  • Elden Ring: Nightreign Will Receive Additional DLC by Q4 2025
    gamingbolt.com
Elden Ring: Nightreign is an anomaly a co-op rogue-lite battle royale experience that FromSoftware insists isnt live service. However, that doesnt mean it wont release updates or additional content, as revealed in its Steam listing.Spotted by PC Gamer and since altered, the listing seemingly said, Additional DLC Additional playable characters and bosses. It has since changed to: *Additional DLC will be available by Q4 2025. While this could have been an official announcement down the line, FromSoftware may have let the cat out of the bag early. Its also worth noting that despite saying by Q4 2025, the DLC could launch before that period. Since Elden Ring: Nightreign is out on May 30th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC, adding new characters and bosses so late would only make sense if an expansion is planned.Time will tell, so stay tuned for updates. Elden Ring: Nightreign held its first closed network test over the weekend, which saw its fair number of issues but was otherwise received well.

  • Next-Gen Xbox Passes Early Pitch Stages, Fully Approved and Costed Rumor
    gamingbolt.com
To be an Xbox fan in 2025 is a strange proposition. As hardware sales continue dropping, the company has embraced a multiplatform strategy, bringing its first-party titles to other platforms like PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Forza Horizon 5, Age of Mythology: Retold, and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition are coming to the former, and based on rumors, more is on the way. However, Microsoft hasnt given up on new hardware. Windows Centrals Jez Corden reported hearing that next-gen Xbox console hardware has now moved past its early pitch stages and has been fully approved and costed all the way up the chain. Though hes unsure of a reveal anytime soon, it reinforces Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencers stance on the company definitely making more consoles.Though a mid-gen console refresh isnt something Spencer is interested in, earlier reports indicate that the next-gen Xbox will also have a secondary device. Unlike the Xbox Series S, it will allegedly be a handheld akin to the Steam Deck. Spencer would later note that prototypes were in the works; however, it would still be a few years before anything concrete (and thats if it ends up releasing at all).

  • LG AI Research Releases NEXUS: An Advanced System Integrating Agent AI System and Data Compliance Standards to Address Legal Concerns in AI Datasets
    www.marktechpost.com
After the advent of LLMs, AI Research has focused solely on the development of powerful models day by day. These cutting-edge new models improve users experience across various reasoning, content generation tasks, etc. However, trust in the results and the underlying reasoning used by these models have recently been in the spotlight. In developing these models, the quality of the data, its compliance, and associated legal risks have become key concerns, as the models output depends on the underlying dataset.LG AI Research, a pioneer in the AI field with previous successful launches of the EXAONE Models, has developed an Agent AI to address the above concerns. The Agent AI tracks the life cycle of training datasets to be used in AI models, comprehensively analyzing legal risks and assessing potential threats related to a dataset. LG AI Research has also introduced NEXUS, where users can directly explore results generated by this Agent AI system.LG AI Research focuses on the training data underlying AI models. This is concerning because AI has been rapidly expanding into various sectors, and the biggest concern is its legal, safe, and ethical advancement. Through this research, LG AI Research found that AI training datasets are redistributed many times, and a dataset is sometimes linked to hundreds of datasets, making it impossible for a human being to track its sources. This lack of transparency can give rise to some serious legal and compliance risks.Through its offering of an Agent AI embedded in NEXUS, LG AI Research is tracking complex datasets lifecycle to ensure data compliance. The team has achieved this through its robust Agent AI, which can automatically find and analyze complex layers and dataset relationships. They developed this Agent AI system using a comprehensive data compliance framework and their EXAONE 3.5 model. The Agent AI system comprises three core modules, and each has been fine-tuned differently:The Navigation Module: This module is extensively trained to navigate web documents and analyze AI-generated text data. It performs navigation based on the name and type of the entity to find links to web pages or license documents related to the entity. The QA Module: In this module, the model was trained to take collected documents as input and extract dependency and license information from the documents. The Scoring Module: Finally, it was trained using a refined dataset labeled by lawyers, which analyzes license details alongside an entitys metadata to evaluate and quantify potential legal risks.Through this robust development, Agent AI has achieved 45 times faster speed than a human expert at a cost cheaper than 700 times.Other notable results include: when evaluating 216 randomly chosen datasets from Hugging Faces top 1,000+ downloads, Agent AI accurately detected dependencies by around 81.04% and identified license documents by about 95.83%.In this