    Charlie Chapman shared a look at an awesome project made with the help of Houdini. The simulation took approximately 4,5 minutes for a frame at 2K (700 samples, RTX 4090). The work was crafted entirely in SideFX Houdini, rendered in Karma XPU, comp in Nuke.

  • Farmhouse explosion simulation in 3D

    Check out this impressive simulation crafted with Substance 3D Assets, staged in Solaris, and rendered with Karma XPU by VFX Artist Travis Rainford.

    Every simulation was run for around 144 frames. The RBD simulation took approximately 10 minutes with 10 substeps, the main explosion simulation took about 8 hours with 5 substeps and a voxel size of 0.025, and the inner fire simulation took about 2 hours, using 5 substeps and a voxel size of 0.025.
