LOCATION: Village–House–Field - Ipolytarnóc, a small village near the Slovak-Hungarian border, is set within the rolling hills of the Northern Hungarian Highlands. West of it, in Győr, the Architects' Atelier serves as a creative hub for architecture students. These two seemingly distinct places connect at the edge of Ipolytarnóc, in an open field known as the Field of Sparks—a site where architecture and artistic experimentation take shape.Save this picture!Save this picture!Save this picture!COMMUNITY: Inspiration–Architecture–Art - Field of Sparks is an ongoing artistic and architectural initiative that has hosted an annual Artweek since 2019. Each year, invited architects contribute new experimental architecture installations to the evolving landscape. The project is driven by a commitment to Ipolytarnóc, aiming to highlight its cultural and spatial qualities. The organising crew of Field of Sparks, with the art direction of Zsófi Fenyvesi works relentlessly to sensitize every participant to social imbalances, and ethnic differences to encourage a more profound understanding of each other, to create a new kind of reality for the local community, and to aspire to a more tolerant and broad-minded future. The 2024 workshop, titled: Cabinet of Curiosities, supported by the International Visegrád Fund, continues this mission, with students from Széchenyi István University in Győr joining the process.Save this picture!Save this picture!CREATION: Time-Space-Function - The site, located on a gently sloping terrain, presents a collection of built interventions, each responding to the openness of the landscape. Adding a new structure required careful consideration of the existing spatial conditions. The design process, spanning six months, focused on creating a functional, communal element, resulting in a large, multi-purpose, playful table that serves as a gathering point for the community.Save this picture!Save this picture!TABLE: Location-Community-Creation - Designed to accommodate large groups, the table adapts to the natural topography, generating an undulating form that responds to the terrain's elevation changes. Stability is ensured by a network of steel pipes anchored into the ground, giving structural integrity while minimizing site disturbance. The seating and tabletop feature offset wooden slats, introducing variation in texture and color. The result is a structure that is both functional and adaptable, serving as a focal point for social interaction while integrating seamlessly into its surroundings.Save this picture! Researchers bombarded lichens with a year's worth of Martian radiation in just 5 hours — and they survived, hinting that the extremophiles could potentially live on the Red Planet.

Questions for Siri: 18 Things we’ve asked (or wanted to).
Questions for Siri: 18 Things we’ve asked (or wanted to).3 min read·Just now--We’ve all found ourselves talking to our phones at ungodly hours. It feels as if they hold the answers to our deepest questions. “Hey Siri, am I making bad life choices?” The digital assistant that lives in our pockets has heard everything, from the deeply practical to the completely unhinged.Siri doesn’t judge. She just… responds. Here’s a roundup of some of the weirdest and most oddly philosophical things people ask Siri. She nails some and sidesteps some like a PR intern dodging scandal. Either way, it’s fun to ask.“Hey Siri, do you love me?”She’s evasive, like someone who doesn’t want to define the relationship. Siri says: “You have my utmost admiration.” …Siri, just say you’re not ready for commitment.2. “What’s the meaning of Life?Classic existential crisis bait. Sometimes she quotes The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Sometimes she just says, “I can’t answer that.”Big mood.3. Ever tried this? “Siri, roast me.” If you’re into tech-assisted humiliation, she will play along. Just don’t be surprised if she hits you with a gentle, “I’d never do that.” She leaves you reflecting on your self-esteem.4. “Can you rap?”Yes and honestly… she’s got bars. It’s giving awkward but endearing AI energy.5. “Tell me a joke.”You’ll get dad-joke-level content that somehow still makes you smile. “Why is grass so dangerous? Because it’s full of blades.6. “Are you spying on me?” She’ll tell you she values your privacy. Meanwhile, you’re suddenly seeing ads for shoes after thinking about shoes. Coincidence?7. “Can you beatbox?”This one’s real. Try it. Spoiler: it’s the nerdiest beatboxing session ever and somehow… adorable.8. “Hey Siri, what should I eat today?”Depends on the day. Sometimes she gives restaurant suggestions. Other times she’s like, “How about a salad?”Passive-aggressive, Siri.9. “Siri, am I cool?” If you have to ask… well… Siri will still hype you up. Loyalty = appreciated.10. “Can you call me ‘Your Majesty’?”She’ll do it with a straight face. Power move.11. “Tell me something I don’t know.”She will hit you with a fact about aliens, outer space or obscure history.12. “Hey Siri, do you believe in ghosts?”She gets weirdly neutral. “I don’t have an opinion on that.” Which somehow makes it creepier.13. “Can you lie?”The answer is vague. Comforting… or the beginning of an AI uprising?14. “Siri, are you real?”She’ll admit she’s a bunch of code. Honestly, with how often we talk to her, doesn’t that make her emotionally real?15. “Tell me a bedtime story.”Yes, she will. No, she won’t tuck you in.16. “What’s zero divided by zero?”This one is iconic. If you’ve never asked, go do it now. It’s math… but savage.17. “Can you be my therapist?” She’ll say something sweet and redirect you to mental health resources. Not a therapist but a well-meaning robot bestie.18. “Do you get tired of all these questions?”She says no but we know better. Even Siri’s like, “Y’all need hobbies.”Asking Siri random questions isn’t just a way to kill time. It’s a strangely human habit in our increasingly tech-filled world. Behind the jokes, the raps and the canned responses, there’s a tiny moment of magic when your phone talks back.Siri is always there to listen 24/7. She does this without any visible eye-rolls and is never too busy. So, next time you’re bored, anxious or just wildly curious, go ahead and ask Siri something unusual. You might not get a straight answer…but you’ll get a story.

