• I tried boneless wings from 5 major chain restaurants, and Chili's offered the best value for Super Bowl Sunday
    www.businessinsider.com
My least favorite wings came from Buffalo Wild Wings, which surprised me.Buffalo Wild Wings offers a variety of different flavors of boneless wings. Erin McDowell/Business Insider I tried the same three flavors of wings from the five chains: Buffalo, garlic Parmesan, and barbecue. At Buffalo Wild Wings, an order of 15 boneless wings, which included up to three different sauce flavors, cost $24.99, excluding tax. However, Buffalo Wild Wings has been running a number of promotions recently that could help lower costs. The chain is offering a value deal that includes 20 boneless wings in up to four sauces and a large order of fries for $16.99, excluding tax, when ordered online or through the BWW app.Given that the chain is famous for its wings, I was surprised that the chain's boneless wings landed last in my ranking.Buffalo Wild Wings' boneless wings looked more like chicken nuggets than boneless wings. The Buffalo boneless wings had a buttery flavor. Erin McDowell/Business Insider Some of the wings were meatier than others, but I thought Buffalo Wild Wings' wings were the smallest when compared to the other chains.Still, I enjoyed the flavor of the boneless wings, particularly the classic Buffalo wings. They had a sweet buttery flavor without packing too much spice. The flavor of the Parmesan garlic wings could have been amped up.I thought the Parmesan garlic boneless wings could have been more flavorful. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The wings had a slightly pungent garlic savoriness, but they weren't as flavorful as the ones I tried from the other chains. The breading was crunchy and had a peppery flavor to it, but I thought it slightly overpowered the sauce. The honey barbecue wings were coated in the most sauce. The barbecue wings had the most sauce on them. Erin McDowell/Business Insider Of the three kinds I tried from Buffalo Wild Wings, these were my favorite. The wings were sticky and sweet, thanks to the addition of the honey in the sauce, and paired nicely with the chain's creamy ranch. The inside of the boneless wings was moist. The boneless wings from Buffalo Wild Wings were juicy. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The wings were juicy on the inside, which balanced nicely with the crunchy outer breading. In some ways, these boneless wings reminded me of standard chicken nuggets.Boneless wings are made exclusively from chicken breast, while nuggets are typically made from a blend of various chicken parts. These did taste better than most chicken nuggets I've had, though I wasn't blown away overall. In the end, I'll go for the burger next time.Next up were the boneless wings from TGI Fridays.I ordered boneless wings from TGI Fridays in three flavors. Erin McDowell/Business Insider I ordered boneless wings from TGI Fridays in three flavors: Buffalo, garlic Parmesan, and apple-butter barbecue. I ordered them as part of the chain's combo platter, which allows you to choose three appetizers to try.At the TGI Fridays I visited in Massachusetts, the order cost $18.29, excluding tax, and came with eight of each flavor wing. The Buffalo wings were small but packed a decent amount of flavor. The Buffalo wings came tossed in Frank's Red Hot Buffalo sauce, a grocery-store staple. Erin McDowell/Business Insider TGI Fridays doesn't seem to have its own house Buffalo sauce and instead douses its wings in Frank's Red Hot Buffalo sauce, a pretty standard grocery-store hot sauce.I did enjoy the overall flavor, but these wings didn't bring the heat for me. Compared to the other Buffalo boneless wings I tried, these were just average.I was most impressed by the Parmesan garlic boneless wings. The garlic Parmesan wings were crunchy and coated in sauce. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The wings had a super crispy coating and were drenched in a savory, garlicky sauce. The wings had a crunch when I bit in which I didn't quite get with the Buffalo boneless wings and paired excellently with the chain's ranch.I also liked the apple-butter barbecue wings. The apple butter barbecue wings had a slight sweetness. Erin McDowell/Business Insider I could distinctly taste the apple butter in this sauce, which gave it a sweet, almost molasses-like flavor. Though the size varied, these wings also were slightly bigger and crunchier than the Buffalo wings. The wings were filled with a good amount of chicken breast meat, but the sauce truly stole the show. The wings were flavored mostly with the three sauces. