Iran’s Folded Rocks Reveal Ancient Tectonic Power at Asia-Europe Boundary
The deformed rocks of Iran are formed due to strong mountain ridges and valleys in the Greater Caucasus mountain range, southwest of the Caspian Sea. Between 10 million and 50 million years ago, its growth was marked by sedimentary layers crushed during the first impact between the Arabian and Eurasian tectonic plates. The vividly coloured rocks produced by the sedimentary layers gathered over millennia range in tone from terracotta to greenish to bluish. Using satellite pictures, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Earth Observatory have shown how the landscape tended to cluster over time. One image depicts the different strata layers, vegetation, and the Zanjan-Tabriz freeway linking Tehran and Poznan. Interestingly, another image is of the Qezel Ozan River, which provides agricultural water in the region. The region is still converging, and fresh research suggests that a slab of oceanic crust is being shredded beneath Iraq and Iran.Iran's Folded Rocks Expose Arabia-Eurasia Tectonic CollisionAccording to reported NASA experts, a tectonic clash between the continents — known as Eurasia and Arabia — crunched these vividly hued strata of rock into massive folds. Located southwest of the Caspian Sea, Iran's folded rocks are mountain ridges and valleys from the Greater Caucasus mountain chain. The disrupted rocks are made of sedimentary layers that were tilted and folded after the first collision between the Arabian and Eurasian tectonic plates, which is estimated to have occurred 10 to 50 million years ago.Under Iraq and Iran, some of the oceanic crust between the Arabian and Eurasian plates is breaking apart, according to current research, which results in an anomalous silt accumulation at the surface. The complexity of the Earth's surface and the Qezel Ozan River, combined with the Neotethys oceanic plate pulling the area down, account for this. How to Turn AI Skeptics into Innovators and Lead the Future
How to Turn AI Skeptics into Innovators and Lead the FuturePublished inKaperider·4 min read·Just now--Did you know? Companies that successfully navigate an AI Culture Shift see 30% higher innovation rates — proving that winning over skeptics isn’t just possible, it’s profitable. There’s a quiet battle happening in the modern workplace — not of machines versus humans, but of fear versus possibility. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has arrived like an unpredictable tide, carrying with it waves of innovation, but also an undertow of uncertainty. And so, many stand frozen at the water’s edge, hesitant, skeptical, resisting the pull toward an AI-driven future. If we are to move forward, we must understand the skeptics, meet them where they are, and show them a vision not of loss, but of transformation. Why People Resist AIThe reluctance to embrace AI isn’t as simple as it seems. It’s not just about unfamiliarity with new tools or a lack of training — it’s about something far more personal.Fear of Obsolescence: The creeping worry that AI won’t just change jobs, but replace them. If a machine can do it better, where does that leave us?Distrust in the Unknown: AI’s decisions can feel like black boxes — unseen, unexplainable. How can we trust something we don’t fully understand? The Emotional Toll of Change: Humans are creatures of habit. The old ways feel safe and comfortable. AI threatens that stability.Memories of Past Failures: Technology has let us down before. Bias in algorithms, automation gone wrong — what if AI is just another failed promise?Take note: Before AI can be embraced, these fears must be acknowledged, not dismissed. Skepticism isn’t the enemy — it’s a signal. It tells us where the conversation must begin. How to Reframe AI as an Opportunity, Not a ThreatIf AI is introduced as an inevitable replacement for human work, resistance is the only natural response. But what if we changed the story? What if, instead of positioning AI as a disruptor, we revealed it as an enabler?AI as an Amplifier, Not a Replacement: What if AI didn’t take over jobs, but took over the tedious parts — freeing us for the work that truly matters?A Tool for Sharper Decision-Making: Data is everywhere, overwhelming and infinite. AI distills it, sharpening our vision, and helping us make choices with clarity and precision.A Creative Partner, Not a Rival: The best ideas often emerge from