The Last Days of GPT-4: A Multimodal Revolution Is Coming for Your Chatbot
The Last Days of GPT-4: A Multimodal Revolution Is Coming for Your Chatbot4 min read·Just now--By now, you’ve probably heard the news: GPT-4 is retiring. Not with a bang, not with a press conference or farewell tour, but with a quiet, graceful exit stage left as GPT-4o — the newer, shinier, more multimodal kid on the block — takes center stage. And if you didn’t hear about it? Congratulations, you’re living a peaceful life, unaware of the existential shifts in AI beneath your feet.Let’s dig in.GPT-4: The Icon That WasIntroduced in March 2023, GPT-4 was more than just a model. It was a cultural moment in AI — an intelligence that could write sonnets, debug code, ace bar exams, and help you draft that email you’ve been avoiding for three days. GPT-4 brought a level of reasoning and creativity that set a new benchmark for what people expected from their digital sidekick. If Siri was the friendly receptionist of the AI world, GPT-4 was your caffeinated genius friend who also happened to be a novelist, programmer, and part-time philosopher. But like all great icons — think vinyl records, floppy disks, and MySpace — it eventually had to make room for the future.Enter: GPT-4o (The “o” Is for “Omni,” Not “Oops”)Starting April 30, 2025, GPT-4 will officially retire from the ChatGPT interface. In its place? GPT-4o. The “o” stands for “omni,” which in this case isn’t just branding fluff — it’s a signal of a truly multimodal model.GPT-4o natively understands text, images, and audio. That means it’s not just reading what you write — it’s looking at what you show it, hearing what you say, and maybe, someday, sensing the emotional undertones of your sighs when you open a spreadsheet at 9 a.m.It’s faster, chattier, and more intuitive. It’s like GPT-4 went away for a sabbatical and came back with a yoga certification, fluent in three more languages, and somehow taller. Why Sunsetting GPT-4 Makes Sense (Even If We’ll Miss It)OpenAI didn’t make this decision on a whim. The shift to GPT-4o reflects a broader strategy: to streamline the…

Bungie Showcases Marathon Gameplay, Release Date Announced For September 2025
Menu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming Bungie Showcases Marathon Gameplay, Release Date Announced For September 2025 David Carcasole • Apr 12, 2025 at 02:00pm EDT Bungie's first new game in over a decade finally got its full reveal today. Marathon, a new extraction shooter that is actually a reboot of the very first game Bungie released by the same name, had a big showcase featuring our first honest look at gameplay for the new shooter, and we also got the announcement for the release date. Marathon will arrive on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on September 23, 2025, but if you're especially keen to try it out for yourself, you can sign up for a closed alpha test later this month by joining the game's official Discord server. The livestream showcase for Marathon included a panel of the game's lead developers, including game director Joe Zeigler, art director Joseph Cross, gameplay director Andrew Witts, and senior design lead Lars Bakken. Each talked about their experiences with Marathon, talking the game up between the short gameplay trailers. Trailers that do show off some Marathon gameplay, but none of them are as effective in showing what the game actually looks like in motion than a 20 minute video that shows highlights from Bungie inviting content creators and press to play the game. In that video you're watching a select few creator's direct gameplay feed, and we get a much better sense of what Marathon looks like when you're on stick. We also got a bit more information on some of the core details of Marathon, like the four Runners that players can choose from: Void, Glitch, Blackbird, and Locus. Each runner comes with their own set of abilities that inform the playstyle you can go for with them, but you're not limited to what kinds of weapons and load-outs you can craft, so you're free to play how you like. The livestream showcase ended with a bit more information on Marathon's narrative, which will be told over seasonal updates as Marathon is a multiplayer-only game, with no dedicated single-player mode. That said, we also got confirmation that you can solo-queue in Marathon if you don't have two other people to play with to make a full squad of three or don't want to play with randoms. Overall, Marathon doesn't look like it's doing much to distinguish itself from the already overcrowded genre of modern-day first-person shooters. Bungie's signature brand of first-person shooting and the game's art style certainly have a chance at making yet another extraction shooter feel fresh, but we'll have to wait until we actually get to play it to see if it has a chance at surviving. And that's without even mentioning the other elephant in the room, which is the fact that we still don't know what the final price of the game will be. Where To Find All Floorplans In Blue Prince
