PlayStation has seemingly leaked the date of the next HD2 major update, and it’s right around the corner. The invasion of Super Earth has also been deemed inevitable by Arrowhead, and a leaker has shared gameplay of “Super Earth Mega Cities” under attack with “SEAF troops on the battlefield” and more. While the next big update seems to be arriving in less than a week, before then Arrowhead are aiming to fix the Helldivers 2 “stratagem spawning glitch” that is irking many players. Helldivers 2 dev confirms hotfix incoming for “stratagem spawning glitch” Since the release of Helldivers 2 update 01.003.000 on May 13th, there have been complaints about a “stratagem spawning glitch”. Fortunately, on Discord, Arrowhead community manager, Baskinator, has just confirmed the studio is aware of the glitch and that they are “preparing a hotfix tentatively scheduled for tomorrow”. However, because it’s “tentatively scheduled for tomorrow,” there is the possibility it may not come out as planned. On Reddit, there have been complaints about the glitch since the release of update 01.003.000. Basically, the glitch is a duplication bug, and one Reddit post shows gameplay of someone calling in “100 380mm barrages,” resulting in just pure carnage. Aside from the duplication bug simply existing, the big problem is that it is causing the game to frequently crash for many players. According to one comment, “orbital gas strikes, any support items and any turrets seem fine and don’t cause crashes,” but “barrage, gatling, most eagles, and especially any vehicles,” have a “high chance of game crashing”. Another Reddit post begs people to please stop abusing the glitch because “every match someone is doing it and it constantly causes me to crash”. In this Reddit thread, one user bemoaned, “Just crashed at extraction on a tier 9 mission because one moron did this. The run was so fun otherwise, I can’t ever enjoy one thing man…”. Fortunately, for frustrated players, a hotfix is incoming and planned for May 16th. Hopefully it comes out as “tentatively scheduled” so Super Earth soldiers can go back to enjoying the game. EA pushes for return to the office as remote working is scaled back The company is moving to a three-day hybrid model News by Samuel Roberts Editorial Director Published on May 15, 2025 Electronic Arts has sent employees a notice that it's scaling back remote working, implementing a new hybrid policy of three days a week in the office. According to IGN, an email sent around the company by EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that employees will spend a "minimum of three days a week in [their] local office", with "offsite local roles" steadily being phased out. Wilson's justification is that in-office work generates "a kinetic energy that fuels creativity, innovation, and connection, often resulting in unexpected breakthroughs that lead to incredible experiences for our players." A follow-up by EA Entertainment president Laura Miele explained that the changes will not take place immediately, with 'work model transitions' having a minimum 12-week notice period. The timing on this will apparently vary by location. A notion of a 30 mile/48kilometre 'radius' was also outlined in the email. Employees living within that distance of a local office will move to the new hybrid model. Employees outside that radius will be considered remote, "unless their role is designated as On Site or Hybrid". "Any work model exception and future Remote hires will require a CEO Direct’s /my approval [sic]." GamesIndustry.biz has reached out to EA to confirm the email is genuine, but understands employees in the UK have received the same notice. After gaining momentum during the pandemic as a recruitment incentive, remote work has gradually been scaled back across the industry. Companies like Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft Montreal, and Rockstar Games have changed to either hybrid or in-office models in recent years. EA recently cut around 300 jobs across different teams.

Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link, a mobile action RPG announced in 2022, has been cancelled. Originally planned to be released last year, it faced several delays. Square Enix said recently on Twitter that it “worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players.” However, it eventually realized, “It would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period, leading us to the decision to cancel development.” The development team is “hard at work” on the next installment in the series, Kingdom Hearts 4. Announced in April 2022 along with Missing-Link, the sequel is developed on Unreal Engine 5. Further information like platforms, a release window, and so on remain unconfirmed. Though the cancellation of Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link may be surprising, Square Enix has a reputation for launching mobile titles and shutting down support soon after. These include Echoes of Mana, Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, and Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier. As for the future of its business, Square Enix recently announced a three-year reboot plan focusing on a new R&D division for AI-focused development tools. In the Minecraft universe, saddles were essentially an ancient technology whose recipe was lost to time. Nobody knew how to craft them. However, that’s all about to change with craftable saddles added into Minecraft’s upcoming Summer Drop 2025. They can be experienced now in Minecraft’s test realms (Java snapshot and Bedrock’s beta and preview). Just a simple three leather and one iron ingot recipe is ushering in a new, more easily accessible era of mounts. The history of saddles in Minecraft goes back to 2010, when they were introduced as a means to ride pigs. Over time, the uses of saddles increased beyond just pigs with rideable horses, donkeys, mules, striders, and camels. But while the demand for saddles increased, their supply did not. Players looking to foster a bond with a noble steed relied on gifts from the RNG gods. To find a saddle, players would have to find one in a dungeon chest or a villager chest, fish one out of the water, loot one off rare spawning mobs, or trade a villager for one. In some runs, this could take less than a couple of minutes, if you’re lucky to find one in the closest village. In others, it could be a frustrating, repetitive process. A common complaint with saddles, and mounts by extension, is that they are most useful in the early and midgame when they are hardest to find. Traveling on a mount doesn’t eat up hunger, and they’re great for traversing the overworld without having to jump for every one-block vertical change. Beyond that, having a noble steed chilling in diamond armor at your home bases’ stables is just cool. Turning saddles into a simple recipe, while also allowing shears to take saddles off mounts without inventories (like pigs), means that more rides than ever will be taken — giddyup!

Electronic ArtsRemote work became a popular necessity during COVID, but not every company is ready to continue this trend in 2025. The changes will take time to be implemented, so workers have several months to prepare.The company has introduced a new distance policy: employees who live within 30 miles/48 km from the office will transition to a hybrid work model, others will be considered remote unless their role is designated as on-site or hybrid.As some sources told IGN, existing remote workers would have "exemptions" to RTO "sunset" in the next 3 to 24 months.As you might expect, EA employees weren't happy with the news, especially those who would have to spend hours on commutes. People who live outside the 30-mile radius are worried about what would happen if they didn't move closer to the office.To me, RTO seems more like a power play than an actual method to boost productivity. Dungeons & Dragons has been working to integrate some of the biggest third-party publishers of 5E content into its D&D Beyond digital ecosystem, making it easier for Dungeon Masters to keep track of all their books, and allowing players to incorporate unofficial classes, feats, and spells into their virtual character sheets. D&D Beyond incorporated Ruins of Symbaroum earlier this month and Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting in March, and the latest addition to the toolset is The Crooked Moon, a folk-horror setting and adventure based on Legends of Avantris’ actual-play series Edge of Midnight. The Crooked Moon earned more than $4 million on Kickstarter in 2023, making it the most successful D&D 5e crowdfunding campaign on the platform to date. Backers received their PDFs in March, and preorders are open now for the D&D Beyond version, which will release on June 16. The Player Options & Campaign Setting book and Monsters & Adventure Campaign cost $39.99 each, or can be bought together for $69.99. The ambitious project includes a 350-page adventure taking characters from levels 1 to 13 in the spooky world of Wickermoor Hollow, where they’ll travel on the Ghostlight Express to face the Crooked Man. The campaign features 85 folklore-inspired monsters and rules for multiphase boss fights with their own minions and terrain.  Players can also embrace the horror with plenty of new subclasses and species. So a ranger can become a Grim Harbringer, a warlock can choose the Horned King as a patron, and you can play a pumpkin-headed Harvestborn or a rat-like Plagueborn.
