That's funny. I just purchased the entire series to have them on physical media.

I've only beat the first 3 back when they first came out, but I'm gonna do the next three including Double Agent - the OG Xbox version - next.

I'll be over the moon if they announce a new game. And I think I'll be interested in a Splinter Cell 1 remake, but would prefer a sequel.

If it's a game and not just some social media post then it's the Blacklist remaster. Apparantly the remake of the original being developed by Ubisoft Toronto isn't in great shape right now so I expect this to keep people placated until that's ready to be shown.

Damn man just give us a remaster of the OG games.

I'm happy that Ubi announced a SC 1 remake but a new game in the series would be preferable, hell I take a reboot.

With them using an image from the original I hope it means a remaster is coming.

I feel like with the originals being easily avaible it would also give them more space to go new directions with the remake

It won't be anything meaningful, just a skin or something in one of their live service games or someone elses.

Even if it was a remake or remaster of the original 3, I have absolutely zero confidence Ubisoft would do them justice. They would most likely have just outsourced them to the cheapest bidder.

For sure, I never actually played the OG trilogy so I would love to have a collection of the first three so that I can experience them. For some reason the last few weeks I have been craving to play a new Splinter Cell, the gameplay is unlike any other stealth game and Sam Fisher and his tool set is to damn cool. What a franchise, to bad Ubisoft has abandoned it in the last decade and hopefully that will change next week.

I'm just saying it's not a rumoured or speculated project. It was officially announced three and a half years ago. If it's a 2026 game, 4-5 years is plenty for a remake.

You would think so, but this is ubisoft we're talking about. If it really is far along in development at this point then hopefully they at least show a trailer or some footage during SGF.

But again I still have zero hopes or expectations from anything that ubisoft puts out anymore.

Feels like they've teased it a bunch of times, and it's really just been a collab or something.

I'm not sure this is just a screenshot from an older game either, but could be indicative of an announcement sure, I did enjoy the first 3 games, so would be interested in even just remakes/remasters of them.

GodGraviel Member May 29, 2024 222 luca Member Oct 25, 2017 19,484 That's funny. I just purchased the entire series to have them on physical media. I've only beat the first 3 back when they first came out, but I'm gonna do the next three including Double Agent - the OG Xbox version - next. I'll be over the moon if they announce a new game. And I think I'll be interested in a Splinter Cell 1 remake (since it's the one that's a bit rough), but would prefer a sequel.  Last edited: Today at 8:54 AM charlieonhere Member Jul 11, 2018 99 That's a very Splinter Cell 1 looking Sam Fisher   Kadzork Has got mad skills!! PS5 can still be a great console but it won’t be because of Sony – Reader’s Feature

    GameCentral

    Published May 25, 2025 1:00am

Sales of the PS5 and PS5 Pro are more or less the same as the PS4A reader suggests that Sony’s peculiar attitude towards the PS5 does make sense and it’s all to do with what more casual gamers want and expect from a console.
I read with interest a recent Reader’s Feature that talked about the PlayStation 6 being a chance for Sony to wipe the slate clean and start again, hopefully more in the style of the PlayStation 4. I think that they are probably right, in terms of Sony’s reputation for first party games, but I think we need to remember that that is not the be all and end all of consoles.
One of the reasons the PlayStation 5’s sales have not suffered, despite Sony’s poor management, is that it has had virtually no competition from Xbox. There are already almost no current gen exclusives of any importance and sales are so bad for the Xbox Series X/S that it wouldn’t even matter if there were.
With the Switch unable to play current gen games this has led to the PlayStation 5 being the undisputed market leader for triple-A games, without raising a finger and despite not having even half as many quality first party games as last gen.
What this means is that if you played a triple-A game on a current gen console then the odds are it was on the PlayStation 5. Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate 3, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Resident Evil 4 remake, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Monster Hunter Wilds, Deliverance: Kingdom Come 2, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Call Of Duty, EA Sports FC… if you’ve enjoyed a big budget third party game this gen you’ve probably done it on the PlayStation 5.
This is where I feel there is a bit of a disconnect between what hardcore gamers think of Sony’s current attitude and them not realising that it has had little to no impact on their success. Most people don’t actually buy consoles for their exclusiveswhich is probably one reason why Sony felt comfortable reducing their output.
I’d love to know what the exact stat is, but it wouldn’t surprise me if fully half of all PlayStation owners only buy one to play EA Sports FC and Call Of Duty/free online shooters. Which also explains Sony’s push for live service games, which is not necessarily foolish in terms of the idea, just incompetent in terms of how they’ve executed it.
For many people PlayStation is video games and even though games like The Last Of Us and God Of War get a lot of attention, which probably makes people feel better about owning a PlayStation 5, they’re still only a drop in the ocean compared to the sales of multiformat games with vastly less critical acclaim.
The opposite is true too. Returnal might have won a Bafta and been GC’s favourite PlayStation 5 game, but it barely sold a million copies. No one played it and most PlayStation 5 owners have probably never even heard of it.
So I think that’s why Sony is happy to be aloof and uncommunicative, because they’re winning by basically doing nothing, so why say anything to draw attention to it or upset people? It might be maddening to us gamers that they won’t acknowledge the change in policy, but from their point of view that can only be a bad thing.

