Ryan Coogler’s X-Files Reboot Is Apparently Still Happening
Amid all the vampire hubbub surrounding Ryan Coogler‘s new vampire thriller Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan, the director wants to remind folks that his long-teased X-Files reboot is still on his to-do list. It’s at the very top of that list, in fact. Speaking on a recent episode of Last Podcast on the Left (via Screen Rant), Coogler said he plans to hit the ground running, working on The X-Files once the dust has settled from his Sinners press tour. “I’m working on X-Files. That’s what’s immediately next,” Coogler said. “So, I’ve been excited about that for a long time, and I’m fired up to get back to it, and that, you know, some of those episodes, if we do our jobs right, will be really fucking scary.” While not much is known about what Coogler’s take on the iconic sci-fi series will be, show creator Chris Carter previously said the Black Panther director plans to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast. Since the first major update on the project came in 2021, when Coogler’s production company, Proximity, inked a five-year deal to create television content for Disney’s networks and streaming platforms, it’s understandable that fans might have assumed the reboot had quietly faded away. And if you need another reminder of how fast time flies, the last time The X-Files revival brought Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder back to our screens was all the way back in 2018. While Gillian Anderson has gone on record as not being super interested in yet another round playing the series’ resident skeptic, she has also expressed she wouldn’t say no to returning to a series helmed by Coogler, whom she described as “a bit of a genius” in a 2024 appearance on the Today show. “Whether I am involved in it is a whole other thing. I’m not saying no. I think he’s really cool and I think if he did it, it would probably be done incredibly well,” Anderson said at the time. “And maybe I’ll pop in for a little something something.” When asked if X-Files fans could hope for Gillian Anderson’s return, after her character’s less-than-ideal treatment in the revival, Ryan Coogler didn’t make any promises. Instead, he shared his excitement for her upcoming sci-fi role in Tron: Ares. Still, he left fans with a sliver of hope on the front. “I’ve spoken to the great Gillian,” Coogler told Last Podcast on the Left. “She’s incredible. Fingers crossed there … When I spoke to her, she was finishing [Tron: Ares] up. But, yeah, but we’re gonna try to make something really great … and really be something for the real X-Files fans, you know what I’m saying? And, maybe, find some new ones.” Regardless of whether Scully returns, Coogler is bound to deliver something compelling with The X-Files. His knack for putting a fresh spin on familiar tales—whether it’s Marvel superheroes or the timeless allure of sexy vampires—speaks for itself. Want more io9 news? The transformation redefines the original house, adapting it to new demands without significantly altering its built area, reflecting a current city demand for revising its uses and densities without necessarily resorting to the construction of new buildings.Save this picture!Save this picture! The project concept is to work with the pre-existence, preserving and updating the aesthetics of the original building. The masonry walls, glass bricks, and clay tile roof of the previous residence are maintained in dialogue with the new interventions.Save this picture!Save this picture! To preserve the physical characteristics of the existing main building, all the infrastructure support for the complex has been concentrated in a newly constructed block located at the back of the lot. This block houses one of the residential units and also a technical slab to meet the operational needs of the village. The use of similar materials between the new block and the existing one reinforces the continuity of the architectural language, resulting in a set composed of units with the same aesthetic and functional quality, without hierarchy among them.Save this picture! For the construction of the new built areas and the structural reinforcements in the existing building, a mixed system using concrete structure with metallic beams was employed, for the closures, traditional masonry, aluminum frames, and external concrete walls between the units. Suni Williams Has Set Many Records for Women in Space
Key Takeaways on Suni Williams: Sunita, “Suni,” Williams was born in Ohio in 1965 and has an extensive career in space. During her first outing on the International Space Station (ISS), she set many new records for women in space. With her recent over-extended stay on the ISS, Suni Williams has spent a total of 608 days in space, the second-longest stay amongst American astronauts. After nine-months stranded on the International Space Station (ISS), Sunita, “Suni,” Williams touched down with fellow NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore on March 16, 2025. A series of failures on Boeing’s Starliner capsule greatly extended a trip that was supposed to last only eight days. Not that this phased the two veteran astronauts. Williams described her unplanned and prolonged stay on the ISS as getting tunnel vision as she and Wilmore got on with the job. “You aren’t aware of what’s going on down here, [on Earth],” Williams said at a press conference after the crew’s arrival back onto the surface. “We were really focused on doing our part,” she added, as the two