    v.redd.it
Hey! After a few weeks of work, I finally have a usable version of this addon. Essentially, you add materials from your scene (they can be from Poly Haven, Megascans, etc.), and UberPaint lets you efficiently paint them on. It supports displacement and also has advanced features like displacement blending. Like I said, it's free, and you can get it here! https://theworkshopwarrior.gumroad.com/l/uberpaint submitted by /u/TheWorkshopWarrior [link] [comments]

Beginners Guide to Machine Learning: What It Is and How to Get Started2 min readJust now--What is Machine Learning?IntroductionHave you ever wondered how Netflix recommends shows or how Google Translate works? Thats the magic of machine learning. If youre curious about this trending field and want to learn the basics, youre in the right place. In this guide, Ill walk you through what machine learning is, how it works, and how you can start learning it even if youre a complete beginner. What Is Machine Learning?Machine learning (ML) is a branch of artificial intelligence (AI) that allows computers to learn from data without being explicitly programmed. Instead of hard-coding rules, we feed machines examples and let them learn patterns and make decisions.Example: You dont program a spam filter to recognize spam. You feed it hundreds of emails labeled spam or not spam, and it learns the difference.Types of Machine LearningThere are three main types of ML:Supervised LearningLearns from labeled data (e.g., images tagged cat or dog)Used in email spam detection, fraud detection, etc.2. Unsupervised LearningLearns from data without labelsUsed in customer segmentation, pattern discovery3. Reinforcement LearningLearns by trial and errorUsed in robotics, self-driving cars, and games like Chess or GoHow Machine Learning WorksHeres a simple breakdown:Collect Data e.g., thousands of images, texts, or numbersTrain a Model feed the data into an algorithmTest the Model see how well it performsMake Predictions use the model to predict outcomes from new dataTools & Languages for BeginnersYou dont need to be a programming expert to start! Here are beginner-friendly tools:Python most popular ML languageGoogle Colab run Python in your browserscikit-learn great library for beginnersTensorFlow / PyTorch for deep learning (more advanced)How to Start Learning Machine LearningHeres a simple path:Learn basic PythonTake an online course (free on Coursera, YouTube, or Kaggle)Try small ML projects like predicting house prices or detecting spamJoin the ML community on GitHub, LinkedIn, or DiscordKeep building and learning!Final Thoughts Machine learning can feel overwhelming at first, but starting small makes a big difference. With free tools, online courses, and the power of AI, anyone can learn it yes, even you!Start today. Your journey into the future of technology begins now. As a beginner myself in machine learning, I found it hard to understand where to start. This guide is what I wish I had when I first got curious about ML.

  • Failed/unsuccessful short-lived new IP you wish could have a second chance
    www.resetera.com
Max|PayneMemberOct 27, 20179,470PortugalTalking about new original IPs that had one or two entries released but ultimately didn't have the success their creators wanted and have been shelved or forgotten for a good while now.My example would be 2012's Rage from id software.Following nearly 20 years of genre defining first person shooters and Doom 3, Rage was a large departure from their true and tried formula of rather linear corridor shooters, this time trying an open world game with vehicle combat and rpg elements. It was definitely an ambitious endeavour that had a healthy amount of hype behind it running up to release, such hype that even convinced me to pre-order it on Steam.Come release time and after sorting out the myriad technical problems it had at launch, I ended up finding it a disappointing game that I was still able to wring some enjoyment out of but ultimately not worth the hype behind it.It definitely needed extra time in the oven, for one and even then it would still be a technically compromised game due to having it run at 60fps on the PS360 generation of consoles. The game wasn't terrible but it was a letdown from id software's usual high standard of development.Oh, and it barely had an ending. All that said, and without having played Rage 2 (not developed by id soft), I sometimes still think about the game and wonder how it would have fared had id soft waited an extra year or two and released it for the PS4/XB1 instead and most importantly, how would current day id software handle the IP without their current tech.Probably not worth the effort for them but boy, do I wonder... • So, Nintendo once again is not bothering with the achievement/trophy system. Why do you think is that?