collaboration. What happens when AI becomes part of that creative process, enhancing human ingenuity rather than replacing it?Imagine AI as an exoskeleton, strengthening rather than supplanting. The narrative we choose shapes the future we create. The Stakeholder Buy-in Blueprint — Turning Resistance into AdvocacyWinning hearts and minds doesn’t happen through force — it happens through trust, through conversation, through proof.Step 1: Begin With EmpathyBefore launching into AI’s benefits, pause. Listen. Understand. What are people truly afraid of? What personal stakes do they have in the conversation? Acknowledge their concerns before you attempt to counter them.Step 2: Share Stories, Not Just DataFacts convince, but stories convert. Highlight businesses where AI didn’t replace people, but empowered them. Talk to a marketer whose AI tool uncovered customer insights she never would have found alone. Or the doctor whose AI-assisted diagnostics saved more lives than ever before. Make it real.Step 3: Introduce AI as a Partner in Small, Safe StepsNo one trusts something new overnight. Start with small integrations — AI tools that assist rather than overhaul. Give employees time to explore, experiment, and see AI’s potential before demanding full adoption.Step 4: Educate and EquipFear often comes from the unknown. Provide hands-on workshops, training sessions, and mentorship. Help employees not just understand AI, but experience its benefits firsthand.Step 5: Celebrate AI WinsThe moment AI proves its worth — even in small ways — make it known. Did automation save hours of tedious work? Did AI-powered analytics improve a campaign’s performance? Celebrate those victories. Make them visible. Let people feel the success.Success Stories That Change MindsSkeptics don’t change their minds because someone tells them to. They change when they see proof. Here are a few examples of AI changing industries — not through replacement, but through enhancement.AI in Medicine: IBM Watson assists doctors in diagnosing rare diseases faster than human expertise alone. It’s not replacing doctors — it’s making them sharper, faster, better.Retail’s AI Revolution: AI-driven recommendation engines at companies like Amazon and Netflix personalize experiences, making customers feel understood rather than overwhelmed.Manufacturing’s Smart Factories: Companies like Siemens and Tesla use AI-powered automation to increase efficiency while still relying on human oversight for quality control. How to Maintain AI Enthusiasm Over TimeThe real challenge isn’t introducing AI — it’s keeping the momentum going after the novelty fades. Here’s how to ensure AI remains a long-term advantage rather than a short-term trend.Making AI a Continuous ConversationTechnology evolves. So should the way we use it. Hold regular AI discussions, brainstorms, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Keep AI curiosity alive.Encourage ExperimentationLet employees play, test, and innovate with AI. The best breakthroughs often happen through curiosity.Measure, Improve, AdaptMonitor AI’s impact. What’s working? What isn’t? Refine strategies based on real data. AI isn’t static — neither should its integration be.The Future Won’t Wait — Will You?A year from now, will you be leading the AI Culture Shift or watching from the sidelines? AI isn’t coming — it’s here. Those leaders who embrace it will shape the future, while hesitation will leave others behind. This isn’t about machines taking over, it’s about turning resistance into momentum and skeptics into innovators. Atomfall Developer Wants to Make More Games if it Can Find the Resources
Rebellion hasn’t been keeping the success of its newest title, Atomfall, a secret. The studio has expressed interest in making more games in that franchise. