Japanese Liminal Spaces Imagined in Blender
Here's a collection of realistic eerie environments created by Taira Kakeru.
Taira Kakeru, a CG Artist specializing in creating spooky digital environments, continues the series of highly detailed liminal spaces inspired by Japan. Recently, Taira has gained attention on Twitter with a new brief demo featuring several impeccable 3D liminal spaces, depicting familiar yet at the same time unnerving locations, such as an empty bookstore, a desolate laundry, a restaurant with no customers or staff, and more. To create these eerie scenes, the artist utilized Blender, a free and open-source 3D modeling, texturing, animation, rendering, and VFX software.