    www.resetera.com
DustC H A O SMemberOct 25, 201739,934I don't really care about achievements/trophies from personal gaming perspective but I will admit they make sense from business point of view. People will buy games for them. People will play longer to get them. People will research them in relation to games.Yesterday's Direct confirmed once again that they are not bothering with that feature on a system wide level. So why do you think Nintendo is (clearly) averse to them? Do they think they cheapen the gaming experience? Do they simply not care? There has to be a reason, as I have seen this feature requested by Nintendo users quite a lot. Just pure games and the joy that derives from that, nothing elsensilviasMemberOct 25, 201729,314andymoogle said:I would think is is because they are mostly useless. Do you really need a pat on the shoulder every other step in a campaign?I know they are fairly popular, but that doesn't mean it's something good. I don't know how many times I've seen on this site that people say that they won't buy a game because it doesn't have a Platinum trophy. That's an addiction and you are clearly not enjoying gaming. And on achievement/trophy focused sites it's even more depressing reading the comments.Click to expand...Click to shrink..." i bought this crappy game on sale cause its short and has an easy platinum"Bill GaitasMemberOct 25, 20173,933The ship sailed when they didn't bother to add a system back in 2017 when the Switch launched, no point in adding now. There've been Nintendo games with in-game achievement systems for a long time. The point does seem to be that Nintendo thinks that achievement systems are fine for games that are suited for it and for developers who think that it enriches their games, but they apparently don't regard it as a thing that should be mandatory for all games on a system level.OhhEldenRingMemberAug 14, 20242,395nsilvias said:they dont wanna know the real numbers on how many people dont finish games.Click to expand...Click to shrink...They know this alreadyDontHateTheBaconUnshakable ResolveMemberOct 27, 201713,982They kinda put them into their games already. Thankfully, that paywalled barrier has been lifted, with the listing on the online retailer back to delivering a discount coupon that reduces the price, and it is as simple as making a few clicks. Previously, customers would get a 20 percent coupon, which allowed the e7400s price to be reduced below the $200 mark. Now, you get a 15 percent discount coupon, which, when applied, reduces the $239.99 price to just $203.99. For a 4TB SSD that supports the PCIe NVMe Gen 4 protocol, that updated figure exudes a ton of value, especially when you want to upgrade the storage on your gaming PC, gaming laptop or PS5. With read speeds that go up to 7,400MB/s and write speeds peaking at 6,600MB/s, the ORICO e7400 is pretty much at the edge of the PCIe NVMe Gen 4 standards bandwidth, so it is nice to see that you will get to experience the full performance. Also, since the e7400 features a standard size, it can be slotted into every machine that offers an M.2 slot. For that extra peace of mind, the SSD comes with a 5-year limited warranty, plus a 2,400TBW endurance, ensuring that the 4TB SSD will last you for years. Perhaps the most important difference is that you will not be forced into subscribing to Amazon Prime, which helps you negate a few steps, and in the end, you get exceptional value from this deal.Get the ORICO e7400 4TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 SSD from Amazon - $203.99 (apply a 15 percent discount coupon to reduce the price)Explore more 4TB SSDs hereSee what else Amazon has discounted todayDeal of the DaySubscribe to get an everyday digest of the latest technology news in your inboxFollow us onTopicsSectionsCompanySome posts on wccftech.com may contain affiliate links. • Call Of Duty Just Hit A 2025 Record On Steam Following Verdansk's Return To Warzone
    www.gamespot.com
The return of Call of Duty: Warzone's original map, Verdansk, appears to be doing its job of driving players back to the game, on Steam at least. On Steam, Warzone and Black Ops 6 are packaged together inside the overarching "Call of Duty" launcher--and player numbers are spiking.Call of Duty surged past 114,000 concurrent players on Steam today, April 3, following the re-introduction of Verdansk to Warzone for the first time since December 2021. This is the highest player count for Call of Duty in 2025 so far. It's still well below the all-time peak of 491,670 players from November 2022, however. At 114,000+ concurrent players, Call of Duty is the No. 8 most popular game on Steam at press time.Warzone itself is a free-to-play game, but it's not listed as such on Steam because it's part of the Call of Duty launcher that includes paid titles like Black Ops 6. It's not clear how many of the 110,000+ people playing Call of Duty on Steam are playing Warzone. Also unknown is how Warzone is performing on Xbox and PlayStation since the reintroduction of Verdansk.Continue Reading at GameSpot