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The wings were reasonably thick, but the chicken and breading lacked seasoning or flavor on their own the sauces provided the majority of the flavor, which wasn't necessarily a criticism but an observation. The boneless wings from Wingstop landed in the middle of the pack.My local Wingstop offers 13 flavors to choose from. Erin McDowell/Business Insider Boneless chicken products like boneless wings, chicken nuggets, and tenders are having a moment right now. However, Wingstop's senior director of culinary, Larry Bellah, told BI that the chain's bone-in traditional wings are still its most popular offering.Bellah also said the five most popular sauce flavors at Wingstop are lemon pepper, Original Hot, hickory-smoked barbecue, garlic Parmesan, and hot honey.I ordered 20 boneless wings, which allowed me to select up to three sauce flavors for $24.69, excluding tax.The Buffalo boneless wings were crispy on the outside. The Buffalo boneless wings from Wingstop. Erin McDowell/Business Insider They were smaller than the top two brands I tried but had a lot of flavor. Wingstop doesn't have a Buffalo sauce, but their Original Hot flavor is the chain's own spin on a classic. They were buttery, with just the right level of spice. The garlic Parmesan wings were covered in cheese. The boneless wings were topped with Parmesan cheese. Erin McDowell/Business Insider I found the wings to be quite flavorful overall, but the Parmesan cheese stood out much more prominently than the garlic. The garlic flavor was subtle, almost overshadowed by the richness of the cheese. The hickory-smoked barbecue flavor was sweet and smoky. The barbecue wings paired the best with ranch. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The sauce had a bold, smoky flavor with a rich balance of sweet, tangy, and savory notes, and coated every square inch of the boneless wing.Of all the sauces, this flavor paired best with the chain's ranch, which was creamy and mildly tart. The chicken meat inside was juicy and filling. The boneless wings were moist and flavorful. Erin McDowell/Business Insider Though these wings were small, they were thick. I thought they were an excellent value for the price. The chicken meat inside tasted high-quality and shredded apart with every bite.My second favorite wings came from Applebee's.The boneless wings from Applebee's came with celery and ranch. Erin McDowell/Business Insider Applebee's seriously delivered on flavor. However, the chain didn't clinch the win for me based on value.I found it difficult to try a variety of different flavors of boneless wings from Applebee's. The chain has an appetizer platter called the Classic Combo that's somewhat similar to the Triple Dipper from Chili's, but it's not fully customizable.I ended up ordering two separate orders of eight boneless wings, which cost $16.99 each, at my local Applebee's in Brooklyn. I also got another order of eight boneless wings as part of the chain's "2 for $2X" deal, which included an appetizer and two entres for $30, excluding tax.In the end, I ended up paying more than at any other chain so that I could try multiple flavors. However, Applebee's does sometimes offer promotions like $0.50 boneless wings that could cut costs. The Buffalo wings were packed with flavor. The Buffalo wings from Applebee's were the spiciest out of all the chains. Erin McDowell/Business Insider As the official grill and bar sponsor of the NFL this year, I expected the chain's boneless wings to be good and they delivered.Out of all the boneless Buffalo wings I tried, these were the spiciest and most flavorful. They paired seamlessly with the chain's ranch, which was tangy and creamy and perfectly balanced out the heat. The garlic Parmesan wings were also super flavorful.I liked the crispy exterior of the wings. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The outside of the wing was crispy and crunchy, and the garlic Parmesan sauce added a savory, nutty flavor to each bite. The honey barbecue wings came coated in a sticky sauce. The barbecue wings from Applebee's came coated in sauce. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The wings were perfectly balanced between sweet and smoky.I was also impressed by the thickness of these wings. The Applebee's boneless wings impressed me. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The wings were impressively large and packed with tender, juicy chicken. When it came to flavor, Applebee's was exceptional. All three sauces I tried were well-executed and flavorful. However, the garlic Parmesan stood out as my favorite. Its rich, creamy blend of nutty Parmesan and savory garlic created a bold and indulgent flavor that took the wings to another level. While the other sauces were delicious, the garlic Parmesan offered a perfect balance of crispy breading and zesty flavor that kept me going back for more.Chili's came in first place for its flavorful boneless wings at a great value.I ordered the boneless wings as part of Chili's Triple Dipper. Erin McDowell/Business Insider I got 15 wings in three different flavors as part of Chili's popular Triple Dipper appetizer combo, which allowed me to select three appetizers for $17.29, excluding tax, at a Chili's in Massachusetts. The chain has seen great success with its viral Triple Dipper.A representative for Chili's told BI that the chain sold over 29 million Triple Dippers in 2024, and Triple Dipper sales accounted for 14% of Chili's total sales in the