    More Trending

As far as the average gamer is concerned the PlayStation 5 is a good console with great games, it’s just their criteria for what makes a great game is very different from more hardcore gamers. Likewise, their idea of whether a console is value for money or not is different. They never wanted the PlayStation 5 to be anything more than it is and they’re not disappointed at all.

More Trending As far as the average gamer is concerned the PlayStation 5 is a good console with great games, it’s just their criteria for what makes a great game is very different from more hardcore gamers. Likewise, their idea of whether a console is value for money or not is different. They never wanted the PlayStation 5 to be anything more than it is and they’re not disappointed at all. PS5 can still be a great console but it won’t be because of Sony – Reader’s Feature
PS5 can still be a great console but it won’t be because of Sony – Reader’s Feature GameCentral Published May 25, 2025 1:00am Sales of the PS5 and PS5 Pro are more or less the same as the PS4 (Sony) A reader suggests that Sony’s peculiar attitude towards the PS5 does make sense and it’s all to do with what more casual gamers want and expect from a console. Many thanks to MoonlitSeer for the more accurate screenshots taken from Twitter. You can cross-reference these with his account on there for yourself. I won't be linking to it here, since it'sa banned source.

Apparently also, Twitter now only shows a selection of follows, so the original screenshot from Reddit may well still be accurate, but this one is at least more verifiable currently.

That's a bummer. Do we have any history of him saying sketchy stuff? I loved the last rematch beta and was excited to play the upcoming one next weekend

Same. The original screenshot is accurate. You don't see all followers on Twitter, and the ones you do see change - it's not a static list. He does follow all the people in the original screenshot including RadioGenoa and Grummz.

    Ok and?

There are 100s of games released every day, why are people like you constantly so bothered about the idea that people might skip one of those games for ideological reasons?

I genuinely believe some people set up their pronouns just to mock the concept and not because they want people to respect their identity, like that guy who got banned in one of the offtopic threads with an LGBT flag avatar spouting a bunch of bigoted shit

The three genres of dismissive posts in these types of threads:

"And yet you participate in society"

"What about the poor workers at the studio who aren't bigots? It's not fair on them to skip the game just because of a little thing like this!"

Is it possible to follow these people just so you can see what dumb shit they are saying and be involved in refuting their awful views?

Lots of people follow Elon Mush and Donald Trump and hate them.

Personally I wouldn't , I'd rather not see it, but I know other people feel more strongly about that.

    Really disappointing.

I'm not surprised anymore when someone is revealed as Chud or Chud adjacent, but it still disappoints me.

I don't expect everyone to share my opinions, but I think it's reasonable to be critical of someone who is a fan of omega bigots.

