Are you ok with the fact that you only have two GTAs left in your life?

...And one of them comes out next year. So that leaves one left. Are you ok???
....
GTA SA 2004
GTA 4 2008
GTAV 2013
GTAVI 2026
...that's a 13 year difference give or take for the latest ones. Most of us are in our mid thirties. And some of y'all pushing 40 and up.
Source:
ERA age, how old are you?
I was just curious on the overall age range of this forum and all. I'm 22, how about you guys?
www.resetera.com
Get rekt.
Are you ok with the thought that you may not live to even see GTA7? We are getting up there. And even if you do, you may not live long after? Let's face it, some of us aren't even going to make it to the maximum age of ~72.

Life expectancy - Wikipedia
en.wikipedia.org
So don't try to argue with me. Just answer the question. Assuming the next GTA takes longer than 13 years (since each mainline GTA takes progressively longer to develop), that would mean 20+ years until the next game (GTA7) at the very least? This would put most of us at age 50+. You're done.
Let me do the math for you who don't understand; 35+13 = 48. And that's being nice about it. Again, they take longer each time. Let's say... 20 years this time for gta7. 35+20= 55 for gta7. Think on that. And that's a conservative number. For example: I'm 37. So GTA7 basically represents death for YOU. GTA 7 is the grim reaper game because it represents the end of your life. It's the last GTA you will ever see. You're not going to see GTA8 20+ years later. It is YOUR DEMON DOOM GAME OF DEATH.
TLDR; GTA7 = GRIM REAPER

I wouldn't be so pessimistic, now that they have the tech in place they will be able to develop them much more quickly.

Too distant and uncertain to care. I feel worst for the GTA fans that were around in 2013 but won't/didn't make it for when VI releases.

This is the last one. And it'll be future proof up scalable. Online will eventually include multiple full scale cities from all their previous titles. It's modder scene will rival and/or surpass the most capable titles seen today.
No story dlc though.

I went without playing GTAV until it was free on Epic (ok I played the first mission my brothers gameshare on Xbox in 2019, but that was more like a demo).
I think I'll be okay!

I'm more of a CoD fan and so the lack of GTA games released for the rest of my life will more than be offsett by the next 20 Call of Duty games.

I really don't mind, not to downplay the vast amounts of work and artistry behind every GTA release and how monumental of an achievement they are, but games that I find far more interesting to engage with keep being released at a neck breaking speed. I'd be far more heartbroken over needing to wait that long before a hidden gem like Blue Prince comes out of nowhere again, or replace that with any one of many other indie titles like Disco Elysium, Outer Wilds, etc etc that have unexpectedly become one of my favorite games ever in the last however many years.

Realistically speaking, what they're setting up with GTA 6 is a base platform for an ever expanding new GTA Online. You're not gonna get GTA 7 any faster than you got 6, and I wouldn't even put money on single-player DLC (but who knows).

Whatever. GTA is fun, I've been playing them since the first one, and I'm looking forward to playing 6. But if I never play one (even including 6) ever again, I don't really care.
Way too many other games out there. I'll survive.

You think GTAVII is bad, imagine Elder Scrolls VII.
(Reference:
- 13 years between GTAV and GTAVI.
- 14 years since Skyrim, and counting
- On that logic, Elder Scrolls VII will be 2045+, and Elder Scrolls VIII will be 2060's)

Really don't care about GTA, but I don't think I do this with series I care, either.
The worst thing will be dying between the announcement of a game you're hyped and its release. I imagine sometimes, Capcom announces Breath of Fire VII to release in 2 years, then I get something and doctor says I have only 1 year to live.
There's a lot of time until GTA VI, though. Who knows we won't all die in some nuclear winter thing in 2 months?

Too many unsupported assumptions in here so I reject the premise.
I know it's largely meant in jest about just how long this game has taken o come out, but it also feels a bit mean spirited in a way I'm just not giving with.
World's in a tough place atm, so, joke or not, having a 'you're gunna die soon ya old fucks!' thread just doesn't hit quite the same.

Look I've had some fun playing the previous games but I could very easily live without any more of them. I didn't play GTAV until many years after it's first release anyway.
There's so much more to play out there. Maybe I'll get to VI in 2030 or something.

GTA for me is something that is always something I enjoy to a degree but I don't get hyped or excited or whatever.

I posted this in the trailer thread. If I'm lucky, I got two more in me after 6. If they take 20 years that is.
Again, assuming I still have my mental faculties and any desire to play games in my 70s, if society hasn't collapsed.

I don't necessarily care about GTA specifically, but the more general version of this problem is definitely depressing.
For example, there is zero possibility I will ever clear my backlog. There are games I'd love to try NOW, that I will die without ever getting the chance to. Even if I dedicated myself to work through my backlog in 100% of my free time, I don't think it would ever be possible to play every game I want to.
But then again, this goes for every other experience in life too so it is what it is I guess

I don't think I've ever played GTA. I once downloaded V from GP but deleted before I even booted it up.