second quarter, up from 11% last quarter.Chili's also said the Triple Dipper and fried mozzarella "bricks," which have also gone viral for their lengthy cheese pulls, are attracting younger customers and getting them to come back more often. The boneless wings from Chili's were the largest out of all the chains. The wings were bigger than the other chains I tried. Erin McDowell/Business Insider The wings appeared to be baked in the Buffalo sauce rather than tossed in it after cooking. The Buffalo sauce was sweet and slightly spicy, with a light buttery flavor. I got a strong citrus flavor coming through, which I also enjoyed. The garlic Parmesan boneless wings were really flavorful. The garlic Parmesan wings had a strong flavor. Erin McDowell/Business Insider I was again impressed by the size of the wings and thought the savory punch of garlic really came through. The wings were moist yet crispy, and I couldn't get enough of them. The barbecue wings came coated in a smoky sauce. The barbecue wings were the sauciest. Erin McDowell/Business Insider Unlike the others, which were almost dry to the touch, these boneless wings came completely drenched in the chain's house barbecue sauce.I thought the sauce was smoky with a slight sweetness, but they could have benefited from a little acid for some brightness.I loved the breading and the thickness of the wings. These were the winners for me.I thought the Triple Dipper was a good value. Erin McDowell/Business Insider They were full of chicken meat, which made this an incredibly filling appetizer to share among a few people at a Super Bowl party or keep all to yourself while catching the game. For under $20, the Triple Dipper delivered incredible value, offering a generous portion of high-quality wings that didn't skimp on flavor or size. It's a standout deal that perfectly balances affordability with crave-worthy flavor it's no surprise this menu item has become such a hit.

  • WWE 2K25's Underground match is the closest we'll get to a Def Jam Fight For NY sequel
    www.dailystar.co.uk
WWE 2K25 marks the debut of NXT's Underground mode, and it might be the closest we'll ever get to recreating that Def Jam magic here's why I'm desperate to play moreTech17:00, 08 Feb 2025Wouldn't like to tackle this lot in an Underground match(Image: 2K)WWE 2K25 launches in just a few weeks on March 14, and with WrestleMania getting closer, the 2K team is sharing new updates. We've already seen Showcase mode and experienced chain wrestling in our extensive hands-on preview from earlier this week, but one of the things I couldn't talk about until now is the Underground mode. This match type sees the ring ropes removed, and the glitz of the arena dimmed, swapped for a grungier, more dangerous vibe. Around the outside of the ring are bunch of random NPCs, and whole thing has a sort of "kid-friendly Fight Club" feel to it.Still, as I pulled off a curb-stomp to send Jacob Fatu to a TKO (there are no pinfalls here), I couldn't help but feel like this is the closest we'll get to a sequel to Def Jam: Fight For NY. Walk with me, dear reader, not along the Road to WrestleMania, but down memory lane.As we mentioned in our list of best and worst wrestling games, there was a time where EA released it's own grappler, Def Jam Vendetta. Swapping superstars for hip-hop stars, it was great fun, but narrow in scope. Its sequel, Fight For NY, opened things up to offer more surprising locations and match types, like bars, alleyways, and more, and also added characters including Carmen Electra, Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg and punk legend Henry Rollins. It's bizarre, but it played brilliantly, with a system that meant wearing down an opponent would open an opportunity to unleash a finisher that could KO them instantly.A small sampling of the Fight For NY rosterv(Image: EA Sports )WWE 2K's new Underground match type is nowhere near as grisly as that (it always felt a bit grim throwing Busta Rhymes in front of a moving car), but there's some of that DNA here. With no pinfalls, your chosen Superstar has no choice but to whittle down their opponent's health and go for the tapout, or unleash a finisher to, well, 'FINISH THEM'.After both players are absolutely battered, it could lead to some incredibly tense counters, as you know you don't have the safety net of a kickout. Will you pull the trigger first, or let your opponent attempt their own finisher so you can counter it into your own?Damian Priest could certainly handle himself in the Underground (Image: 2K)In my preview, I found running finishers were particularly useful because a quick boost of acceleration followed by, say, an Uso spear, is a great way to catch an unaware opponent off-guard.Article continues belowWhile 2K25 will feature more match types than you'll know what to do with, this is how I'll be settling my feuds. For more on WWE 2K25, check out WWE Superstar Natalya's complaint about her character model, and the full list of grapplers on the roster so far.For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletters.