Also possible, it's why a lot of people used to have "likes arent an endorsement" in their bio when they would like something to bookmark it for later. Hard to say

There are plenty of games that aren't made by dipshits so it's good to know which games that are. It's not that complicated why these threads exist, especially in this day and age. If you don't care then more power to you, but that's not the point of these threads lol

ID Tech is owned by Microsoft and Microsoftis officially part of the BDS list

Microsoft is perhaps the most complicit tech company in Israel's illegal apartheid regime and ongoing genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza. Microsoft's complicity in Israel's apartheid and genocide is well documented, exposing its strong ties to the Israeli military, its collaboration with Israeli government ministries, and its involvement in the Israeli prison system, which is notorious for systematic torture and abuse of Palestinians. Microsoft knowingly provides Israel with technology, including artificial intelligence, that is deployed to facilitate grave human rights violations, war crimes, crimes against humanity, as well as genocide. In light of the International Court of Justice's legally-binding rulings to prevent Israel's plausible genocide in Gaza, as well as its July 19 Advisory Opinion affirming Israel's illegal occupation and apartheid system, Microsoft has failed its corporate obligation to prevent genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Microsoft, as well as its boards of directors and executives, may face criminal liability for this complicity.

Hugo Martin being a bigot would be irrelevant in this case if you care about the genocide.

Given that several of these accounts post offensive shit to stir up hate and bigotry for the sake of it, you can't really give Jordan the benefit of the doubt here.

I mean following JK Rowling alone negates this take either way. Who the FUCK wants to hear what she has to say with all the shit she's said and done?? You only do that if you already agree with her.

Following the breakout success of Metaphor Refantazio, Atlus’ only action-RPG gets a second lease of life on Switch 2Nearly 20 years later, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army proves that there’s a bit of life left in the peculiar spin-off series yet.

By now, you should know what to expect from an Atlus game. Whether you’re wading into the Boschian fever dream of Metaphor Refantazio or winding your way down the seven circles of hell in Shin Megami Tensei, Atlus likes it dark. Dark and weird. Unconstrained by the trappings of normalcy. A bit edgy and a bit juvenile, but all provocative and goth.
Raidou Kuzonha vs. The Soulless Army is no exception. The curious PS2 gamecarries on Atlus’ fascination with the occult and the Satanic, but with one major variation from all the developer’s other titles: this one is an action-RPG.

Now, you need to immediately get your brain away from the idea it’s a Soulslike, or anything similar. It’s more of a hack-and-slash, peppered with the need for strategic flourish. Unlike previous MegaTen games, your protagonist, Raidou Kuzunoha, can attack with either his close range sword or his long range gun. But this wouldn’t be a MegaTen game without demons, so of course Kuzunoha can also summon two demons at a time to help in battle.
At launch, this game was fine. I’m a MegaTen sicko, so of course I played this as soon as it hit the PAL market. It wasn’t anything to write home about, really, and the combat was grating more than it was inventive. But, oh my, how all that has changed now - nearly two decades later.
Coming to the Switch 2 at launch, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army Remastered is a bit of a misnomer. What we’re getting here is more of an enhanced version, and one that actually feels like a natural and intentional growth of the original game. And do you know why that is? Because, somehow, many of the same developers that worked on Raidou and its sequel during the PS2 era are still at the studio.

This is Tsuchigumo, and I don't think he likes you very much. | Image credit: Atlus

Yeah, I know, right? What’s effectively happened here is that Atlus has been able to say to its staff: “hey, remember that game you very nearly got right at launch in 2006? Have another swing at it. Load it with all those cool combat ideas you wanted, improve the systems, take what we’ve learned in the last 19 years and go wild”. And the result is an enhanced piece of niche role-playing history that plays better than ever.
First up, Atlus has remade the game’s pre-rendered backgrounds into actual 3D. Everything looked fine before, but now there’s more interactivity, more impetus to get off the beaten path. Atlus has crammed more demons into the roster, too, meaning you’ve got more freedom in how you approach battles, as well as more options for summoning and fusing. Again, this feels like a direct reply to criticisms of the game’s small offering at launch in 2006. If you’re a MegaTen sicko, you’ll appreciate the additions of demons like Idun, Hayataro, and more from SMT:5.
The combat upgrades themselves - more status effects, a more streamlined menu, more movement for Raidou in battle, more control over your demons - all seem to have been retroactively added into the game from the second in the series. No complaints, here; Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon improved upon the first game in nearly every way. It makes for a far better experience than the original game, and one that actually stands up pretty well in 2025. It’s not exactly going to blow newcomers away, but it’s novel - and a perfect ‘on the go’ kinda game to show off on the Switch 2’s fancy hardware.

