One of DC Comics cult hits returns this spring, with Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma, a six-issue prestige format miniseries written by Detective Comics Ram V. For the series, V reunites with his Grafitys Wall collaborator, artist Anand RK (of Batman: Urban Legends Wight Witch story and many, many cool as heck covers) and Resurrection Man is exactly the kind of metaphysical, fantasy-adjacent science fiction thats right up Vs alley.Created in 1997 by writing duo Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, and artist Jackson Butch Guice, Mitch Shelley is an amnesiac man who finds he cannot stay dead: Every time he comes back from death, he loses whatever superpower he had in his past life, and gains a new one. Despite the moniker Resurrection Man, Mitch was never really a superhero. He was more of a guy who wandered around trying to figure out his enigmatic past, while helping the needy he encountered and dodging the dangerous, immortal forces that had an interest in him.Abnett, Lanning, and Guices original Resurrection Man ran for 27 issues, then returned for a shorter-lived New 52 series in 2011. In this new series, After living and dying his latest life, Shelley awakes with a new purpose to go along with his latest power: saving the universe, according to DCs news release. This version of Resurrection Man must battle across time and space against a sadistic Word War II internment camp captain who has inherited a twisted version of Shelleys abilities. As the lines of cosmic order begin to blur, Mitch Shelley will literally die to save the universe, more than once.This is a story Ive wanted to tell since I first started writing for DC, V said in the news release. Its lingered and stayed and got its hooks into my mind, and my love and excitement for the character and story has only grown. Part of the joy of writing comics, for me, is getting to reinvent, reimagine characters in a way that speaks to my own preoccupations and joys; with Resurrection Man: Quantum Karma, I hope readers will share in my excitement as Anand, [colorist Mike Spicer] and [letterer Aditya Bidikar] and I tell a storyof endless lifetimes, saving universes and falling in love, spanning the length of all existence.Butch also returns to draw one interior synopsis page in each issue (seen at right below), recapping the history of Mitch Shelley. Master & Dynamic has become known for its wireless over-ear headphones, like the MW75, thanks to their unique design and premium quality. Google has another new product for you to test, and once again, it's centered on AI: It's called Daily Listen, and it sums up news topics from your Discover feed and web searches to produce a short podcast of the news headlines. You can think of it as a personalized daily news bulletin created just for you.There's no official Google announcement of the feature, but the company provided the key details to multiple outlets, including 9to5Google. It's also being promoted on social media by Google engineers including Simon Tokumine and Usama Bin Shafqatthey both work at Google Labs, where Google tests a lot of its newest ideas.Daily Listen lives in the Google app for Android or iOS on your phone, and right now is a Search Labs feature exclusive to users in the U.S. You need to opt into Daily Listen to give it a try: Tap the science flask icon in the top left corner of the Home tab in the Google app to sign up (according to Tokumine, spaces are limited). You can also find Search labs on the web here. This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. With that done, Daily Listen should pop up under the main search bar on the Home tab in the app. Tap on it to get a roughly five-minute summary of the news Google thinks you'll be interested inbased on what you've been searching for, and what's on the Discover pagenarrated by an AI voice. You also get a text transcript of what's being said, and links to the articles referenced at the end.The usual podcast playback controls are here, and you can adjust playback speed if you need to. There's also a familiar "Generative AI is experimental" messagegiven the nature of generative AI, the assumption is that parts of your artificially generated news round up might not be completely accurate, but of course this is something Google hasn't mentioned while launching the feature.If this tech seems familiar, it may be because you can do something similar in the Google NotebookLM research tool: In that app, you can produce a document based on any combination of documents, text, and web links you've gathered together as a project. Presumably some of the same AI tricks are involved in summarizing the info, tweaking the tone, and producing a synthesized spoken audio version of the results. If youve tried NotebookLMs Audio Overviews, its kind of like getting a quick rundown of things to know, personalized for you!"There's no guarantee that we'll eventually see this roll out to everyone as anything more than an experimentGoogle is notoriously bad at sticking with productsbut if it does have a long-term future, expect it to grow in terms of features and scope. Perhaps Google will let you interact with the podcast or at least customize it, as you can now do with the podcast maker in NotebookLM (Google has confirmed both Daily Listen and NotebookLM use the same AI).Apparently it might take a day or so for the feature to show up in Search Labs, and to be available once you've opted in. As with everything else released through Google's experimental platform, you'll be able to offer feedback on how well the feature works: Start with the thumbs up or thumbs down icons on the podcast player.

Samsung made a bunch of announcements at CES 2025, including a slew of new laptops and TVs, but as to be expected, the company will save some of the biggest news for its own event. Samsung will host its first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year on January 22, 2025 at 1 PM ET, where it will likely show off the latest in Galaxy AI and the new Galaxy devices it runs on. The event will take place in San Jose, and like previous years, you can reserve the company's new gear in advance (and even before it's officially announced) for $50 off and the chance to win a $5,000 Samsung gift card. That's on top of Samsung's typically generous trade-in credit this year the company says you can get up to an additional $900 credit if you trade-in an old device. Given the timing of Unpacked, Samsung is likely to announce the Galaxy S25 series, and there's a good chance it'll use the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and sport an updated design, at least on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. What might be more interesting are the non-smartphone devices Samsung could show off. The company is rumored to already have a Galaxy Ring 2 in the works, and there's a good chance Samsung's "Project Moohan" Android XR headset could make an appearance at the event. For the third year running, Xbox is kicking off its annual slate of games showcases with a Developer Direct. The latest edition will take place on January 23 at 1PM ET.As always, the Developer Direct will take a deep dive into several upcoming Xbox games. The developers of South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Doom: The Dark Ages will reveal more details about those projects. Perhaps we'll even get a release date or two. On top of that, Xbox is promising a visit to another mystery studio that will show off a brand-new game.The first Developer Direct included the reveal and news of the immediate release of the wonderful Hi-Fi Rush. So here's hoping for a surprise that's just as delectable. Even so, South of Midnight and Doom: The Dark Ages are among the games I'm most looking forward to this year, so I'm happy to get another look at those.