  • PlayStation Network still down due to PSN maintenance as fans ask 'is it 2011 again?'
    www.dailystar.co.uk
After more than 12 hours, the PlayStation Network shows no signs of returning as fans start to make their feelings known to Sony and ask for a 'welcome back package'Tech15:25, 08 Feb 2025Updated 15:30, 08 Feb 2025It could be a while, folks(Image: EMPICS Entertainment)PlayStation owners, we wish we had better news, but if you're a PS Plus subscriber looking to play anything today you're better off going for a walk with the dog, doing the weekly shop, or just about anything else.As we pointed out earlier, we were online when things began, but it seems to have gotten worse in the hours that followed overnight UK time as even Sony's video platform has gone. That's led to some speculation the outage was caused by a 'hack' of some description, not helped by Sony staying relatively silent outside of acknowledging there is some kind of issue. Fans have started making their voices heard, too, and some are demanding compensation for the outage.Content cannot be displayed without consentIn response to the Ask PlayStation account's lone post on X (formerly Twitter) about the incident, one angry gamer said "Yeah, been down since 6 pm, so 5 hours now sucks I CANT PLAY ANY OFFLINE GAMES I OWN cuz my PS5 cant verify I own it EVERY TIME I LOG IN instead of, you know, just SAVING THAT INFO TO THE SYSTEM. Sure would make this downtime an almost non-issue."That was ten years ago, so we hope they found something else to do.The post has a 'Community Note' pointing out that it's not some PlayStation users, but all of them.Another simply said "Imagine that. 2011 again?" pointing to the infamous 2011 PSN outage that shook the games industry and customers' faith in PlayStation.A data breach saw users' payment details leak, exposing data for over 77 million PSN users including payment information. The entire PlayStation network was down for 23 days, and the incident reportedly cost Sony more than $170 million in costs.Sony issued a series of free games as a 'welcome back' bundle, but while we're likely still some time away from that kind of "make good" approach, it hasn't stopped some cheeky gamers from asking."Well forgive and forget if you bring back PS Home and a welcome-back package like this," one player said.Over on Reddit, the PlayStation fanbase joked that they're assembling like the Avengers at the end of Endgame, but frustration is growing as they wonder if it's another hack.Perhaps most damaging for Sony is that Google Trend data shows a lot of people are searching for the PS5's rival, the Xbox Series X. Could this force people to jump ship, or at least move to owning two systems?Content cannot be displayed without consentSony's network was running as normal around 10:30 pm last night (Friday, February 7) because this writer was able to complete a purchase before settling in to play Destiny. When I snapped a screenshot from the game, I was unable to share it at 11:30 pm, while EA's servers were uncontactable in EA FC 25, too. The above post on X (formerly Twitter) was shared seemingly as the first complaints about PSN were coming in.Article continues belowFor more on all things PlayStation, check out how the storefront accidentally leaked the release date for the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake. Looking for things to play while PSN is down? Check out our list of games launching in February across Switch, Xbox, and PC.Once it is back, there are free PS Plus games to download, too.For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletters.

Located on the Domaine de Bmale, in Saint-Denis-de-Pile (Gironde), the BOMA cultural center includes the construction of a media library housing a toy library, digital spaces, a branch of the county library, social and cultural services departments (legal aid, administrative support, etc.) and a performance hall with a capacity of 130 people; and the rehabilitation of chartreuse hosting a weddings and municipal council hall, a reception room, thematic workshops and offices.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture! We wanted the project to blend discreetly into the landscape while ensuring that it was easily identifiable as a major local public facility, so we used the nature of the site and its surroundings to propose a restrained, pared-back composition that enhances the intrinsic atmosphere of the site and converses with both its built environment and the landscape. Located along the stone perimeter wall of the estate, the media library acts as a signal marking the entrance to the park. It takes the shape of a ground-floor building made up of two horizontal lines that frame the landscape: the wooden terrace and the six-metre-wide cantilevered roof overhang running all the way around the building. In terms of materials, the transparency of the glass combined with the warm aspect of the wood, allows the project to be subtly integrated into the landscape.Save this picture! The transparent faade next to the main entrance makes it possible to see right through the building from the street, creating a sense of visual continuity between the public space and the park. Designed as a third place where different activities and different audiences mingle, transparency is also used to enable and promote interaction. From the entrance and reception onwards, the transparency of the public areas laid out around two patios leading from the plaza towards the park - invite people to walk around and discover the center. Some of the spaces, such as the kids' storytelling area or workspaces, offer a quieter, more private environment while retaining a visual relationship with the rest of the center. On the park side, the entirely glazed facade opens onto the landscape of the large meadow, while the reading terrace provides users an extension of the interior spaces.