Agent AI, the legal risk assessment for datasets is based on the data compliance framework developed by LG AI Research. This data compliance framework uses 18 key factors: license grants, data modification rights, derivative works permissions, potential copyright infringement in outputs, and privacy considerations. Each factor is weighted according to real-world disputes and case law, ensuring practical, reliable risk assessments. After this, data compliance results are classified into a seven-level risk rating system, where A-1 is the highest, requiring explicit commercial use permission or public domain status, plus consistent rights for all sub-datasets. A-2 to B-2 allows limited use, often free for research but restricted commercially. C-1 to C-2 carry higher risk due to unclear licenses, rights issues, or privacy concerns. The research on NEXUS has set a new standard for the legal stability of AI training datasets. LG AI Research envisions a long way forward; they have conducted an in-depth analysis of 3,612 major datasets through NEXUS and found that the inconsistency of rights relationships between datasets and dependencies is far higher than expected. Many of these datasets with inconsistencies are used for major AI models in widespread use. For example, of the 2,852 AI training datasets determined to be commercially available, only 605 (21.21%) remained commercially available after accounting for dependency risks.Recognizing these real-world issues, LG AI Research has several future goals for evolving AI technology and the legal environment. The first immediate goal is to expand the scope and depth of the datasets that Agent AI technology analyzes, aiming to understand the life cycle of all the data worldwide and maintain the quality of assessment and results throughout this expansion. Another vision is to evolve the data compliance framework into a global standard. LG AI Research plans to collaborate with the worldwide AI community and legal experts to develop these criteria into an international standard. Finally, in the long term, LG AI Research plans to evolve NEXUS into a comprehensive legal risk management system for AI developers, contributing to creating a safe, legal, data-compliant, and responsible AI ecosystem.Sources:Thanks tothe LG AI Research teamfor the thought leadership/ Resources for this article.LG AI Research team has supported us in this content/article. • 'Holy $&#%, He's Done It Again!' The White Lotus Season 3 Cast Breaks Down the Opening Shoot-out and the Return of THAT Character
    www.ign.com
Spoilers follow for The White Lotus Season 3, Episode 1, Same Spirits, New Forms.Season 3 of The White Lotus starts with a bang. Well, several bangs. While the show is famous for dropping a dead body into the opening scene of each season, the initial moments of the newest iteration raise the stakes considerably. The cast of the HBO show sat down with IGN as part of IGN Fan Fest 2025 to break down the opening scene and react to the return of a much-despised character. The White Lotus Season 3 PremiereSomething Has Shifted in the World of The White Lotus.Instead of a corpse being loaded onto a plane (Season 1) or floating in the ocean (Season 2), the premiere of the Thailand-set new season sees a full-fledged shoot-out culminating with at least one lifeless body face-down in the water. It was a moment both true to previous seasons of the Mike White-helmed series and an escalation of what fans have come to expect. Michelle Monaghan (Jaclyn): Like, holy shit, he's done it again! I mean, honestly, this season, it is bigger. It is more action-packed. And you see that from page one. You are delving into the theme of Season 3, which is life and death, spirituality, and how light and dark coexist. And it really happens in that opening scene and it gets bigger and bolder and deeper as the season continues to roll out.Aimee Lou Wood (Chelsea): I was so blown away. I just thought it was such a genius idea to have Belinda's (Natasha Rothwells) son (Zion, played by Nicholas Duvernay) open it because Belinda, she's the heart of Season 1, and she's who everyone wants to win. I thought it was so clever because it instantly makes it more melancholic and human and emotional. It's a shoot-out, but it also feels more human than ever, like the most human whilst also being the most big. Carrie Coon (Laurie): It was clear that the storytelling had leveled up. It opened slightly differently in the first two seasons. You just see the bodies being put into an airplane or a casket. This was an action sequence with a scene and gunfire, and I was like, Whoa. Something has shifted in the world of The White Lotus.Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey in The White Lotus. Parker Posey (Victoria) Its so much fun to read writing that's really inhabited. So it was like, I got the coffee and the tea out (and) I just sat down and I just barreled through it. By the last episode, I was so adrenalized. It was like I was so taken with the story that I forgot who died. I didn't remember until I went to set.Sarah Catherine Hook (Piper): (White) went the action-packed route because (in) the first season it was just a conversation, and then the second season was a dead body floating in the water. But (with the shoot-out) immediately in my head I was like, Okay, this is already going to be an action-packed season.Patrick Schwarzenegger (Saxon): Mike continues to push the envelope of what he wants to do with each and every season. Obviously this season is