astronauts played their part as crew members on the ISS, carrying out maintenance and conducting experiments. She was appointed the station’s commander in September 2024. “We were just part of the team,” she said. Who Is Suni Williams? This highly professional and grounded attitude is hardly surprising given Williams' extensive experience in the U.S. military and many, many hours logged in space. Born in Ohio in 1965, she grew up and attended school in Needham, Massachusetts. Initially, she wanted to pursue a career as a veterinarian caring for animals. But eventually joined the U.S. Navy and underwent naval aviation training, becoming a naval aviator in 1989. That career saw her deployed in the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, the Mediterranean, and in the U.S. during the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. In 1993, Williams was selected to become a naval test pilot and graduated from the course that same year. During her time as a test pilot, she flew over 30 different aircraft, putting in over 3,000 flight hours.Setting New Records for Women in SpaceIn 1998, Williams was selected for the astronaut program, training in robotics and ISS operational technologies. Eight years later, she was part of the crew that flew on the Discovery shuttle as flight engineer for NASA Expeditions 14 and 15. During that first outing at the ISS – lasting 195 days – she logged 29 hours outside of the space station on four space walks, setting new records for women in space. Adding to that impressive trip, she also became the first astronaut to complete a marathon. Williams took part in the Boston Marathon on the station’s treadmill, finishing in four hours and 24 minutes, all while orbiting the Earth at over 17,000 miles per hour. In July 2012, Williams returned to the ISS on board the Soyuz TMA-O5M with Expedition 32. On this trip, she ventured out on three more space walks lasting a total of 21 hours. Building on her marathon exploits during the previous stay on the ISS, Williams became the first person to complete a triathlon while in space. She ran, biked, and even swam – using strength-training equipment to simulate the movements – alongside participants in an event in Southern California. Future Space ExplorationThat recent unscheduled stay on the ISS means Williams has spent a total of 608 days in space, the second-longest amongst American astronauts. It’s just one of several records she has set during her impressive career. Williams also holds the record for total spacewalking time by a female astronaut, with 62 hours and 6 minutes spent outside of the space station; she’s fourth on the all-time spacewalk duration list, according to NASA. With a distinguished career and multiple space records in the books, Williams is also enthusiastic about the future of space exploration.“I was pretty excited to see all the stuff that’s going on,” she said at the conference, referencing multiple ongoing experiments and research on the ISS that’s intended to support future missions. “What the space station is doing to help with exploration is amazing.” Learning from the failures that resulted in Williams and Wilmore’s unexpectedly long stay on the ISS is vital, but that experience also gave an important life lesson that everyone can learn from, speaking to her own resilience.“When something doesn’t go your way, you just have to take the blinders off and see what else is in front of you,” she said at the conference.Article SourcesOur writers at Discovermagazine.com use peer-reviewed studies and high-quality sources for our articles, and our editors review for scientific accuracy and editorial standards. Skullcandy’s new Method 360 ANC earbuds feel like a steal
Skullcandy products have always been loud—aesthetically and sonically. Previously, the Park City, Utah-based personal audio company focused on soundtracking active lifestyles over, say, actively soundtrack listening. And the surf, snowboard, skateboarding, and stuck in Concourse D communities typically are more interested in affordable clip-it-and-rip-it accessories than what lossless format a track is ripped in. Skullcandy releases, however, have recently been quiet. Even company CEO Brian Garofalow admitted as much during a panel discussion in New York April 15. But with the announcement of the Method 360 ANC earbuds, Skullcandy is setting out to retune products and perceptions. Tony Ware Gathering “agents” together at the Hall des Lumières event space in Tribeca, Skullcandy threw “Operation: SoundHeist” to introduce its mission to bring “premium sound to the people.” What that really meant was a lot of projections of brand ambassador Tony Hawk directing his minions to liberate acoustic architecture for the company’s new flagship true wireless earbuds. And samples presented in padlocked, custom-stickered Pelican cases (see above). But before the mission could be deemed a success, Skullcandy reminded the influencers and consumer tech nerds in attendance how it got here from a ski lift in 2003. McKenna Taylor, senior director, global marketing, walked the crowd through where Skullcandy has been, starting with the quiant dual-input LINK headband headphones in the slideshow below. Evin Catlett, global vice president, previewed where Skullcandy is going, previewing a 2025 product roadmap that includes a lot of Crusher Bass, for those who love to dial in more kick. Finally, Jon Van Buren, director, program management, revealed why everyone was invited: Skullcandy’s new partnership with Bose. The Method 360 ANC earbuds feature tech and tuning by Bose—a trickle-down audio experience at a “special $99 introductory price” that will go up to $129 in the future. But even at that price it’s a steal, seeing as what you’re getting is a sassy sibling of the $299 QuietComfort Ultra (one of our favorite noise-cancelling earbuds). I’ve spent a day with the Method 360 ANC and can say that many things—from the stemmed, skull logo-stamped housing to the ovoid eartips and fin-equipped stabilizing bands (is that “tech”?)