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture! The public areas are sheltered by a metal structure and have mixed curtain faades of aluminum and spruce which are entirely glazed. The staff areas and more private spaces have concrete walls covered in 3-ply cladding and spruce battens, which are used in exactly the same way on the faade and on the interior walls. Wooden "shutters" made of the same materials are positioned in front of each door and window, making it possible to shut out the light in these areas. These shutters are designed in such a way that when they are closed, the door or window is perfectly concealed, giving the illusion of a smooth, windowless faade. A footpath through the park leads from the new building to the converted Chartreuse, for which we have endeavored to preserve the historic integrity and the original materials.Save this picture!Project gallerySee allShow lessProject locationAddress:Saint-Denis-de-Pile, Gironde, FranceLocation to be used only as a reference. • 4 clever uses for an old Mac
    www.popsci.com
Don't let your old Mac device collect dust. Image: iStock Unreleased/Getty ImagesShareYouve set up your new Mac and everything is great. The problem: Your old device is still sitting on your desk, waiting for you to decide what to do with it.Youve got options. You could factory reset your old Mac and sell itthey tend to hold at least some of their value. But it might be worth more to you in the house, assuming you can think of something to do with it. Recently we told you about uses for your old iPhone or iPad. Here, in the same spirit, are things you might be able to use your old Mac for.Smart TVs are great when they work but most of the time its easier to watch things in a browser. I constantly find myself fiddling with my smart TV to do something that would take five seconds on an actual computer with a browser. My solution: Connect an actual computer to your TV and use that. Your old Mac could be perfect for this, assuming its either a laptop or a Mac Mini. Youll likely just need an HDMI cable (you might need a Thunderbolt adapter if your Mac doesnt have an HDMI port). Get the Popular Science newsletter Breakthroughs, discoveries, and DIY tips sent every weekday. By signing up you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This setup is particularly nice if you get a wireless mouse and keyboardyou can control everything from the couch. And, as an added bonus, any Mac can be used as an Airplay receiver. This means you can share your iPhone or iPads screen and audio to your TV. This is very useful if your smart TV doesnt offer Airplay.Theres one Mac type that wont work well for this: the iMac. Plugging what is essentially a screen into another screen is going to be clumsy at best, but you could just use your entire old iMac as a streaming TV for a spare bedroom or any other space where you might want something on in the background.Retro GamingSuper Mario Bros. is always a good option. Screenshot: OpenEmu Weve talked about turning an old Wii into the ultimate retro gaming device, and that works pretty well. Do you know whats even easier? Setting up OpenEmu (the best emulation software out there) on a Mac. Theres also RetroArch, if you prefer. You can add ROMs from dozens of systems and then connect a controller to your Mac. After that you can just lean back and play. I think this works best if your Mac is hooked up to a TV, so it basically works as a game console.Home ServerScreenshot: Apple Whether you want to share a few files on your local network, which you can access your computer from an iPhone or iPad or set up a private email server, an old Mac can make for a pretty good server. This is particularly true of the Mac Mini, which you can easily set up in a cabinet or drawer. Just set up the Mac, open the System Settings and head to General > Sharing. From there you can turn on file sharing, media sharing, and more. You can even enable SSH access, if you know what that is (if you dont, dont worry about it). Basically you can turn your Mac into a viable home server pretty quickly.Time Machine BackupSpeaking of network shares: You can back up your new Mac to your old one using Time Machine. Its a great way to back up your new Mac without having to remember to plug in the backup drive regularly. Just create a shared folder specifically for the backup on your old Mac and point Time Machine to it. Ive tried a lot of alternative ways to run Time Machine back ups over the network, including a Raspberry Pi, but none worked as well as backing up to an actual Mac. If youre running on as a server anyway its worth considering.

  • Baldur's Gate 3's Swashbuckler is Primed to Be Part of Meme History
    gamerant.com
Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 8 stress test went live on January 28, and it is giving its participants an opportunity to spend some time with the update's 12 new subclasses. This opportunity has led to a flood of new information about the subclasses, and players now have a solid understanding of their actions, spells, and features. While many of these new abilities are notable due to their power or flavor, there is a class action that stands out for its meme potential, and it will almost certainly have its moment in the sun when Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 8 is made available to all players.