completely different than the past, and that involves the opening sequence. I thought that it was amazing how he showcased the suspense of it all. And obviously with the gunshots, I mean, it's very relevant to something that would happen today. But I thought it was great and I think that there's more than a body potentially. Jason Isaacs (Tim): He's a master storyteller. It reminds me of Dickens. Dickens used to be serialized in the newspaper, so he knew that the first chapter and then maybe the first paragraph needs to throw a hook right into the audience's imagination. And that's what hes done. He does it brilliantly and then he reels you in really slowly. And then when the fish gets close, you're trapped.Watson Goggins (Rick): Reading the first few pages, you notice the difference. There's not a body, there's a shoot-out. I think I stopped after the first three pages and thought, I can't believe I'm reading the first episode of Season 3 of The White Lotus. It's like reading a Tarantino script. You realize that you're in rarefied air. Walton Goggins in The White Lotus.I Was Hoping the Dead Body Would Be Me.Each season of The White Lotus presents a central mystery: Who died? The cast of Season 3 was both excited and fearful that the body we see in the premiere might be their own. Leslie Bibb (Kate): If you're the dead body, you're going to have a great story. If you're not the dead body, you know that maybe there's a possibility, if Mike likes you and he feels moved, you could come back for a second season. We were reading some (fan questions and) Jason's like, Why is everybody assuming my character's being killed? And I said, It's a compliment. You're like Drew Barrymore in Scream.Jason Isaacs: I figured that whoever it was wasn't going to die until the end. So if it was me, that would be fine. I just wanted to go on Mike's ride. It was such a joy. Sam Nivola (Lochlan): I feel like I was sort of hoping the dead body would be me, and maybe it is! You don't know. But to be honest, I was like, "I don't really care." I'm going to read all these scripts in one sitting and I will find out in a few hours. I was just along for the ride.Aimee Lou Wood: I think everyone goes through the script. Youre like, Oh my God!Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, and Carrie Coon in The White Lotus.Michelle Monaghan: You don't know. And as soon as we got cast, we received all eight episodes in our inbox. And the whole time, I'm just thinking, This is insane. And you have no idea which direction it's going. Walton Goggins: Of course, that is a consideration, right? No one knows if it's going to be them. When you set out to read these scripts, it's like playing a game of Clue: what's the instrument and how does it happen and is it happening to me? Hes a Character You Love to Hate.A huge surprise from Episode 1 is the return of Greg (John Gries), who first appeared in Season 1 and arranged for the murder of his wife and fan-favorite character Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) in Season 2. The cast talked about his surprising return.Leslie Bibb: It's so exciting. In the script it just says a bald man walks down. That's when he sees Sarah Catherine. And I remember being like, I wonder why Mike's talking about that. And then it came back and I was like, "Oh my God, this guy's in all three (seasons)."Carrie Coon: (Hes) the luckiest actor. He wasn't necessarily going to be the throughline I remember, but it ties into Belinda. That was actually the part about the Greg storyline that was most exciting to me was to see what happens to Belinda.Natasha Rothwell in The White Lotus.Sarah Catherine Hook: I was like, Oh my God, (White is) so smart to keep (the story of) Tanya alive. I feel like she is in this season with us. And I think that fans of the show, including myself, had some worries about the face of The White Lotus being killed off. So I was so relieved and so happy and just so impressed that he was able to pull it off so beautifully. And I think that's going to be a very, very enticing story for the audience.Sam Nivola: I was like, Why is he here? What is going on? I was definitely scared. Is he going to kill Belinda? I think it's really smart the way that (White) ties these three seasons together. I think that the way he sort of came up with this thing is like a mathematician. It's just the perfect amount of connectivity without marrying it to the previous seasons.Patrick Schwarzenegger: Once I started to read as a fan of the show, I was like, Okay, that's a great ending of the pilot. Something to keep new people interested. Patrick Schwarzenegger in The White Louts. Jason Isaacs: Michael Powell, the great British filmmaker, used to talk about planting bombs. And Mike sets the story out at a perfect pace and you think not much seems to be happening. Wait a second. That is the guy that killed his wife. That's not going to end well. He just knows exactly how to pique your interest just a little bit and pick up the pace.Michelle Monaghan: Hes a character you love to hate. John is the exact opposite of Greg. It's crazy to me. He's the best person, the best person on the planet. (But) that storyline, there's some unfinished business there that Belinda needs to take care of. And I think that audiences are going to be so excited and so happy that she has a chance at redemption.Aimee Lou Wood: That full circle is so satisfying. For more from the cast of The White Lotus Season 3, be sure to catch IGN Fan Fest February 24-28 across IGN platforms.

