Trump-Backed USD1 Stablecoin Chosen to Back MGX’s $2 Billion Binance Stake Deal: Report
The USD1 stablecoin, backed by US President Donald Trump, has been picked as the mode of payment for MGX's purchase of a minority stake in Binance. The development was reportedly announced by Trump's 41-year-old son, Eric, at the ongoing Token2049 event in Dubai. Addressing the attendees on Thursday, May 1, Trump claimed that the USD1 is being designed as the most transparent and regulated stablecoin in the world. Its use to facilitate the deal is expected to demonstrate how the USD1 could process instant cross-border transactions soon after its launch.Milestone Moment for CryptoThis year, in March, Binance sold its first-ever minority stake for $2 billion (roughly Rs. 17,403 crore) to a third party. With this, MGX, a sovereign wealth management fund from Abu Dhabi, became the first outsider shareholder of Binance. At the time, when Binance founder Changpeng Zhao had announced the development, he had disclosed that the transaction would be “100 percent” facilitated by stablecoins – making it the largest single crypto transaction to date.World Liberty Financial (WLF), the Web3 firm launched by President Trump and his associates last year, will be overseeing the development and launch of this stablecoin.Things to Know About USD1The WLF reportedly launched the USD1 token very quietly in April. CoinMarketCap also shows the USD1 token ranking in the 288th position on its index with a market cap of $137.02 million (roughly Rs. 1,160 crores). The reserves for the USD1 will be under the custody of BitGo and its liquidity will be managed by brokerage service BitGo Prime, the WLF had said in a statement in March. For the first phase, the USD1 tokens are being minted on two blockchains -- Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Smart Chain (BSC). In the later stages, however, the stablecoin will be linked to other blockchain protocols as well.Talking about the USD1 at the Token2049 event, Trump said that it will be backed by “short term treasury and cash equivalent that can be sent across borders in a very seamless way”, the Coindesk report said.Affiliate links may be automatically generated - see our ethics statement for details. Xbox Series X/S Hardware and Accessories Receive Price Increases Worldwide
News Xbox Series X/S Hardware and Accessories Receive Price Increases Worldwide The Xbox Series X costs $600, while the Xbox Series S 512 GB retails at $380. First-party titles will also cost $80 from the Holidays. Posted By Ravi Sinha | On 01st, May. 2025 Microsoft has announced price increases for its current line-up of Xbox consoles and accessories. The Xbox Series X will cost $599.99, while its digital variant costs $549.99 in the United States. The Xbox Series S 512 GB is now $379.99, while its 1 TB variant costs $429.99. As for controller prices, the Xbox Wireless Controller (Core) will retail for $64.99 ($69.99 for a color). A Special Edition costs $79.99 while a Limited Edition is $89.99. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core) is now $149.99, while the Full version is an eye-watering $199.99. Check out the above link to see the list of price increases in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. However, even regions that aren’t listed will see increases (depending on the retailer). If that isn’t enough, games will also increase in price by this Holiday season. Windows Central notes that this depends on the title’s scale, with “smaller” games costing $50 or less and triple-A offerings like Call of Duty going for the new $80 pricing model. DOOM: The Dark Ages is exempt from this increase, but Game Pass looks like the better deal in the long term. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime. Xbox Hikes Consoles Prices More Than 25% Amid Trump Tariffs
Xbox has increased the price of its consoles and controllers worldwide amid the tariffs enacted by President Donald Trump, and says it expects to up the cost of some of its new, first-party games beginning this holiday season. As of today, the recommended U.S. retail price of an Xbox Series X is now set at $599.99, up $100. The Xbox Series S device will now run customers $379 vs. the previous $299.99. Related Stories While the price of existing games will remain the same, later this year Xbox will increase the price of some of its upcoming first-party games from the usual $69.99 to $79.99 across both digital and physical versions of the titles. The price change will go into effect this holiday season, with no specific date given yet, and Xbox says “different games and expansions will continue to be offered at a variety of price points.” Popular on Variety Xbox says pricing on headsets will change in the U.S. and Canada only, and the pricing for its adaptive controller and adaptive joystick will remain the same. Per Xbox, “We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration given market conditions and the rising cost of development. Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and ensuring value for Xbox players.” Xbox notes that Series X and S console “availability may continue to change over time depending on the retailer and by country.” The price increase comes one day after Xbox parent company Microsoft released its latest quarterly earnings results, which saw gaming revenue increase 5% overall, but hardware sales drop 6%. Last month, Nintendo revealed it would keep the previously announced $449.99 price of its upcoming Switch 2 device, but increase the price for some of its accessories amid tariff uncertainty. Does Xenoblade Chronicles 2 story get better the further you play?