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, however, studio CEO Jason Kingsley has said that more Atomfall games happening will depend on whether or not the studio can find resources for projects like it. Referring to studio CTO Chris Kingsley, Jason spoke about wanting to do more games in general, including Sniper Elite, Zombie Army, and Strange Brigade, as well as Atomfall, since both of them want to repeat the studio’s successes. “I don’t think we got it just right,” said Jason in response to a question about managing the scale of new projects like Atomfall right. “I think that one of the things Chris and I want to do is repeat success. So we want to do more Sniper Elite, we want to do more Zombie Army, we want to do more Strange Brigade.” “Now it looks like we want to do more Atomfall.” Jason did mention, however, that Atomfall had managed to surpass the studio’s estimates for how well it would do. “We’ve done a lot better than our mid-range estimates, actually,” he said. “It’s nice when marketing comes back to you and says ‘yep, we underestimated our high-level success.” He also praised the idea of releasing Atomfall on Xbox and PC Game Pass along with the title’s regular release. According to Kingsley, the fact that Atomfall was a smaller project than the studio’s usual releases benefited from being on Game Pass. “They brought their skills and their scale to bear on our small project, and it’s done really, really well for them, so they got a good deal, we got a good deal out of it as well,” he said. Ultimately, the studio head believes that being able to manage the scope of its projects is what will help it in the long run. “We don’t deliberately fit into this mid range, but that’s what we can do, and what we can do successfully,” he explained. “We literally can’t afford to spend 200 million on making a game. We just don’t have 200 million.” Kingsley had praised the title’s success on Game Pass quite a bit in the same interview. Among other things, he spoke about the value Game Pass brought to Atomfall since it encourages subscribers to try out random new games, which in turn helps with word-of-mouth marketing. “With Game Pass, you can get people to try it, then as a result of those people trying it, they like it, and they then tell their mates on social media, ‘I found this game on Game Pass, I really enjoyed it, you should have a go,'” he said. “And then some of them are on Game Pass, and will [play] it. But some of them aren’t on Game Pass, and will also want to be part of that conversation. So, they’ll go and buy it.” Atomfall is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Roblox Launches Regional Pricing for Creators Selling In-Game Items
Roblox is launching a new regional pricing system for creators that sell in-game items on the gaming platform. The pricing model change is being made in order to stimulate global growth for the gaming platform’s economy by drawing in more international users with pricing based on their local market conditions. When creators who make and sell their own in-game items opt-in to the new regional pricing feature, Roblox will automatically set the “optimal local prices” for those items, according to Roblox. The prices in Robux, Roblox’s in-game currency, will now be “more reflective” of local economies, rather than asking all users to pay the same price regardless of their location. Related Stories The cost of creators’ in-game items will be “updated periodically as Roblox’s virtual economy—and the global economy in the physical world—shifts.” Roblox says it plans to enable this regional pricing feature on avatar items later in the year. Popular on Variety In a Roblox blog post published Monday, Roblox vice president of economy Enrico D’Angelo wrote, “Regional Pricing offers users prices that are more reflective of their local economy, rather than paying the same price regardless of where they are. For example, without Regional Pricing, users in Vietnam or Brazil would pay the same price as users in the United States to access an experience’s economy. With Regional Pricing enabled, prices are automatically optimized for each user’s local economy and updated periodically as Roblox’s virtual economy—and the global economy in the physical world—shifts. Creators set the base price of their in-game items and retain complete control over which are priced regionally. From there, Roblox automatically applies the optimal region-specific prices for those in-game items as economic factors fluctuate.” This change comes on the heels of last year’s implementation of Roblox’s “price optimization” tool, which “helps eligible creators determine the best prices for their in-game items.” According to Roblox, since price Since its rollout, Roblox says the price optimization offering has led to a median earnings increase of 4% for eligible creators who have run a pricing test and “in many cases, these tests recommended that creators reduce prices on some of their in-experience items to make their offerings more attractive to a wider audience, driving higher earnings overall.”