  • The White Lotus Biggest Villain Makes a Surprise Return in Season 3
    www.denofgeek.com
This article contains spoilers for The White Lotus season 3 episode 1.The first episode of The White Lotus season 3 is all about immersing viewers into creator Mike Whites version of Thailand and the vast array of new characters staying at the ominous resort. From Walton Goggins MVP-type start to 2025 (this man is in everything right now!) to the return of The Leftovers shining star (our queen Carrie Coon), there is no shortage of megawatt talent on the table for the third go-around at HBOs most famous exotic hotel.Even with all of the novelty that comes with a new season of an anthology such as The White Lotus, fans of these types of shows always want connective strands that tie the DNA of the series present to its past. The announcement of Belindas (Natasha Rothwell) return was a major cause for celebration while the void left by Jennifer Coolidges absence made many wonder whether the show would be able to go on without her. It turns out that Tanyas presence and history at the White Lotus are very much alive after watching Same Spirits, New Forms. You all remember Greg (Jon Gries), right? Tanyas love interest throughout the first two seasons of the show was revealed to have a lot more up his sleeve than anybody would have originally imagined. Gregs plot to have Quentin (Tom Hollander) dispatch Tanya resulting in him inheriting Tanyas wealth didnt go as planned. Tanya sniffed out the conspiracy and murdered Quentin on his yacht before offing herself by accident during her escape from the boat. The season ends without any conclusions about what happens to Tanyas money or whether Greg inherits it.It looks like this story might just be getting started after Greg makes a surprise cameo in the premiere for season 3. While sitting in a bar to get away from her cranky boyfriend, Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) starts up a conversation with a stranger over some drinks. The other woman says she is also trying to get a break from her lousy significant other before the camera pans over to Greg sitting alone eating dinner. The whole scene is only a couple of minutes but gives us a smorgasbord of speculative chatter to analyze before next weeks episode.Greg is obviously still very wealthy and very much ready to mingle in the aftermath of last seasons Tanya murder fiasco. Perhaps he did inherit his late wifes money after her death, otherwise, its hard to imagine how he would have the pretty penny to travel to Thailand for another vacation. Why is he returning to the hotel chain affiliated with a crime scene that hes surely a suspect in, though?I also find it fascinating that Greg is now serving as the Tanya figure for his new girlfriend. Whereas Greg was only with Tanya for her wealth throughout the first two seasons, he is now the one with the major money in his relationship. Hes several decades older than his new partner which indicates he might be using his fortune to pursue women who otherwise wouldnt give him the time of day.For plot purposes, its hard to imagine Gregs appearance will only be a fun nod to the past. The way his scowl and villainous glance at the camera as it pans out holds for several seconds indicates that there is something sinister brewing in the characters mind yet again. What is he up to? Is he trying to hide from the authorities by jumping ship to another foreign country after Tanyas death? The show does a great job of introducing new characters such as Gregs new girlfriend while incorporating the past into the present. Patience is key as we wait to find out just how much screen time Greg gets, but we think it would be pretty frivolous to tease fans with a cameo and then not provide any more answers.Everyone who goes to the White Lotus is hiding secrets. Deception and corruption are two of the shows best themes and creator Mike White isnt exactly ambiguous in his application of these storytelling methods. Gregs return acts as one of the biggest mysteries of the third season so far and should be the best way for the show to continue crafting an extended universe that forces viewers to watch all previous episodes if they want to understand thoroughly whats going on. It also helps to establish Greg as the shows ultimate villain in a world full of unsavory people. The White Lotus season 3 episode 1 is available to stream on Max now. New episodes premiere Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and Max.