I'll defeat you with the power of friendship and this gun I found. | Image credit: Atlus

Another small quality-of-life thing that’s worth mentioning is the encounter rate. It’s been fixed. No more random encounters. Instead, demons are visible on-screen and youget to choose when to engage. To make things even more engaging, we’ve got English voice acting, too… And you know what? It’s pretty good!
And that may be what makes this re-release so appealing to me, actually. The original Raidou games contain some of the most enjoyable, and memorable, narrative moments from any title Atlus has ever made. Yes, that includes Persona. There is a humour to these games that really works - and the interactions between Raidou himself and his familiar cat Gouto is a great example of good games writing: tutorializing whilst delivering story.
Your demons have all those powers outside battle. The weird, occult-leaning setting of 1920s Japan is fairly unique, and Atlus does well to dive into how curious it is, understanding that it’s a time of change, a time of anxiety, but also of excitement and growth. Having this coloured in with competent and fun voice-acting is something I didn’t know I needed.

Batles are a bit complicated, but once you nail the rhythm, they work well. | Image credit: Atlus

This is a far better product than I was expecting, honestly. The Shin Megami Tensei 3 remaster was fairly basic and barebones, but this… this is a shining example of how you can re-release a game some 19 years later and have it actually offer something new, and fix things that the original version lacked. After a brief preview, this has gone from ‘hm, that’s interesting’ to ‘oh, well I’m going to buy that, then.’ Your mileage may vary, of course, but I think this is a fascinating example of what Atlus can cook up with its legacy titles.

Image credit: Atlus Article by Dom Peppiatt Editor-in-chief Published on May 21, 2025 By now, you should know what to expect from an Atlus game. The curious PS2 game (which enjoyed a 2006 release in Japan and North America, and 2007 in PAL regions) carries on Atlus’ fascination with the occult and the Satanic, but with one major variation from all the developer’s other titles: this one is an action-RPG. To see this content please enable targeting cookies. Now, you need to immediately get your brain away from the idea it’s a Soulslike, or anything similar. It’s more of a hack-and-slash, peppered with the need for strategic flourish. Unlike previous MegaTen games (and their use of the phenomenal Press Turn system), your protagonist, Raidou Kuzunoha, can attack with either his close range sword or his long range gun. But this wouldn’t be a MegaTen game without demons, so of course Kuzunoha can also summon two demons at a time to help in battle. At launch, this game was fine. I’m a MegaTen sicko, so of course I played this as soon as it hit the PAL market (I also played the sequel, later, which is better in almost every way). | Image credit: Atlus Yeah, I know, right? What’s effectively happened here is that Atlus has been able to say to its staff: “hey, remember that game you very nearly got right at launch in 2006? Have another swing at it. Load it with all those cool combat ideas you wanted, improve the systems, take what we’ve learned in the last 19 years and go wild”. And the result is an enhanced piece of niche role-playing history that plays better than ever. First up, Atlus has remade the game’s pre-rendered backgrounds into actual 3D. Everything looked fine before, but now there’s more interactivity, more impetus to get off the beaten path (and, potentially, more to actually do - negating some criticism of the game’s short length from its release). | Image credit: Atlus Another small quality-of-life thing that’s worth mentioning is the encounter rate. It’s been fixed. No more random encounters. Instead, demons are visible on-screen and you (sort of) get to choose when to engage. Your demons have all those powers outside battle (so you can reveal the hidden thoughts of NPCs - often vulgar, always funny - or roleplay as a detective to see more in a given scene). | Image credit: Atlus This is a far better product than I was expecting, honestly. Now, where’s my Digital Devil Saga 1 + 2 HD Remaster, ey?
