There are huge games for PlayStation fans to anticipate. There’s the imminent release of Death Stranding 2 in June, and there’s also Ghost of Yotei scheduled for October. There are also other major games in-development such as Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac and Intergalactic by Naughty Dog. Fans were hoping to see some of these games and others as part of a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play during May, but it’s now looking unlikely, although there’s still the possibility of an event for summer.
PlayStation Showcase or State of Play unlikely for May
A lot of PlayStation fans have been hoping for a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play to happen in May. This is because PlayStation events typically fall in this month such as a State of Play in 2024 on May 30th, a PlayStation Showcase in 2023 on May 24th, and another State of Play in 2022 on May 27th. There was also a State of Play on May 27th in 2021 and dedicated individual State of Plays for Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part 2 in May for 2020.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be a PlayStation event for May 2025. In response to whether they have heard anything about a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play happening anytime soon, renowned insider, NateTheHate, has repeatedly said on X, “I have not”. They have also just reiterated this on ResetEra.
While May is looking unlikely, there’s still the possibility of an event for summer or slightly after.  Previously, we reported on rumors of a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play planned for the summer courtesy of prominent insider Jeff Grubb. During Game Mess Decides 385 back in February, Grubb said, “Internally, it sounds like they’redebating, flopping between, maybe making something this summer a full showcase versus another State of Play, but they are considering a full showcase”.
Summer months are June, July, and August, so Grubb was not referring to May in their discussion. Meanwhile, on ResetEra, leaker John Harker replied “Indeed” to another ResetEra user speculating, “if I were to just guess theywill probably target one for September”.

Now there is the possibility of either June or August. Sony hasn’t done an event in July before, but they did a State of Play on June 2nd in 2022 featuring games such as Final Fantasy 16 and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Meanwhile, they did a State of Play on August 6th in 2020.
September is the beginning of fall, and there is the possibility Sony’s next State of Play could happen slightly after summer. Sony’s last State of Play was actually on September 24th back in 2024, so it’s possible Sony could repeat themselves one year later.
Whether we get a State of Play this May, during summer, in September, or nothing at all, PlayStation fans can still look forward to Summer Game Fest on June 6th. NateTheHate has teased “At least one” of three major games will be part of the show, and there will surely be plenty of other exciting reveals and gameplay demonstrations as is typical of the Geoff Keighley event.
In other PlayStation news, Neil Druckmann has praised Sony for not forcing Naughty Dog to keep making Uncharted games.

  • Natalie Portman tells Stephen Colbert what shes stolen from movie sets

Movie stars steal from their own sets all the time — especially Star Wars cast members. That includes Natalie Portman, who told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show what she's thieved from set, while promoting her new heist adventure Fountain of Youth.“I took the lighter from Jackie, that was cool, it was monogrammed," Portman said. "I took one of Anakin’s braids from Star Wars," she added. "They had that clip-on, and there were like, 30 of them because he had to have a new one every day, a freshie.""Did anyone know you were doing this?” asked Colbert. “Did Georgeknow? So this is how he’s finding out.”"I lost it, so I can’t give it back," Portman replied.Glad to know there's one of Hayden Christensen's Attack of the Clones Anakin Skywalker clip-on braids floating around in the world somewhere. One of 30 at least.

  • Randy Pitchford Defends Borderlands 4 Pricing Comment

Image: 2KGearbox Software's Randy Pitchford found himself in hot water recently after making a fairly tone deaf comment regarding the potential price of Borderlands 4.
In response to concerns that the game may well be priced at Pitchford simply stated that "if you're a real fan, you'll find a way". It's not a totally egregious comment in some respects, but the insinuation that those who perhaps can't afford the game aren't so-called "real fans" definitely rubbed folks the wrong way.
Now, as spotted by Eurogamer, Pitchford has attempted to defend and justify his comment with another post on social media; this time consisting of a video in which he answers a question regarding how much Borderlands 4 will ultimately cost.
He states that Borderlands 4 has "more than twice" the budget of Borderlands 3, which may well contribute to the final price of the game. Though he says that "as artists, we want everybody to have it", there are factors which have to be considered, including "tariffs for the retail packaging" and more.
Pitchford says that pre-orders will be opening "soon", and that the price will be set at that time. He's keen to stress, however, that he doesn't know whether publisher 2K will follow the lead of Nintendo and Microsoft and price it at or whether it will remain on the cheaper side.
His comments here seem fair, and it just goes to show how some rogue social media post can have such a detrimental effect on one's reputation. Hopefully he'll think twice next time and perhaps show a bit more tact.

  • Buying a gaming chair? Wait! Look for these 6 crucial details

    1. The right kind of back support
You will hear the term “adjustable lumbar support” used a lot with gaming chairs, but what does that actually mean? To decode the term, it means ideally you want a chair that has a lot of mid-to-lower support in the back rest.
The back rest should also be adjustableto support the curve and depth of your spine, rather than being just a generic fit.
Proper lumbar support is important because it prevents the ligaments in your spine from lengthening and causing a condition known as creep, which can lead to bad back pain.
Back rests can be mesh, or upholstered. I recommend the upholstered kind, which is far more comfortable for long gaming stints.
Also consider the kind of stability the frame will give you. Aluminum frames are preferable to plastic ones that can sometimes wobble and lead to fatigue as your body is forced to find its center.
Chairs also come with different weight-bearing capacities, and their heights differ too, so be sure to find one that supports your weight and is tall enough so that you can rest your head easily on the headrest.
Your gaming chair should be tall enough that you can easily fit your head on the headrest.
    Razer

    2. Padding that feels comfortable
Gaming chairs come with different kinds of padding. You’ll find chairs with soft, cushiony padding and others with firmer cold-cure foam. You can also find gaming chairs that combine support and soft padding to offer the best of both worlds, like the Secretlab Titan Evo NanoGen Edition.
The experts will tell you that the firmer kind is better for your posture because it offers more support, but my advice is to go with one that has both; you want a cold-cure foam that’s supportive but you want it to still be soft enough that it won’t cause body aches if you’ve been in it a while.
As a general rule, a gaming chair with a padding density of between 50 kg/m³ and 70 kg/m³ will provide a mix of support and comfort. If you can’t find this information in the product specifications, be sure to contact the company and ask for it.