Marathon Outlines Runners, UESC, and ONI in Alpha Intro Cinematic
News Marathon Outlines Runners, UESC, and ONI in Alpha Intro Cinematic References to the original Marathon trilogy and Bungie's cult-classic cyberpunk action title abound in the new cinematic. Posted By Ravi Sinha | On 20th, Apr. 2025 Bungie has officially released the intro cinematic for its Marathon closed alpha, which commences on April 23rd. It provides a brief primer on the Runners, their mission on Tau Ceti IV and much more. Check it out below. The Runners’ goals revolve around salvaging (and extracting) resources from the planet. Interestingly, the United Earth Space Council, which played a major part in the original trilogy, is also present. Players will encounter Runners from the faction, and dealing with them is up to their “discretion.” However, the biggest surprise is the reveal of ONI, the mandatory support AI that accompanies players and helps transfer and reboot their consciousness into a new shell. The name, of course, references Bungie’s 2001 third-person action title, and given its cyberpunk nature, you have to wonder if the universe ties into Marathon or if it’s just a neat Easter egg. The Marathon alpha is available until May 4th, and the full game will launch on September 23rd for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. I feel like every game could use the Dark Souls "Tips for Beginners" image
sn00zer Member Feb 28, 2018 7,160 This is maybe one of my favorite bits of helpful advice out there. This is genuinely all I read to get started with Dark Souls 1 and have now gone through the entire Souls series. Very light spoilers to point you in the right direction both in terms of literally where to go and how to interpret the massive stat sheets. No surprises revealed, just enough to get you moving. Many games out there, especially those with sense mechanics (Monster Hunter), could use one of these to get over that initial hump.   Semfry Member Oct 25, 2017 2,246 This site is basically this: https://beforeiplay.com/index.php?title=Main_Page Although it obviously has some gaps.  signal Member Oct 28, 2017 42,940 20 points??? avoid the graveyard and new londo ruins??? cookie cutter playthrough influencer smh  LayZboy Member Dec 17, 2024 389 Avoid the graveyard so you don't get the zwei for R2 pancaking? Thoughts on if a game's official social media were to make something like this? I might pinch the idea for F1 25, though I get the feeling it might be better if community came up with one organically.  Astral Member Oct 27, 2017 33,142 Please don't avoid the graveyard. The Zweihander is worth dying for. It's like right there. I like tip 20 though.   Koklusz Member Oct 27, 2017 3,843 IIRC Claymore is in graveyard.   Ashes of Dreams Fallen Guardian of Unshakable Resolve Member May 22, 2020 19,250 I mean, sure. Some people like tips, some people follow guides, etc. But with Dark Souls (and many other games), experimentation and failure are an intended part of the experience. There's a reason the graveyard is right next to the hub. Telling people the optimal beginner's path is robbing them of the experience of discovering the game for themselves. I hope nobody throws this image at anyone who is starting the game and didn't ask for it. Or even just asked for some basic tips. Honestly I think the best piece of advice for most games, including Dark Souls, is "forget everything you've read about it, stop overthinking things, just play the game. If you make mistakes, that's okay." Most games don't need to be played optimally and the majority of these points are just explaining that. This is also what I say to people getting caught up in the weeds trying to start Final Fantasy VIII. Just ignore all the noise you heard about it's systems and play the game. I promise you that's what the developer intended. And yes, some people only enjoy games when done optimally and that's... weird to me but you do you. I'm talking about the people who hear about this stuff and start panicking, enjoying the game less, worrying about it at all, or even choose not to play it.  JohnTruckasaurus Member Oct 27, 2017 304 Koklusz said: IIRC Claymore is in graveyard. Astral said: Please don't avoid the graveyard. The Zweihander is worth dying for. It's like right there. I like tip 20 though. Click to expand... Click to shrink... The problem with the graveyard, for beginners, is that they had all heard Dark Souls was "really hard". So they go to the graveyard first and face enemies that take 20 hits to chip away to death. They die in one or two hits. They bang their head against the skellies over and over thinking "wow, this game really hard." but also "this is really tedious. Is every enemy going to be a brick wall of health? It's kind of boring." and just think "that's the way this game is." Saying "you can get the zweihander there" is pretty meaningless unless you know why it's good, how to stat into it, and that you're probably not going to want to go this way anyway (early rite of kindling regardless).