Xenoblade Chronicles X Spoiler Thread (OPEN SPOILERS)
Dice Member Oct 25, 2017 27,980 Canada Final warning, but the first post will be tagged . . . . . . . . . This is now the Spoiler Thread for XENOBLADE X. If you don't want to get spoiled put this thread on ignore.... Or leave! Why are you spoiling it for yourself?! D:< . . . . . . . . 🤐 To those who don't want to linger here or get spoiled too much: It's been implied through press footage already, but one major question appears to be answered: Yes, the new story content connects the mainline games to X. . . . . . . . . 🙈 🙉 🙊 Thanks for sharing RockmanBN. . Others have mentioned this looks pretty incomplete and it's hard to parse without sound and context. But it's definitely "beefier" than what we had going in the base game back on the WiiU (for those who don't know, the original game ended with the scene on the beach below).   Last edited: Mar 15, 2025 Mr.Fletcher Member Nov 18, 2017 11,868 UK As I said in the other thread, I need to see how the leaked footage fits into a larger whole because it's really difficult to piece together at the moment. It also makes me wonder how far we'll stray from the 'Klaus Saga' given what we see. I expected to see it all completely left behind come the next game. But now? I'm not sure. Maybe we really will get to see Malos again and Mythra's kid, who knows….  Aleh Member Oct 27, 2017 19,685 I only saw snippets and I have no idea what's going on which is good, but I'm excited. It's gonna be torture having to wait not only for release but also having to wait till the end of the game for answers 🥲   Quinton Staff Writer at TheGamer Verified Oct 25, 2017 22,935 Midgar, With Love Xenogears remake confirmed. ... No, but this is simultaneously intriguing and frustrating; we can piece together only the slimmest tidbits, as these are mere snippets of a broader whole, and lacking audio besides. Which is surely some kind of metaphor for Xeno in general, but I'm too distracted right now to make that work.  Metto One Winged Slayer Member Oct 27, 2017 12,327 The imagery in one of those videos is easily some of the most gnarly images they've done in the series so that's cool. Also interesting the Core in the Lifehold looks like a Gigantic Logos core which is interesting considering the Conduit is a non colored mass of light but here it's either a Logos core or a dark colored conduit which has some interesting implications either way. Will be cool to see how it comes together in the ending both for the context and how it'll tie into future Xenoblade content.  Skel1ingt0n Member Oct 28, 2017 11,227 I had no concerns clicking on this spoiler thread because I've always felt it HYPER obvious X would get retrofitted into the main trilogy. I'd be more gob smacked if that didn't happen. Sure, this is technically a spoiler... but it was the most telegraphed spoiler over the last 10 years ever. ... And now I bow out of this thread, lol  Neverx Prophet of Truth - One Winged Slayer Member Sep 17, 2020 3,804 Florida It's really hard to say what's going on in the clips but it looks like it's setting up the next trilogy? The conduit and Logos stuff being the remaining aspects from the Klaus trilogy.   Eintopf Member Jul 8, 2018 1,075 UK Is it known who the other new party members are? The party menu has 4 new slots and 2 of them have been revealed but the other 2 haven't.   Mr.Fletcher Member Nov 18, 2017 11,868 UK You could kind of see The Conduit and to a lesser extent the Trinity Processor appearing in the future - but the latter feels more difficult to do as the cores are actually tied to characters. The cores appearing in a kind of 'never land' in Future Redeemed can make sense, but I'm not sure how you'd kick the story on and keep those around. I only say all this because as said above, it looks like Logos? Could it be The Conduit?  Aleh Member Oct 27, 2017 19,685 Mr.Fletcher said: You could kind of see The Conduit and to a lesser extent the Trinity Processor appearing in the future - but the latter feels more difficult to do as the cores are actually tied to characters. Half of me wants the Klaus stuff to continue on and the other half would welcome a complete dive off the deep end into a whole new series. Judging by the small bits of stuff I've peaked at it seems that Takahashi is intent on continuing the 'Klaus' saga. History has proven that Takahashi just loves this kind of stuff. In the end it doesn't really matter because I'll play and most likely love whatever they put out. I'm up for anything really.  Charamiwa Member Oct 25, 2017 6,397 I'm guessing those videos will have some voice overs doing some massive lore dumps. It's like seeing the Nia scene in 3 without sound.   