They underutilise characters, overuse others, lose itself within the plot. I feel like this had different writers during different parts and it was never cohesive. The first few hours are good the rest is just incoherent and disjointed. Perhaps a second playthrough is way better. But as a story based gamer, the fact I dread cutscenes is a terrible sign. Someone already beat Breath of the Wild on Switch 2
A Japanese player has already crossed beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch 2 off the list. YouTuber and speedrunner Ikaboze managed that feat this past weekend at Nintendo Switch 2 Experience: Tokyo, where attendees had a chance to go hands on with Nintendo’s next-gen console. Like other attendees, Ikaboze was limited to 10 minutes of playtime on Switch 2, but he managed to see Breath of the Wild’s credits in about seven minutes. Granted, Ikaboze wasn’t starting from scratch and pulled off a heretofore unseen seven-minute Any% speedrun of Breath of the Wild — the current record is just shy of 23 minutes, utilizing glitches. Ikaboze had access to a handful of save files at Nintendo Switch 2 Experience: Tokyo, one of which has a well-equipped Link that puts him right outside of Hyrule Castle. He makes quick work of Calamity Ganon. At certain points in the video, Ikaboze tries (and fails) to pull off the game’s windbomb technique, which can launch Link high into the air and let him paraglide to far away locations. But that technique hasn’t been removed or fixed in the Switch 2 version of Breath of the Wild; as seen later in the video, Ikaboze is able to pull off a windbomb jump after he rolls credits on the game with his remaining allotted time. Your chance to beat The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Switch 2 is coming on June 5, when both the game and Nintendo’s next-gen console launch. A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches the same day.

Evil Dead: The Game Has Been Delisted On Digital Storefronts, Servers Will Stay Up For Those Who Already Own It
Menu Home News Hardware Gaming Mobile Finance Deals Reviews How To Wccftech Gaming Evil Dead: The Game Has Been Delisted On Digital Storefronts, Servers Will Stay Up For Those Who Already Own It David Carcasole • May 1, 2025 at 10:35am EDT Evil Dead: The Game is being delisted from digital storefronts, publisher Saber Interactive confirmed on the game's Steam page before delisting it on Steam. Players noted on Reddit earlier in the week that it had been removed from the Epic Games Store and the PlayStation Store, raising suspicion that it had been delisted. Saber confirmed those fears today, removing it from Steam and the Xbox Store, where it was still available for a short time after being removed from the Epic and PlayStation storefronts. "We can confirm we've begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts," Saber wrote in its statement. "Anyone who has purchased the game will still be able to play it as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone. We want to extend a sincere thank you to our community, to those who have been part of the game from the very beginning, and those who have recently joined us. We appreciate all of your support." The game's developer, Boss Team Games, stopped making new content for Evil Dead: The Game in 2023 and canceled a previously planned Nintendo Switch version at the time. Unfortunately, that it is being entirely delisted now is just the next step in what's become the standard for online-only games with no offline mode. Perhaps by the time servers go offline, Saber and Boss Team Games will have finished work on an offline mode so that those who do own the game can continue to play it in some fashion. Saber didn't provide a timeline for when servers will be taken down, but it would be surprising to see them last longer than the rest of the year, now that the game is officially off storefronts.