—are pretty close to 1:1. Meaning fit and isolation are great for my ears (of course, YMMV). The material isn’t as premium, and the chonky charging cylinder—which slides open and features an O-ring for easy attachment to belt loops, backpacks, and crossbodies—is more plasticky, and uniquely Skullcandy. But the target market would happily trade glossy, fingerprint-friendly black & chrome for five funkier finishes—True Black, Bone, Primer, Plasma, and Leopard. Like the QC Ultra, the Method 360 ANC has responsive, customizable touch controls, but manages to also be lighter (no wireless charging, though). As for the sound, the drivers + chipset from Bose deliver what’s promised: Skullcandy’s most polished, but still punchy playback to date. The sound signature is more balanced, less wooly than other deeply V-shaped Skullcandy earbuds I’d tried. The midrange is far more refined and richly represented without sacrificing bass depth and treble extension (and you can futz with EQ in the Skull-iQ app). The Method 360 ANC still play loud, but no longer as loose. Good thud, less mud. You get Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint and LE Audio, though no support for aptX Adaptive/Lossless codecs and CustomTune like on the QC Ultra … but were audiophiles really reading this? As for four mic-equipped active noise cancellation system, it’s great for Skullcandy but not as good as other flagships. It’ll help you stay in the zone but not to the eerie alone-with-just-your-thoughts extent that the QC Ultra achieve. But, again, it’s $99 and blows away the competition at that price point. If you’re looking at long flights and need a travel buddy, the 9 hours battery life (plus 23 in the case, more with ANC off) has your back. You could pay way more and get less features if you’re a brand snob. From the in-person response, and the in-field experience, I imagine Skullcandy has a hit with the Method 360 ANC. Especially if the drip is as important to you as the bass drop. Yes, pretty much everyone at the launch event asked someone else at some point if they opened the leopard colorway (sadly, none of us did).

The Forever Winter Gets Co-Op-Only Weapon in Latest Update
News The Forever Winter Gets Co-Op-Only Weapon in Latest Update The new weapon in The Forever Winter can only be used if there are three players heading out into a region for a mission. Posted By Joelle Daniels | On 18th, Apr. 2025 Developer Fun Dog Studios has announced a major update for its PvE co-op extraction shooter The Forever Winter. The update, dubbed Nosebleeds, is out now, and features a host of new content, including a new weapon specially designed to be used while playing co-op. Along with this, there is also a new quest giver that will allow players to acquire parts to make the new weapon. The weapon is a Railgun, which can only be carried into missions in parts. Players then have to work together to assemble the Railgun in the field, after which the gun can no longer be disassembled. Once placed, a player will have to man the weapon to aim and fire. It is stated to be powerful enough to take out a tank in a single hit, and can even stun some of the largest enemies in the game. It is worth noting that the Railgun can only be used when a party of three players are heading into a mission together. A single player cannot carry all of the parts required to assemble it in the field. Check out the trailer showcasing the new weapon below. Along with this, The Forever Winter also got a host of other improvements and bug fixes. This includes a new Weapon-part crafting terminal in the Innards, a clean up of collision data in various maps, fixes to the patrol logic of the Medium Mech, improvements to kill-quest enemies, and improvements to drones and choppers. Check out the full patch notes below. The last major update for The Forever Winter was released back in March. Along with bug fixes, the update brought with it a complete revamp to the game’s unique water mechanics. Dubbed Water 3.0, the mechanic was changed into no longer being a constantly-draining resource. Rather, the update turned it into a currency that could be spent to get access to various entry points across different regions. For more details about The Forever Winter, check out our review from back in December. The Forever Winter Nosebleeds Update patch notes: New-skin cinema in the Innards Stairway Night Mode (selected when entering region in the same RNG system as other night mode region variants) Heavy weapons 1st (Beta) pass (Usable Railgun weapon system) Bunco as an unlockable quest giver (see if you can discover what he is looking for you to do!) Bunco quests to earn components to build Railgun parts (once he is unlocked as a quest giver) Weapon-part crafting terminal (in the Innards) 3-player cooperative Railgun weapon assembly Boss stunning / Boss Codex Loot Improved animations for Bagman and Maskman Map Collision Cleanup (fixing numerous issues where collision and / or geo can prevent smooth movement) Recruit AI improvements Mk. 1 (improved response to