You can trust VideoGamer. Our team of gaming experts spend hours testing and reviewing the latest games, to ensure you're reading the most comprehensive guide possible. Rest assured, all imagery and advice is unique and original. Check out how we test and review games hereArrowhead has a lot of plans for Helldivers 2 in 2025. A lot of it is being worked on in secret behind-the-scenes, but fans can rest assure there is more in the pipeline for the game and series than just a movie for the big screen. A patch has just been released for the game, and, although it has no significant balance changes or additions, the new Helldivers 2 update does fix an issue that was driving players nuts. New Helldivers 2 update delivers fixes Below are the new Helldivers 2 update 01.002.005 patch notes as shared on the games official Discord: Crash Fixes and Soft-locks:Fixed a crash caused by Illuminate ships despawningFixed some potential crashes when the player quits the gameMiscellaneous fixes:Fixed an issue with jitter when aiming through scopesFix applied to reduce random disconnections in Illuminate missionsFixed an issue with the STA-X3 W.A.S.P Launchers targeting not properly working when using one owned by another playerIts only a minor patch as theres no buffs, nerfs, or new content, but fixes are always necessary, and fans are particularly ecstatic that Arrowhead fixed the jittering when aiming through scopes. Reacting to the above patch notes on Reddit, there are a lot of elated comments such as, The jitter was driving me nuts, so glad its fixed. When aiming through scopes, it should now be smooth when moving left, right, up, down, rather than before where there was a jitter. Fans are also relieved that Arrowhead has fixed issues with crashing and disconnections caused by the Illuminate, and players are happy about the W.A.S.P fix, too. Unfortunately, not everything can be fixed in one patch, so there will be issues still unresolved in HD2. Hopefully any other problems will be fixed in the near future as Arrowhead continue to support and improve the game throughout 2025. Longevity-Obsessed Tech Millionaire Discontinues De-Aging Drug Out of Concerns That It Aged Him
Bryan Johnson has long been obsessed with de-aging himself. The 46-year-old multimillionaire, who made his money by founding various tech companies, has spent years of his life and millions of dollars trying to get his body to resemble that of a teenager. His wellness regimen includes taking 54 different supplements every day for breakfast. Those pills are ostensibly helping him to extend his lifespan and, as he has put it, break the world record in age reversal. In recent months, however, Johnson quit taking at least one of those supplements for fear that, instead of de-aging him, it was actually accelerating his aging. In November, Johnson tweeted that he had stopped taking a supplement known as rapamycin. Despite the immense potential from pre-clinical trials, my team and I came to the conclusion that the benefits of lifelong dosing of Rapamycin do not justify the hefty side-effects (intermittent skin/soft tissue infections, lipid abnormalities, glucose elevations, and increased resting heart rate), he said. With no other underlying causes identified, we suspected Rapamycin, and since dosage adjustments had no effect, we decided to discontinue it entirely. He added: Additionally, on October 27th, a new pre-print indicated that Rapamycin was one of a handful of supposed longevity interventions to cause an increase/acceleration of aging in humans across 16 epigenetic aging clocks. In other words, after taking this experimental drug for half a decade, a new study came out that suggested it might be doing the exact opposite of what Johnson wanted it to do and could, additionally, be giving him skin infections.Johnson, whose obsession with living longer led him to start a new health and wellness startup called Blueprint, is also the subject of a recent Netflix documentary. The doc quotes Johnson as saying that he has the most aggressive rapamycin intake of anyone in the industry, the New York Post reports. I take this because theres potentially some longevity benefits, he adds, noting that its the kind of thing in the longevity community that people are excited about, whereas outside the longevity community, its still kind of crazy. Many of Johnsons suggestions for longevity arent exactly groundbreaking. His basic rules for living longer, as prescribed by his Blueprint website, include things like not drinking or smoking, eating a healthy diet and exercising a few hours a week. Blueprint sells subscriptions to bags of various protein powders, which the company calls longevity mixes. A recent review of the subscription service called it just another supplement product, albeit one with a very interesting individual and story behind its creation. The review also noted that while the powder regimen included some good things, it was ultimately very expensive and might not be a good fit for different kinds of people. While Blueprint may be somewhat mundane, Johnsons experiments on himself are not. In the past, he has used his own teenage sons blood to test whether transfusions from a younger person had any direct health benefit on someone his age (he has since discovered that they do not) and, more recently, used shock treatments on his genitals in an apparent effort to reverse age his penis and, thus, conjure the erections of an 18-year-old. Theres no real telling what the result of Johnsons bizarre self-experimentation will be. At this point, we really only have the physical results which arent great so far. Johnson, who once just looked like a normal dude, now self-admittedly resembles a vampire.

