellowship Entertainment. This is a clear nod to The Lord of the Rings IP, whose rights Embracer purchased around two years ago for a relatively low sum. Following the acquisition, COO Matthew Karch claimed that the group's priority should be turning The Lord of the Rings into one of gaming's biggest franchises. Karch is no longer with Embracer, but the sentiment appears to have remained the same, given the brand name's choice.
Of course, Tolkien's beloved fantasy universe is just one of many big franchises owned by Fellowship Entertainment, such as Kingdom Come Deliverance, Metro, Dead Island, Killing Floor, Darksiders, Remnant, and Tomb Raider. The new company will house over 6K employees spread across 50 companies or so.
The other big news announced today is that Coffee Stain Groupis being spun off into a separately listed company. Lars Wingefors, co-founder and Group CEO of Embracer, said in a statement:
Coffee Stain Group has incredible talent, IPs and communities. To date, it has been a true recipe for success. I am confident in Anton's strategy and leadership and see a clear long-term opportunity in attracting and enabling partnerships with like-minded independent game developers and talents.
Anton Westbergh, co-founder and Group CEO of Coffee Stain, added:
We’re really proud of everything we’ve built as part of Embracer, and grateful for the support and trust we’ve received over the years. Now, as we take the step to become a separately listed company, it feels both exciting and, honestly, a little bit scary—but in a good way.
The games industry is more competitive than ever, but also more rewarding if you do things right, and we believe this move gives us the clarity and control to navigate the landscape better on our own terms. We can now focus even more on what we do best—supporting our developers, staying close to our communities, and building an even brighter future for Coffee Stain.
The Embracer name will live on, albeit stained after countless layoffs and closures, only as the privately held holding company of Fellowship Entertainment, Coffee Stain Group, and Asmodee Group. Lars Wingefors, as the main shareholder, will remain in control.
The company also provided an overview of its announced release schedule. In fiscal year 2025/2026, the following titles will be launched:

    Metal Eden
    Gothic 1 Remake
    REANIMAL
    Fellowship
    Wreckreation
    The next SpongeBob SquarePants game
    NORSE: Oath of Blood
    Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core
    Killing Floor 3
    Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

Embracer said a triple-A game previously scheduled for 2025/2026 is likely to be moved to 2026/2027. The company expects similar sales to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II for this title. They may be referring to the next Metro game, though there's no way to know for sure.

Even as Memorial Day sales are running hot, Garmin has quietly slashed its prices ahead of the holiday weekend. Its spring sale includes significant price cuts on Garmin's most popular models, from the rugged Fenix 8 series to the newly released Forerunner lineup. The sale arrives just days after Garmin unveiled its next-generation Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 models. As is typical when new models launch, previous versionsare seeing major discounts, creating an excellent opportunity for runners who don't need the latest features. Using the best price-checking tools, I've rounded up my favorite Garmin watches that you can snag at a serious discount right now. Fenix 8 seriesGarmin's flagship outdoor adventure watch rarely sees significant discounts, making this sale particularly noteworthy. The Fenix 8 series, known for its rugged construction, extensive battery life, and comprehensive tracking features, is seeing a 20% markdown, to from its list price of With advanced mapping, training metrics, and multi-sport capabilities, these watches are ideal for serious athletes and adventurers.Venu 3/3SThe Venu 3 and its smaller 3S stand out as Garmin's most competitive answer to traditional smartwatches. These models offer vibrant AMOLED displays, voice calling capabilities, and Garmin's ECG app—features typically associated with Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy watches. The Venu series balances comprehensive fitness tracking with everyday smart features, making it perfect for users who want health metrics without sacrificing smartwatch functionality. You can get it now for down from Forerunner seriesFellow runners, this is the series for us. And as my colleague Beth Skwarecki notes, the recent drops of the Forerunner 570 and 970 is excellent news—not because you should pick up those models necessarily, but because the older generations of Forerunner, which remain excellent watches, are now going for ludicrously low prices. Older models like the highly regarded 265, 255, and 955 are seeing significant price drops. And if you're hesitant to buy an older watch, keep in mind that Garmin's Forerunners have serious longevity: The Forerunner 265, with its bright AMOLED display and comprehensive running metrics, remains one of the best dedicated running watches on the market years after its release. The Forerunner 265 isThe Forerunner 255 isThe Forerunner 955 isVivoactive 5The Vivoactive series is Garmin'smost underrated fitness watch. • Sonos portable speakers are 25 percent off for Memorial Day

Sonos' speakers are known for their premium price tags, but if you're looking for a more affordable entry-point to the ecosystem, you can get up to 25 percent off some of the company's portable speakers and speaker bundles for Memorial Day. That includes off the Sonos Move 2, which brings the speaker's price down from to The Sonos Move 2 was introduced in 2023 as the more expensive follow-up to the original Move, Sonos' first "portable" speaker. You can argue over it's portability — the Move 2 makes more sense as something your carry to your backyard than take on a hike — but the speaker packs a punch and lets you play music over both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. We liked the Sonos Move 2 when we originally reviewed it, but took issue with how expensive it was, so this sale helps make splurging on it more palatable.