orders, mule recruit no longer obeys attack order as it cannot attack) Improved Mother Courage AI (better response to its target’s behavior) Fixes to Medium Mech patrol logic Improved 3rd person camera alignment Enhanced music system improvements (more awareness / stealth / tension layers) Specific kill-quest enemies improvements (better chance to survive against AI foes so players can find them) Drone and Chopper improvements (can spawn from below and rise into the combat space in height-based regions) Better logic for faction score increases when AI notice you damaging / killing their foes Loot containers now have a larger range of potential items (type and count) to drop Various hand-positioning and animation improvements to player character weapon poses Fixed sync-kill distance bug that would sometimes allow enemies such as the Grabber to sync kill foes from too far away Tagged With: Atomfall Publisher:Rebellion Developments Developer:Rebellion Developments Platforms:PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, PCView More Monster Hunter Wilds Publisher:Capcom Developer:Capcom Platforms:PS5, Xbox Series X, PCView More South of Midnight Publisher:Microsoft Developer:Compulsion Games Platforms:Xbox Series X, PCView More Amazing Articles You Might Want To Check Out! Its been over 500 days since Rockstar Games revealed GTAVI
Simo Member Oct 26, 2017 5,223 Michigan, USA ...and any official information. View: https://youtu.be/QdBZY2fkU-0?si=4AarA21FkAfFvBbo Since then? Not a peep. It marks the longest gap I believe in the Rockstar HD era between an announcement trailer to any updates from the studio. Take 2 CEO Strauss Zelnick has provided a couple of updates during investors call stating the game went from a "2025" target release to sometime in "fall 2025" and repeated this in the November 2024 and January 2025 investors call. Zelnick recently spoke to Bloomberg playing coy about GTAVI's release plans comparing a short marketing cycle compared to their competitors who reveal their release date and plans years in advance...but wouldn't say more about GTAVI release. So what say you ERA? Team2025 or Team Delay?  Instant Vintage Unshakable Resolve Member Oct 25, 2017 3,346 Team Delay all the way. I see you OP.  Charcoal Member Nov 2, 2017 9,520 They know they can literally say a single word about it and the internet will implode, so it's not like they need to devote a special event to it or something like that. IIRC, people lost their minds when they updated their Facebook cover photo with some RDR2 art back in the day. It's coming this year.  Thewonandonly Avenger Oct 25, 2017 4,512 Utah I'm still in for this year. Honeslty pure compium but GTA 6 is one of the very few games that can do a shadow drop or a date a month out and still sell just as many copies as they would with a proper marketing cycle. If they do a shadow drop, HR is going to be slammed that day with sick calls 😂  Kazen Member May 31, 2019 1,150 November seems right.   Jibbed Member Oct 27, 2017 230 Take-Two's CEO literally came out for interview and said there is no reason for them to show anything. I assume will be delayed regardless but I'm not sure if we're looking at 1 month after SP or more, so it might end up slipping into next year.  modiz Member Oct 8, 2018 19,229 We are either getting a delay or a release date trailer within the next month imo. Time is weird.   bushmonkey Member Oct 29, 2017 6,021 If it releases this year, 2025 will become known for one of the greatest year in gaming with what's already been released (looking at you Blue Prince, KCD2, MH: Wilds, AC: Shadows and Pirate Yakuza), what's still to come and the Switch 2…   egg The Fallen Oct 26, 2017 7,565 If there's a PlayStation showcase happening this summer it will 100% be a trailer there imo.   Shopolic Avenger Oct 27, 2017 8,011 Poor developer and publishers who are still waiting to know this!   MeltedDreams Member Oct 27, 2017 9,310 It's 2026 game i'm afraid, which would be a bummer. You say that but there will probably still be lots of money spent on advertising including physical/irl. Also I think Strauss and Rockstar just like feeling cool by not sharing any screenshots like they've usually done.   PJTierney Social Media Manager • EA SPORTS WRC Verified Mar 28, 2021 4,752 Warwick, UK Universal Acclaim said: You say that but there will probably still be lots of money spent on advertising including physical/irl. The name is all they need to sell millions of copies, so no need to waste money on marketing.   Alienous Member Oct 25, 2017 9,877 That gives me the sense that it is releasing this year. They know their next marketing blitz will be the game's last. June -> November would probably encompass reigniting and maintaining excitement for the release. I also wouldn't be surprised if there's a little bit of a 'when we feel like it' attitude from Rockstar after the initial leaks, and the first trailer leaking. Keeping the fans happy with the marketing might not be top priority, over just making the world aware of its release.  Derbel McDillet ▲ Legend ▲ Member Nov 23, 2022 22,998 PJTierney said: This is the one game that could shadow drop and still break all the records. If that was true, they wouldn't spend hundreds of millions on marketing. I get that we want to hype up things and say "they'll sell at any price" or "they don't need to market", but no, those factors still apply. I expect marketing to kick in maybe 90 days beforehand, but between now and whenever that may be there's no reason to drip screens or anything else.