The first teaser trailer for the Until Dawn movie is actually more of a mini behind-the-scenes showcase, but a proper look is apparently coming soon
On RepeatThe first teaser trailer for the Until Dawn movie is actually more of a mini behind-the-scenes showcase, but a proper look is apparently coming soonAnd yep, it's Groundhog Day again.Image credit: Sony News by Oisin Kuhnke Contributor Published on Jan. 14, 2025 You shouldn't expect much from the first Until Dawn movie teaser, though it does at least try to justify why it's different from the game. The Until Dawn movie has mostly been wrapped up in mystery since its announcement last year, but last week a bit more light was shed on it, revealing that it'll feature completely new characters and a fresh story. That obviously might be a bit disappointing to fans of the original game, seeing as the angle that the filmmakers appear to have gone for is more Until Dawn in spirit and name rather than practice, even if Peter Stormare is reprising his role as Dr. Hill. But a not-quite-teaser trailer was released by Sony earlier today, showing off some select clips from the film, explaining how this film will be different from the game.Watch on YouTube"One of the creative things the game did is that people make different choices and die in different ways," Until Dawn movie director David F. Sandberg explains in the teaser. "The movie has this mechanic where things start over and they get to try again. Every time they come back to life, it's like they are in a new horror genre. To survive, they have to make it until dawn." Get it? Do you get it? Like the name of the game! This concept probably won't fly with fans who just wanted a straight up adaptation, but to give them the benefit of the doubt, how else do you adapt a game with multiple branching pathways and endings? To see this content please enable targeting cookies. If this isn't quite enough to convince you yet, Sony did also say that a trailer is "coming soon", which you'd hope is very soon given the movie is out April 25, just three months away now. Let's just hope none of us end up in a timeloop situation like the one Until Dawn is presenting in the meantime.

OpenAI appoints BlackRock exec to its board
OpenAI has appointed an executive at investment firm BlackRock to its board of directors. Adebayo Bayo Ogunlesi, a senior managing director at BlackRock and CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners, an infrastructure investing platform, has joined OpenAIs board, OpenAI announced on Tuesday. In a statement, OpenAI board chairman Bret Taylor said that Ogunlesi has an exceptional track record of driving success in organizations with global reach, expertly navigating complex, and dynamic commercial landscapes.Ogunlesi spent 23 years at financial services company Credit Suisse, where he held several positions, including executive vice chairman of Credit Suisses investment banking division. Previously, Ogunlesi was an attorney with the New York law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and served as a law clerk to Thurgood Marshall, the nations first Black U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Ogunlesi also sits on the boards of BlackRock, Topgolf Callaway Brands, Kosmos Energy Holdings, and Terminal Investment Limited. The rapid advancement and development of AI offers a unique opportunity to build a better future. As part of this, thoughtful strategies and investment in infrastructure will be key to unlocking AIs full potential and delivering its benefits responsibly, Ogunlesi said in a press release. Im excited to contribute to this effort and look forward to being a part of the OpenAI board.OpenAIs current board bares little resemblance to its board in late 2023, the members of which fired CEO Sam Altman only to reinstate him days later. As a condition for returning, Altman demanded a remade board and he eventually got his wish.OpenAIs board today includes Taylor, Altman,Quora CEO Adam DAngelo, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation CEO Sue Desmond-Hellmann, former NSA director Paul M.Nakasone, former Sony Corporation of America President Nicole Seligman, Instacart CEO Fidji Simo, economist Larry Summers, and Carnegie Mellon computer scientist Zico Kolter. DAngelo is the sole holdover from the previous board.

Were awarding this project not only for the excellence of the architecture, its urbanism, and for the very, very complex programs that come together, but also for its contribution to the field in general. A consistent thread is the power of the narrative of storytelling, Guthrie added. Where did the vision start? Where are the diagrams? Give us the illustrative impact because ultimately we hope that these projects are going to impact people. I think we felt like people-centric projects were paramount and important.Of the 23 awards conferred, 17 were in the architecture category, 3 were interiors, 1 was in the project category, and 2 went to urban design submissions. Snhetta and Studio Gang received multiple awards in different categories, to name but a few.We were very impressed by projects that transform the city theyre located in, Passmore noted, and I think this was really the top tier example of that and not just the city, but the harbor and how it interacts with the economy of the city was really important in this project as well.Best in CompetitionKaohsiung Port Terminal street view (Iwan Baan)Kaohsiung Port Terminal, Reiser+Umemoto, RUR ArchitectureA highly anticipated project built in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, took home AIANYs Best in Competition Award. Paper or Porcelain? Saori Matsushita Folds Delicate Ceramic into Playful Objects
All images courtesy of Saori Matsushita, shared with permissionPaper or Porcelain? Saori Matsushita Folds Delicate Ceramic into Playful ObjectsJanuary 14, 2025ArtCraftGrace EbertIt might be tempting to throw one of Saori Matsushitas paper airplanes across the room, but we promise you the landing would be less than graceful. From her Seattle studio, Matsushita transforms delicate sheets of porcelain into vases, mugs, and sculptures that appear as if they were folded from paper. Punctured with binder holes and the fringed edge of a torn-out sheet, the functional objects bear the iconic blue lines of a school notebook. Other works are similarly deceptive, like the cloth sack or collared-shirt vessels that capture the folds, bends, and bulges of fabric in ceramic. To create these pieces, Matsushita utilizes nerikomi, a Japanese pottery technique that involves layering colored bodies of clay together and then cutting them to reveal a patterned section. Stripes of blue and pink appear through stacking slabs rather than the glazing process, and the artist builds most works by hand (head to her YouTube to see more). When Matsushita began incorporating this labor-intensive method into her practice in 2023, it helped develop whats now become her signature style. She shares: Previously, I focused on Neriage, a technique where colored clays are combined and wheel-thrown. However, I transitioned to Nerikomi and began treating porcelain sheets like origami or leather to create more unique, personal expressions of my vision. I feel this shift has allowed me to establish a style that truly reflects my individuality as an artist. One of Matsushitas pieces will be featured in Saltstone Ceramics annual Mug Madness tournament this March. Follow the latest in her practice, along with announcements about new works available in her shop, on Instagram.Next article