If you're looking for something even more portable and affordable, the Sonos Roam 2 is also on sale for off. Like the Move 2, the speaker has the ability to connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth outside while still being able to hook into your larger Sonos sound system over Wi-Fi at home. The Sonos Roam 2 offers some key improvements to the original Roam's design, too, like new colors and easier to understand buttons, while still providing the company's signature sound profile and 10 hours of battery life.
On top of the two speakers, you could also buy a bundle of a speaker and an accessory, like the Sonos Roam 2 and an OtterBox case, or a bundle of multiple speakers. You can get two Roam 2's for or a Sonos Roam 2 and Sonos Move 2 for for example.
Sonos has faced issues in the last year ironing out software problems — the bugs and missing features were so bad the company's CEO stepped down — but the fundamentals of how the company's speakers sound have remained great. With the ship mostly righted on the software side of things, a sale is a great time to see what all of the fuss is about.

  • There's Something Very Suspicious About These New Pokémon Plushies

Start SlideshowStart SlideshowImage: The Pokémon Company / KotakuRefreshing the Pokémon Center to see what new items have been added each day has become something of an obsession for me. The site adds new stock so incredibly frequently as to be constantly astonishing, and today is no different. The latest arrivals on the store are a new collection of plushies that feature Ditto in 22 new disguises. And they are adorable.Ditto is a Pokémon who is capable of taking on the size, shape and color of any other creature, and even mimicking its attacks. However, its weakness is faces, where it gives itself away with its two little round eyes and a curved-line smile. The result is the derpiest version of every Pokémon, and that gets even cuter when created in a cuddly form. Before I started working with Kotaku, I knew almost nothing about Pokémon. Five years ago, I’d started playing Pokémon GO with my then-five-year-old, and was beginning to learn the names of a few of the monsters. Now, I sit in front of a shelving unit filled with Pokémon plushies, tins, collection boxes, and more plushies. Which is to say nothing of the far larger cuddly pocket monsters around the bedroom, and the Squishmallow Gengar and Snorlax that now live in our living room. Last week I couldn’t stop myself from buying the sleeping Snorlax with a sleeping Pikachu on its belly. Today a finger-puppet Munchlax arrived in the mail. I’m 47 years old. I’m now staring at this wall of Ditto cuddlies, between 6 and 9 inches tall, and doing all in my power not to buy the lot. There’s a Snorlax one! There’s a Leafeon! Oh my goodness, there’s a Mimikyu. This isn’t fair. Let alone a Gengar and a Magikarp Ditto! And Dragonite! And Mew!This isn’t the first time the site has sold Ditto plushies. Mimikyu and Mareep Ditto previously appeared in 2020, along with other forms that aren’t included in the new collection: Misdreavus, Furret, Poipole, Lapras and Morelull. All have been sold out for years, and sadly show no sign of being restocked. Which is to say, if one of these is something you really want, it’s generally a good idea not to wait—the Pokémon Center is as peculiar and mercurial as the whole company, and there’s a good chance it’ll sell this lot and then never make them again. These Ditto plushies are undoubtedly going to be on sale at future card shows for three times the price, and you’ll kick yourself.Click on to have a look at all 22 of the new Ditto cuddlies, and be prepared to use up your entire week’s supply of “Awwww!”s.Previous SlideNext Slide2 / 23List slidesLucario DittoList slidesLucario DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide3 / 23List slidesDragonite DittoList slidesDragonite DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide4 / 23List slidesEevee DittoList slidesEevee DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide5 / 23List slidesPikachu DittoList slidesPikachu DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide6 / 23List slidesMareep DittoList slidesMareep DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide7 / 23List slidesFlareon DittoList slidesFlareon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide8 / 23List slidesJolteon DittoList slidesJolteon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide9 / 23List slidesVaporeon DittoList slidesVaporeon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide10 / 23List slidesGengar DittoList slidesGengar DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide11 / 23List slidesJigglypuff DittoList slidesJigglypuff DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide12 / 23List slidesLapras DittoList slidesLapras DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide13 / 23List slidesEspeon DittoList slidesEspeon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide14 / 23List slidesUmbreon DittoList slidesUmbreon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide15 / 23List slidesMimikyu DittoList slidesMimikyu DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide16 / 23List slidesVulpix DittoList slidesVulpix DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide17 / 23List slidesLeafeon DittoList slidesLeafeon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide18 / 23List slidesSylveon DittoList slidesSylveon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide19 / 23List slidesGlaceon DittoList slidesGlaceon DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide20 / 23List slidesMew DittoList slidesMew DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide21 / 23List slidesSnorlax DittoList slidesSnorlax DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / KotakuPrevious SlideNext Slide22 / 23List slidesMagikarp DittoList slidesMagikarp DittoPhoto: The Pokémon Company / Kotaku.

There's Something Very Suspicious About These New Pokémon Plushies