Yolkghost Member Oct 25, 2017 766 I'm okay with expanding on the klaus stuff as long as we just keep it as the core of the franchise and don't make it so that every future sequel has to directly build from what happens in 1-3.   Anteo Member Oct 25, 2017 4,171 Peru But he said the Klaus saga was over. But also Xenoblade X was released between 1 and 2, so it wouldnt count as a new game that is extending the saga.. maybe   Mr.Fletcher Member Nov 18, 2017 11,868 UK Aleh said: The shape is that of the Conduit, and the type of glow resembles the Conduit too… but the Conduit was golden and this is purple. I don't think it would have made any sense and I don't even know what it would look like, but the Trinity Processor being called upon to 'defeat' The Conduit might have been fun. Ultimately, I do think those characters will be left behind though… which I think is both probably good for the franchise, but sad for me personally.  OP OP Dice Member Oct 25, 2017 27,980 Canada Metto said: The imagery in one of those videos is easily some of the most gnarly images they've done in the series so that's cool. Also, it appears as though Earth is being restored somehow. One way or another, we're definitely going to get more information on the whole "Earth was destroyed in a space war between aliens" back story.  Wrexis Member Nov 4, 2017 28,771 Waddles the Piggu said: Is that corpse related to KOS-MOS? That's like when Nia was explaining things in XB3 and I didn't like that at all. All other flashbacks to the past were properly animated (even ones that had no real relevance to the main plot), and only this one being different felt like they ran out of time and money at the end.   Zaiven ▲ Legend ▲ Member Nov 12, 2019 2,747 TLH said: Ugh, why do they have to do the lore dumps in this drawn style. I did see somewhere that Neilnail can join after Chapter 5 and her affinity mission is after Chapter 11. And apparently the male Wrothian is one of the two remaining new party members, as the new Photo Saber art has the same name as one of his own arts.  diakyu Member Dec 15, 2018 18,683 Yeah I'm chilling waiting for more to come out before really trying to get into it, though I will say seeing stuff from the concept art is so hype. Overwatch 2’s new mode, Stadium, is the game’s 3rd pillar, Blizzard says
Blizzard Entertainment is giving Overwatch 2 its second big shake-up of 2025 this week, launching a new game mode on Tuesday that radically changes the standard rules of team play and introduces all-new powers for the game’s heroes. Stadium will also add a new, optional third-person camera view, ditch the mid-game hero-switching mechanic that’s essential to other modes, and give heroes wild new variations. Reinhardt can fly now.Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller describes Stadium as a third pillar for the hero shooter, not just as a new mode that can stand alongside Quick Play and Competitive modes. The game’s development team is now structured with this in mind. Keller told press in a roundtable interview that there’s a “totally separate team of people that are solely devoted to working on Stadium.” They’ll add new heroes to the mode — Stadium will launch with 17 playable heroes; Overwatch 2 currently has 42 — as well as new Stadium-specific maps and game modes each season.“We really want to put as much time and attention into supporting Stadium as we do the rest of the game,” Keller said.Stadium has been in development in some form or another for years, Keller said — even before Overwatch 2 launched in 2022. The goal with the new mode, he explained, was to give Overwatch 2 players more tactical gameplay, with downtime between rounds where players could strategize their hero builds to counter their opponents’ builds. “The reason people play a hero shooter is to just get that power fantasy of what it means to play that particular character, and Stadium allows us to push that further than we ever have in the game,” Keller said.Image: Blizzard EntertainmentStadium is a round-based, best-of-seven mode. Before each round, players spend a mode-specific currency called Stadium Cash on items that boost existing abilities and powers that dramatically reimagine those abilities. Heroes will initially get modified abilities that boost damage or healing, or reduce cooldown times. As games of Stadium progress, players will earn more currency to spend on wild new powers, like the aforementioned option to have Reinhardt fly when using his rocket-boosted Charge ability. Some other heroes’ powers can get even wilder. Ana can unlock the ability to Nano Boost her entire team or shoot her Nano Boost dart through walls. Moira can fire “multiball” orbs. Mei can turn into a giant rolling ball of ice. Kiriko can create a clone