So, you're looking for the Found Floorplans in Blue Prince? While most rooms in the game can be drafted by default--with a bit of luck and prayers to the RNG gods--there are other areas with blueprints that you must obtain first. Doing so adds them to your drafting pool, and they have a chance to appear when you draw rooms. In any case, please be forewarned that this article contains spoilers. All Found Floorplans in Blue Prince - Floorplan locations guideThere are eight Found Floorplans that we've discovered so far. These include the Planetarium, Conservatory, Closed Exhibit, Mechanarium, Lost and Found, Treasure Trove, Tunnel, and Throne Room. We've organized our guide to focus first on the blueprints that you can find in the manor, followed by those that are outside and underneath the estate. PlanetariumLocation: Observatory - Use the upper and lower dials of the telescope so you can bring it closer to the ledge above. This allows you to open a hidden compartment.Effect: If you call it a day inside the Planetarium, you gain +2 stars.Tip: The Planetarium has a clue telling you that a new constellation appears when you have 50 stars. This grants you another method of rerolling/redrawing rooms. Closed ExhibitLocation: Study - You need to open the Study safe box. Once you've unlocked it, you can grab this Blue Prince Floorplan.Effect: The doors in the Closed Exhibit are security-locked.Tip: You can complete the Closed Exhibit Puzzle to acquire the Red Paper Crown, which is another unique reroll/redraw mechanic. MechanariumLocation: Underground - At the giant Rotating Gear section, rotate the dial so you can reach the niche with the map and the blueprint.Effect: Has one door for each gear-type room in your house.Tip: You can solve the Mechanarium Puzzle to receive a Sanctum Key. Lost and FoundLocation: Underground (Basement) - In the same spot where you found the Mechanarium floorplan, you'll see a full map of the Underground. If you have a Magnifying Glass, you'll notice a barely visible scribble saying that there's a buried floorplan in the Basement. Make your way there and bring a Shovel with you. Dig at the spot near the curvature of the passage (as shown in the image above).Effect: The Lost and Found room always has two rare items. However, whenever you enter it, you also lose a random item in your inventory.Tip: You lose the item whenever you enter the Lost and Found, so make sure you avoid visiting it. Alternatively, you can draft it as an outer room if Blessing of the Monk is active and you end your day while inside it. This lets you grab two rare items at the start of your run when you still have nothing in your inventory. It's actually how we found the last Vault Key that we needed. Treasure TroveLocation: Underground (Red Door) - You can reach this place by activating the Red Doors via the Boiler Room. Rotate the giant gear again so you can cross the gap at the top section.Effect: +5 gold for each time you've drafted the Treasure Trove.Tip: Maybe you can try what we did with the Lost and Found room. Hmm... Conservatory Location: The Grounds (Campsite) - The clues come from the music sheets found all over the house. Bring a Shovel and dig at the center of the white trees to claim this Blue Prince Floorplan.Effect: Adjust the rarity of floorplans in your house.Tip: The Conservatory is one of the best rooms to draft in the game. It ensures that you can set how common or rare certain rooms appear in the drawing pool. TunnelLocation: The Grounds (Tunnel) - Head down the stone steps in front of the manor and you should see a dark tunnel. If you have something that can light torches, then you can pick up this item.Effect: You always draw another Tunnel when you're inside this room.Tip: This is actually a great way to beeline straight for the farther sections of the manor, though the doors still require keys. Throne RoomLocation: Blackbridge Grotto - You must complete the Laboratory Puzzle to gain access to Blackbridge Grotto. Then, you need to find all three Microchips so you can place them in the pedestal's indentations.Effect: "Reclaim the Crown!"Tip: You can draft this and grab a Sanctum Key as well. That does it for our guide on the locations of all Found Floorplans in Blue Prince. As you can see, some of these have unique items that are integral to post-campaign progression. You can learn more about these in our Sanctum Keys guide.A surreal adventure filled with wonders and mysteries await you in Blue Prince. If ever you feel stuck or lost at any point in time in your playthrough, don't forget to check our Blue Prince guides hub.

OpenAI prepares to send GPT-4 out to pasture
GPT-4, OpenAI's first big upgrade to ChatGPT months after unleashing it on the world, is on its way out. A changelog the company published on Thursday said the model will be retired from ChatGPT on April 30. GPT-4o, which has been available since last May, will fully replace it. Despite GPT-4's significance in modern AI's brief but world-changing history, its sunsetting isn't a great loss for customers. OpenAI says GPT-4o improves on it in writing, coding and STEM. Recent upgrades have boosted the newer model further, enhancing its instruction following, problem-solving and conversational flow. The company describes the multimodal GPT-4o as the "natural successor" to the soon-to-be-retired GPT-4. Despite its upcoming removal from ChatGPT, API users will still be able to access GPT-4 after April 30. The announcement comes as OpenAI reportedly prepares a slew of new models for launch. Reverse engineer Tibor Blaho posted images on Friday (via TechCrunch) that seemingly confirm that o3, o4-mini and GPT-4.1 (including nano and mini offshoots) models are in the pipeline. In February, the company introduced a research preview of GPT-4.5, a better, more natural conversationalist that will serve as a stepping stone to GPT-5. OpenAI's release notes included a nod to the role GPT-4 played in the company's development. "GPT‑4 marked a pivotal moment in ChatGPT's evolution," the notes read. "We're grateful for the breakthroughs it enabled and for the feedback that helped shape its successor. GPT‑4o builds on that foundation to deliver even greater capability, consistency and creativity."This article originally appeared on Engadget at https://www.engadget.com/ai/openai-prepares-to-send-gpt-4-out-to-pasture-163643868.html?src=rss