    3. Covering materials: What do you need?
Another thing to consider is the type of material in the chair, how it feels and how breathable it is. Mesh fabric is the most breathable and effective at keeping you from getting too hot and sweaty, but it can be a little scratchy on your skin at times. If you live in a warmer climate, however — say, Florida or Arizona — cool mesh could be a real asset on hot days.
Leather or leatherette covering material is less breathable and can cause heat buildup and excess sweat, but inversely it feels very luxurious. It can also be warm and cozy when the temperature drops — so if you know your house is always cold, it should provide a nice boost to your comfort levels.
The CoolerMaster Caliber X2 is a good example of a gaming chair with material that can stave off overheating. It has a dense foam body but breathable PU leather material on top. Some gaming chairs go a step further actively cooling players via their inbuilt fans. The Thermaltake’s X Comfort Air is just such a chair to consider if you think even a cool mesh or breathable PU leather won’t be enough for you.
Thermaltake’s X Comfort Air gaming chair.
    Thermaltake

Some chairs come with extra features like RGB lighting, speakers, Bluetooth functionality, and control panels that provide a little extra functionality. You can expect to pay a premium price for these features.
When choosing a gaming chair with speakers you should read reviews that say the speakers have a high-fidelity audio with good-quality sound through the mids, bass, and treble tones.
A minimum of 5.1 channels in the speakers will give you a surround sound experience that will be really immersive in your gaming.
Bluetooth functionality is a great addition that allows you to hook up other devices to your chair’s speakers, like your phone, or your TV’s stereo system – so that you can listen to music or watch a movie. You just want to make sure Bluetooth connects easily to other devices.
When looking for RGB be sure to choose a chair with accents in the positions you want them. They can be just about anywhere – in the headrest, armrests, and even the wheels. Programmability is also critical if you intend on syncing your gaming chair’s RGB with your other RGB gear.

    5. Ergonomically sculpted seat
The way the chair’s seat is sculpted can be important in determining how comfortable you will ultimately find it. Two features I look for in a seat are contoured side wings and gently sloping edges – like you’ll find in the Razer Iskur V2 X.
The former guides your body to the middle of the seat so that it encounters a larger contact area, which in turn provides a lower, more uniform pressure distribution. That prevents pressure from building up in any one point and causing soreness. Sloping edges, on the other hand, allow you to assume different postures and still feel the kind of comfort you’d expect from a very expensive chair.
    Razer

    6. A decent degree of recline
After tense rounds of Counterstrike: Go, I’ll often just lay back in my chair and relax before I need to refocus again. For this, I need a gaming chair that has a decent reline that will easily hold my weight and that won’t go all jerky when I need to come back up to vertical.
Gaming chairs have either partial or full reclines. For me, I like a full recline, so an angle of between 160 to 165 degrees, which allows me to get almost horizontal with my legs well off the ground but still feel in control. If the chair has a headrest, all the better for my comfort too.
I hope that gives you a few pointers about selecting the right kind of gaming chair. There’s still a lot more to know, so be sure to read a few reviews before you buy.

Microsoft has announced an upcoming feature for the Planner app within teams called Status Reports. If you’re involved with project management at work, there’s a good chance that you’ve created status reports, but creating them can be time consuming and boring. With Status Reports in Planner, Microsoft wants you to be able provide comprehensive project updates within minutes.
The new feature generates reports that auto-synthesize your plan progress, milestones, risks, and next steps in just one click. On top of this, you can highlight wins, surface blockers, and give data-backed snapshots of your project’s health for teammates, leadership, or customers.

If you are only interested in reporting on a certain timeframe, Status Reports lets you choose which period should be covered. You can also manually define the reporting goals, and adapt the tone for any audience with flexible parameters. Management of reports is easy too, you can instantly view reports generated by your team, manage or browse archived reports, and refine them together in real time.
If you ever want to share a report, Microsoft said “drop a Loop component in Teams, copy to Outlook, or transform the report into a SharePoint newsletter for regular updates and engaging communications".
To use the feature, open Microsoft Teams and open the Planner app. From there, open a Premium plan or a Plan with Project Manager that has at least ten tasks. You then need to make sure the plan is shared with a group, if not hit the Share button in the top right and do so.
Once shared, go to the Reports tab and select Get Started on the top banner. To add a reporting time period, go to Choose reporting period and select the dropdown to choose the period of time to cover. Under Provide more details, you can add specific details that should be included in the report.
Select Generate and the Project Manager agent will synthesize the information from the plan to make a tailored report. The report will be in a Loop Canvas to support co-editing and you’ll get an in-app notification with a link to the report. You can copy the Loop component to Teams or Outlook or choose Share as newsletter to generate a SharePoint email.
The feature will arrive in the Project Manager agent in the coming weeks for English-US customers. To use the feature, you must have access to Project Manager which is in public preview and requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot and a Microsoft Loop license. If you only have one of these, you can collaborate on plans, but you can’t interact with Project Manager to assign tasks to the project manager or generate a status report.