of herself when teleporting toward an ally using Swift Step. These purchasable hero powers are kind of the alternative to hero switching, since Stadium requires teams to lock in their hero choices from the start of a game. But if your team has a Genji, for example, he can purchase a power that offers beam reflection to counter a troublesome Zarya or Symmetra. And as teams stack items and powers over the course of a game of Stadium, things can get pretty chaotic and hectic. But that’s also when Stadium is the most fun.Stadium’s initial lineup of heroes includes characters that have been in the game since the beginning, including Reinhardt, Soldier: 76, Genji, Reaper, and Zarya. Some veteran heroes, like Tracer and Hanzo, will come in later seasons. There’s also some fresh blood in Stadium’s launch roster, including Juno, Kiriko, and Freja, the last of whom is the game’s newest damage-class hero; she’ll make her Overwatch 2 debut and her Stadium debut on April 22, with the launch of season 16.Image: Blizzard EntertainmentThe full roster of Overwatch 2 heroes is expected to come to Stadium in time, but adding them will take a lot of work, senior game designer Dylan Snyder and lead level designer Ryan Smith said. Building out dozens of powers for each hero across the roster and attempting to balance them all is hard — and even harder for certain characters, Snyder said. “There are heroes whose kits are just already so tight and complete that as soon as you start to expand it you’re playing with fire,” Snyder said. “Mercy was actually one of those; having such a powerful ability like Resurrect, you have to be very careful what you do to expand something like that.”Smith said that “a lot of the high-mobility characters are the risky ones,” noting that D.Va was a tough character to adapt to Stadium play.Snyder said that alpha testing Stadium with thousands of players in recent months has helped iron out some of the mode’s balance issues. “Cassidy was a very early one for us that was tricky,” he said. “We knew that we wanted to pursue something with Fan the Hammer, and we definitely maybe went a little too far with that. [We learned] very quickly how in the hands of a skilled marksman how bad that could be for an enemy.”Like other modes of Overwatch 2, expect a fairly quick response to imbalance issues and possibly even new items and powers that address holes in heroes’ kits. “I expect we’ll get a large number of our player base moving over to Stadium,” Keller said, ensuring that players put the new mode through its paces.Overwatch 2 is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. South of Midnight – Where To Find All Notes – Chapter 8
Menu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming South of Midnight – Where To Find All Notes – Chapter 8 David Carcasole • Apr 21, 2025 at 12:38pm EDT The first thing you notice about Compulsion Games' latest title, South of Midnight, might be its striking visuals, but its strongest aspect is its excellent storytelling. That includes the writing and performances in the cutscenes and the notes you can discover that add more context to the story. That's why, beyond just doing it for the achievement, it is worth your time to try and find all of the 103 notes there are to find across the 14 chapters of South of Midnight's story. This guide will show you where to find the 4 notes hiding in Chapter 8. South of Midnight - Where To Find All Notes - Chapter 8 After having to look out for 15 notes in Chapter 7, you'll be happy to know that Chapter 8 is a much easier time with only 4 notes to find. Their Eyes Were Watching - You'll be able to find this note right at the beginning of the level, immediately after using a wind tunnel for the first time. When you land, it'll be waiting on a tree stump to your right. Delta-346-Weird Happenings - After using a wind tunnel for the second time in the level, head left when you land to find a Floof knot and this note lying on the ground. Delta-346- Red Yarn - After finding the previous note, you'll have to clear some branches away to wall-run over a gap. When you reach the other side, on the right side of the path, you'll find some sunflowers with a tree stump next to them, where you'll find this note waiting for you. Delta 346 - Search Called Off - You'll find this note just after the first combat encounter of the level. Use the grapple hook to cross the gap after completing the encounter, and before heading into the cave blocked by wood and red yarn, this note will be on the ground on the right side of the path. And that's where to find all the notes in South of Midnight's Chapter 8. If you've followed along with the rest of these guides, you'll have found 57 notes by now. Only 46 more to find.