  • Is Apple working on a larger iMac?
    9to5mac.com
With the Mac transition to Apple Silicon, Apple replaced its 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac models with one singular 24-inch iMac. Many had assumed that thered eventually be a larger iMac, perhaps a 30 or 32-inch model, maybe even an iMac Pro. However, were yet to see that come to fruition.Despite the fact that its been three years since the 27-inch iMac was discontinued, and Apple has since said its not making another 27-inch iMac, theres still some hope. Lets discuss.Apple confirmed no new 27-inch iMacBack in November 2023, shortly after the launch of the new M3 iMac, Apple made an interesting statement to The Verge. The company normally doesnt comment on future product strategy, but they did here, and it was pretty clear about the fact that the company doesnt plan on releasing a 27-inch iMac in the future.During keynotes, the company has even made reference to the fact that the 24-inch iMac is a great middle ground for both 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac models. However, theres one key component to these statements: the simple fact that theyre all in reference to a 27-inch iMac specifically. As wild as that may sound, Apple never dispelled the idea of a larger iMac as a whole. Just a 27-inch one.In this weeks edition of the Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman mentioned that Apple remains interested in the professional market, and that a larger-screen iMac might still arrive in the future:The company remainsinterested in the professional market, though, and itsplanning newMac Pro and Mac Studio models.Apple also will probablyeventually get around to offering a larger-screen iMac.Gurman also stated that Apple is exploring a larger iMac model back in August:A larger iMac remains something Apple is exploring as well, but its unclear if that will be an M4 product or something that comes the following year or later.Additionally, towards the end of 2023, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that he believes a higher-end 32-inch mini LED display iMac will launch in 2025. Given the fact that we havent heard many details since then, Apple has likely pushed it back further in the pipeline. Nonetheless, it isnt entirely off the table.Wrap upUltimately, we dont know for sure whether or not a larger iMac will launch. We can certainly say it isnt off the table, and based on Apples comments, we can also say that it isnt going to feature a 27-inch display. If one does launch, it probably wont be until at least next year. What do you think about the possibility of an iMac Pro return? • Open-source code repository says far-right forces are behind massive spam attacks
    www.theverge.com
The open-source code repository Codeberg has blamed the far right for a recent campaign of abuse and harassment across its systems. Projects advocating tolerance and equal rights were subjected to spam campaigns using abusive messages, which escalated to spam emails sent to users via Codebergs own automated systems. Codeberg says it stands strong against hate and hatred that endangers free software projects. On February 12th, some Codeberg users received emails from Codeberg containing abusive content. The site says that this was sent by an abuser who took advantage of the sites ability to notify up to 100 users at once, generating a notification email each time. Codeberg says that while it has blocked both the accounts and the functionality they used, a large amount of notification emails had already been sent, and the site itself experienced brief downtime.Your private data was not leaked, Codeberg reassures users in a statement. All emails have been generated through Codebergs servers using the notification feature and the abusers had no access to your email address directly.Codeberg is a Berlin-based nonprofit organization that provides hosting and other services for free and open-source software projects. It boasts more than 150,000 users whove worked on over 200,000 projects and claims a community that celebrates free culture, openness and creativity. The organization, mostly run by volunteers, says that while it runs with some extra capacity to handle abuse campaigns, that capacity was obviously exhausted this time.Spamming notification emails to users is a new abuse vector to us, and we did not sufficiently prepare for this, the statement says. For that, we are sorry. The team is working on plans to improve its protection against this and similar kinds of abuse in the future, while responding to users affected by the recent campaign. One thing the attack hasnt done is deter Codebergs commitment to open-source software, which it says is endangered by far-right forces. By targeting some of our most active translators, nicest designers, best developers and all other motivated contributors, they are hurting the free/libre software ecosystem as a whole. We will not be discouraged in our fight against far-right ideologies, the statement continues. They are currently on the rise in many parts of the world, and we believe it is important to protect all kinds of marginalized groups. However, if you believe this does not affect your project, you are wrong. Far-right forces pose a threat to all of us.See More:
