METRO.CO.UKThe secret to how I pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle – Reader’s FeatureThe secret to how I pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle – Reader’s Feature GameCentral Published April 27, 2025 1:00am Not an easy thing to obtain (Nintendo) A reader explains the unlikely method he used to pre-order a Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle and why it’s the only real option at the moment. I have pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch 2, but it was not an easy thing to do. Although a big Nintendo fan I didn’t meet the criteria for a pre-order invite, because I don’t use Nintendo Switch Online much and that has pretty much sealed my doom as far as Nintendo is concerned. I don’t really blame them. I approve of them trying to get the consoles into the hands of fans first and foremost, not scalpers, but I was hoping that they would switch over to allowing ordinary people to pre-order after a while. Maybe they will but they haven’t yet, although I guess we are a month away at the moment. The problem is I wanted the Mario Kart bundle, because no matter what everyone says about the general price of the games the bundle means you get Mario Kart World for half price and that’s got to be a bargain in anyone’s book. The thing is the bundle only last till the ‘autumn’ and there’s no clue as to when exactly it’ll stop being sold. Hearing that the Switch 2 is breaking pre-order records in Japan is great in theory, because I want Nintendo to do well, but if they don’t even have enough stock for their home territory what hope do we have here? Especially as they’re probably trying to dump as much stock in the US as possible at the moment, before something even worse happens with tariffs. That means the UK and Europe is going to be way down the list of priorities, as usual, and I’m actually kind of surprised they didn’t announce a delay for the release date here. Although I guess that wouldn’t have been very good optics, seeing as none of this is our fault. These sort of situations aren’t unusual with a game launch but the weird thing is that it’s always the game companies that get blamed, as if they wanted to lose sales by not having enough consoles to go around. It was like that with the PlayStation 5 and I’m sure it’ll be the same with the Switch 2. The scalpers are always the same too and I can’t lie, but I did look on eBay to see if there was one I could use. But I don’t trust any of them. There’s no guarantee they’re going to get a Switch 2 when they come out and then even if I got my money back I’d be even further behind the curve in actually getting a console. It’s really hard to say what will happen after June too, because consoles don’t usually launch at that time. Normally you’d expect a ton of stock just in time for Christmas and then quite a wait until more comes in and things get to any kind of normality. Is that how it’s going to be for Switch 2, will we not get any chance to buy it again till October or sometime? I guess that works out in terms of having it available for Christmas, but it will be pretty weird. Anyway, those are the pitfalls as I see them and all things I’ve been worrying about over the last couple of weeks. But… I got one anyway. I’d like to say there was a secret or repeatable trick to it but there wasn’t. I just bookmarked all the shops I could think of and kept checking them when I got a second. I got luck with ShopTo and that was it. I checked right after I made the purchase and they ran out of stock just a few minutes later. So you can imagine my relief, especially as it was the Mario Kart bundle. More Trending So that’s my expert advice to you, for pre-ordering a Switch 2: get lucky. I’m sorry it’s not more practical but I’m just relieved it worked for me. GIZMODO.COMApple Must Be Extremely Furious, Amazon Crushes the Price of the MacBook Air 2025 to a Record LowApple is well-known for keeping its prices tightly fixed – especially for newly released items. Sales of recently released models are virtually non-existent on Apple’s own web site, and when they do happen, it’s typically months or years later (and often only very small ones). So, to discover Amazon offering a brand-new MacBook Air M4 (2025) at a major discount just a few weeks after its launch is a surprise-and it’s safe to say Apple isn’t pleased about it. Amazon is currently offering the 2025 MacBook Air 13-inch with the brand-new M4 chip and 256GB storage for $899 which is a full $100 less than its standard $999 price. This is the cheapest price ever for this model (released six weeks ago) and it’s driving consumers crazy: The MacBook Air M4 is the current best-selling laptop on Amazon, with units selling off virtual shelves in what can only be described as a bloodbath for the competition. See 256GB at Amazon The 15-inch 2025 model is also discounted to $1,499 from $1,599, featuring 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. See 512GB at Amazon Best Ultra Laptop in 2025 In the past, Apple’s new laptops remain at full price for at least a year. Only when the initial mania has passed and a new generation looms do we see timid discounts—and even then, they’re typically limited to a handful of resellers and taken in a heartbeat. This time, the MacBook Air M4 is being discounted by a huge amount just weeks into its availability, and it’s no small cut. Amazon is pushing the price to levels unimaginable for any new MacBook Air, much less one powered by Apple’s latest silicon chip. The new M4 chip boasts a 10-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, which provides an enormous performance and efficiency boost. Apple claims up to 1.6 times faster performance in productivity apps and up to twice the speed in creative workflows compared to the M1 chip. Whether you’re editing 4K video or crunching numbers, this processor handles it all with ease. And with 16GB of common memory and a 256GB SSD on sale in this Amazon offering (there is a 512GB version too that is discounted $100…), you’ve got plenty of multitasking heft. The MacBook Air M4 holds on to its mythical thin-and-light status and tips the scales at a mere three pounds and a scant half-inch thickness. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display remains as beautiful as ever. The Midnight finish (only available on this deeply discounted model) adds a dash of premium flair. There’s also a 12MP Center Stage camera for sharp video calls, a four-speaker sound system, and Touch ID for secure logins. What you will also love about the 2025 MacBook Air is the inclusion of Apple Intelligence, Apple’s new suite of AI-powered tools built into macOS Sequoia. With the M4’s advanced Neural Engine, you can expect smarter writing capabilities, better organization and more automation. By the way, you can check our review on the 2025 MacBook Air here. To see a 10% discount on such a new and great MacBook Air is unheard of, and it’s no surprise that Amazon is selling them by the pallet. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to upgrade, this is your chance to grab the latest 13-inch MacBook Air M4 at a record low price. Make sure you grab yours, Amazon a already sold over 4,000 units of the latest MBA. See at Amazon0 Commentaires 0 Parts 43 Vue
